  1. That was a 'fun' 4 hours experimenting with OSM2xp, JOSM and another techie shapefile package to get the darned buildings into xplane! Very satisfied to get HALF of the buildings in, 49,000. I'll do the second half tonight after my bike ride. Yes, I've been to Wellytown. Yes, it aint exactly perfect, but an excellent base to start with! FPS sweet considering I had Itunes and photoshop & explorer open at the same time. Now I know how to edit individual buildings out or adjust their data, I'll eventually be able to get the wrecking ball out and cull the height of a few buildings. PM me anyone who wants even this early copy. 20megs.
  2. Just don't let them run jumps-races too early! But yeah, this Black Caviar is looking fine..
  3. 'Colourful' is one way of describing it!
  4. Nice work Peter, that looks an amazing RL terminal! If you want any tips on night lighting, contact me at the blog. Im a real 'vampire'night lighting junkie, so Less is more is my general motto. Like with most things in life, the more time you spend on it, the bigger the payoff! Personally I'd keep concentrating on the day look (yes, a less clean texture would be nice), as well as optimising fps performance. Making great progress on a very challenging facility!
  5. Chris, I'm used to having all manner of objects thrown at me. What's a marriage for? Ball in my court? What, am I the Andy Murray of Xplane? :-) Ok I'll add this to my list of projects to be done. This is a team project though, so I'd appreciate input from any locals for references and any objects from others as we identity a need. I bet you have it all under control though C! This could be a long time coming, as I'll do it intermittently. But it sounds pretty advanced already thanks to your work guys! I am yet to get the buildings into OSM. Benny is helping, plus working on some more magic. Once we do, it could be very, very nice. Then I may undertake A 2048 by 2048 overhaul of Benny's day textures, since night went so well. I'll pm you in the morning. Up far too late again. 1am here. But at least I got to see Wilmington. That was worth it!
  6. Hey Chris, Andy and any other Welly fans - I've found a file to use with an OSM editor, I might be able to generate a 'couple' of buildings for Wellington! Yes, a couple of thousand
  7. I just posted the replacement .lit texture files here, as I say, enjoy!

  8. Nice John! I've had a creative day too you'll see. That KC-10 really disturbed the neighbours!
  9. Grrr, I put water down frm default to low, 10% improvement. Frm 9 to 9.9 fps hdr. Oh well, no excuse for me not to do more scenery experiments!
  10. Ok Chris. Will note that M sign for future use. My fps has tanked, you must be the lucky one Chris!
  11. Hey Chris or Tom, where can we see the Macca's or 'gas' stations?
  12. Why, oh why?! Though if its mouth could move, I could make some funny Machinima.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvhruOK_DiM
  13. Ooh yeah, I've finally been able to fly this magnificent plane! A real work of art from Carenado and Dan. Another rave review coming from me. Even works real smooth with all of Benny's OSM buildings + Realscenery.
  14. YMML of course! As long as your spooky work doesn't cause us more earthquakes.....
  15. VERY nice Maxime!
  16. Fantastic to hear Goran, well done and same to Theo, Javier, Philipp and Cameron.
  17. Many of you might relate to this! From the Iris Simulations devs... First one to shout 'bingo' wins, sort of.

  18. Hahaha. So you think this is a serious documentary? I can tell youre joking! My fave bit among many in that episode was that hostess' valley girl talk. I think it's valley girl?

  20. Hey Chris, I finally managed to reinstall my xp10 to my hard drive (that is so much fun!), more importantly I also downloaded this great scenery, well done to you and all the contributors! Heck it takes ages to download though. An initial quick tour impressed me. Fps was very good. Love the full carpark and the tower. I still get the land filled ocean, is that my issue or your fix is yet to be issued? Ha, don't show it to any Sydney developers, it might give them ideas re. Landfill
  21. These guys make me proud to be Aussie! Give it a look- a mashup of 60s bond and B grade war movies and Thunderbirds! Complete with lip synching just off, and a bizarre Hitler/Nazi plot. Bonus- in every full episode, someone dying recites a sublime cocktail recipe. Love it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkiqJCDlQTs
  22. Pardon me for just calling you S! I wouldn't bother, I've tried it and barely noticed any improvenents. It's great to put your OS and many other disk intensive apps on though. Hahaha, good question S. Folks are more mature here, GENERALLY, moderation is definitely less insane. I could go on for longer but that'll spoil the others' fun. I think I have a good analogy. The Org is like a very large McDonald's, including similar staff training and attitude. Here it reminds me of a small hip cafe here in Melbourne, bloody good coffee and atmosphere to chat with friends over.
  23. Very nice modelling!
