  1. I know it's an old topic ... but, X-Plane makes it for me because .. it doesn't feel scripted it runs on a number of platforms it just gets more and more awesome each iteration it's 3rd party development friendly it has the greatest potential for being the be-all of GA flight simulation
  2. I'll give it a go .. hope my system can run it. It does look awesome though!

    X-Aviation: Gizmo and SASL Compatibility

Hi Cameron, I reckon the MU2 should be up-rated as a HD series plane when the patch goes public . Great that Gizmo is going to 64-bit. If I only could fly a single plane in 64-bit it would have to be the MU-2. Having said that, when JRollon's Jetstream 31/32 comes out it's going to severely test my monogamous relationship to the Moo.
  4. This is bloomin brilliant! Looking forward to it, thanks so much. I don't suppose you'd consider YBBN, YBAF, YAMB, YTWB and YBOK as your next projects? Heck, I'll settle for the whole of Queensland & NSW (and you've already done YSSY .. so that's the hard bit out of the way)
  5. Nice website Peter! Cheers
  6. Can of worms ... but where do you start. AFAIK, XP10 was not designed to have all the airports and cities populated except for it's default using of the 'plausible' scenery method. To get good airport scenery, one can either buy 3rd party scenery or design our own local/favourite airports using WED. What XP does extremely well imo, is how it recreates the sensation of flight. I have P3D to compare and imo P3D does poorly in this area against XP, even though the rendition of some scenery spots (e.g Botany Bay) is much more representative in P3D. Have you tried UrbanMaxx? I use it in XP10 and at least the cities are a smidgeon more like a city should be .... I'm pretty sure that it'll get better .. and as XP 10 matures, the offerings from 3rd Party devs should become more frequent. Anyway, I guess everyone's perspectives will vary on this topic. Mine have too ... over time.
  7. Thanks Cameron and Tom for the uplifting news, it's really made my day. Mind you, I don't mean to be a pain ... without guys like you this hobby would be so much the poorer, and I owe you both (and Ben as well) a huge debt of gratitude! @ Flo, I agree with you about the uniqueness of Tom's Moo. It definitely has that extra 'something' that I just can't put my finger on, a flavour that's absent from the Carenado planes. If we were talking wines, the Moo is like a full bodied shiraz with a great nose that you have with a tender grass-fed steak, while the Carenado's are the mid-range table merlot you'd get at a Sizzler's ...
  8. Anyone with real news or even hunches when the MU2 update will be made available by X-Aviation?
  9. Yeh it's ok. The thread may be old .. but we're moving it into the 'now' .. heheh.
  10. I'd like a C90B KingAir withcomlpete and accurate systems modelling .. please
  11. Tom ... already an extremely happy camper!
  12. ... Hmm that happened to me in the early days. Then I found that my joystick (Saitek Cyborg) was spiking and a little too sensitive. Playing around with the sensitivity settings, curves and dead zones in X-Plane's joystick setup fixed it for me though. I'm not sure if you're using version 10 or 9.70. But another issue I used to have was the weather settings in 9.70; where the wind on takeoff was a huge factor. Weather and wind isn't the huge bug-bear it was in 9.7 though.
  13. Hi Tom, I can report that the MU2 runs flawlessy in the beta 10.20b1 32bit mode. I notice that on my rig, the previously pronounced dip on rotation isn't so pronounced and the plane tracks pretty much straight down the centre-line during the initial takeoff roll ... I'm wondering if the settings have been tweaked in the XP beta or maybe I'm just becoming a better pilot . Steve, I have multiple copies of the X-Plane installs on my PC. After I did the original install, I made a copy of the X-Plane folder and called it X-Plane xx.xx (where xx.xx is the version number). In the case of the CRJ with Gizmo, I've created a X-Plane 10.G where the G is a reminder for myself that Gizmo is installed in that install of X-Plane. Reason being that Gizmo still kills the sound for my Carenado planes. Ah-ha .. an insider quantum physics joke? BTW, I really like your site ... as I'm looking for ideas and inspiration to build my own multi purpose panel. Thanks! Cheers!
  14. Thankyou so much Tom! The MU2 is my favourite airplane in XP (I mainly fly the Moo). Looong awaited, I'm very much looking forward to when this becomes available. I hope it's ready soon! Cheers! I wonder will it be 64 bit compatible ... which I guess also depends on whether Gizmo will be 64 bit compatible. Now worries, just ruminating ..
  15. Corelock old mate, were there any other girlfriends of the same model where you got yours? Actually for me it's already the 'wife' model and I'm wondering if there's a handy serum or tablet available to make her flight sim friendly ... hehe
  16. Ooh, very exciting! I'm very much looking forward to this airplane. Do we have an estimated date for release yet?
  17. Very nice ... I'm going to be a bloomin' pauper when all these magnificent new aircraft hit the shelf on x-aviation. Always thought that "can't wait" sounds like such a pithy remark ... like it's something one says when one can't think of anything remotely intelligent to express a desire (for a product that is) ... this time it's appropriate ... just can't wait!
  18. There are no words to adequately describe this work ... seminal, perfect, attention to detail, inspires awe! All those words don't do your work justice, therefore I can only say from the bottom of my soul ... THANK YOU! I wait very patiently for the day that this is released. Cheers!

I really like the Carenado X-Plane series of aircraft. Carenado definitely pay attention to detail.
