Count me in Tom. I'm quick with Sketchup texturing and modeling and can import those files into Blender and ages ago learned the very basics of Blender & UV maps. Best way to learn is to do though. I find 2.5 much easier to understand, is it possible to finalize a 2.5 file in 2.49? I'm same as ola, never done vehicles. I'm good at grass, flowers, all the more important things :-) I'll send out a message at the blog too. Simon

Just so I can 'stay on topic' :-) Remember, all the driving bits are in-sim, and without fraps it's 90 fps. Yes, outside of NASCAR and Champcars, race tracks are rarely oval!

I've got 2, Operation Arrowhead so I could try the ToH community preview. You sound more into it than me, it was too scary for me! Sheesh, I started ducking for cover hearing gunshots so near. It can get pretty full-on with the gung-ho types, so not my cup of tea. Yes, good fun in spurts, helis with weapons. I'll post my other diversion very soon, I think you'll like it, I'm more into that right now. Less scary, in some ways. Why don't you try FSX? That's not realistic at all, much more relaxing

I've tried Arma, I think you are being very kind about the flight model, if you can call it that. An incredible battle simulator nonetheless, and I hope they gradually improve the Take on Helos model. Stay tuned for a post of mine re. Another flying sim I've found. Ha, we're all killing time before xp10 comes eh!!

I think Chip has one of those first Apples, him being an Apple nut. Apparently all the first ones had that present, watch its value skyrocket now. So I believe. Another 'hidden' benefit of Steve's work is his devotion to improving accessibility for disabled persons. My partner is vision impaired, so she's already enjoying her iPhone and massive zoom features, and speech, she can read emails on the run when she could never do so before. I was that close to getting a snazzy Samsung Galaxy II with its huge, beautiful screen. Damn, now, with Siri, another revolution is about to start and my partner will be able to speak her nagging emails to me! So I'll get the iPhone 4S, give it to her and have to wait another year in 3GS purgatory. But in the end, she will love the ability to communicate in 'normal' ways. So thank you Steve Jobs. RIP.

Thanks Cameron, I value the RL chat here. That is a sad story, all that experience and training, put to risk by a goose or whatever. I'm sure they'd have clear evidence of the birdstrike, I'm guessing it was a big bird leaving a big mess in the fans. I can still remember seeing the Red Arrows over our backyard as a 5yo in Southampton, they made that big an impression on me. I've been a victim of Austins flocks of birds a few times myself, crashing as a result. You can't turn them off in RL though.
