  1. Rob, what you are experiencing is an intentional nose pitch down starting about 60' - which will also happen in real. This is a result of of XP's new downwash model. The effect is a *tad* overdone in our opinion, but we could not convince austin about it at the time. We might adjust this ourself in a later update if austin sticks with it.
  2. Can you record a video of this, have not heard of it before?
  3. Hi Mikkel, Getting late here as well, but as you mention yourself, you need to do a constant AoA (not pitch) approach do tests in ground effect. Also you need to separate lift, drag and pitching moments as they are all are different effects. Jan did a lot of tests and was OK with what we ended up with in XP 11.1. AoA will decrease as you get close to ground, so if you do it right you will need to trim up all the way down to maintain the AoA, and in theory you will make a very smooth landing in the end We did a lot of testing, and so did others, so I don't expect you to find anything... . The pitching moment is a tad on the high side, but austin disagreed. M
  4. You can try deleting the xp prefs files as well.
  5. The rudder is tuned as in real, you are maybe talking about the nosewheel steering?
  6. Maps you might have and the nav data you have installed in XP do not always match! Check in XP's in-sim map that you are using the correct frequency for the VOR.
  7. Thanks for letting us know!
  8. Also ENBR is very slopy in many places, not a good place to do tests..
  9. Ok, latest Gizmo version seems to have cured it
  10. I think this is a combination of several things. - Failed engine goes from full to 0 thrust in split of a second, probably not realistic, more likely would get a bit more time (spool down) in real to correct with the rudder in most cases. - At that speed there is very little side friction (weight) left on the nosegear (plus x-plane has a friction weakness we call "creep", long story) - You are using full engine TO thrust (not normally used) which will give the most problems, but it should off course be able to handle that. - Not sure what your elevator trim was but I assume it was in the green band. So thanks for reporting it, we might be able to do something about 1 and 2, but this is more Laminar territory, but we will put it on the list of things to look into.
  11. Speed brakes should give you about 500 fpm extra rate of descent, not very noticeable
  12. Hi, understand your frustration, but we have not seen this from anyone else yet. We need screenshots and logs. I assume you have closed all disco's?
  13. You are correct, making an accurate high end aircraft, you cannot google/buy everything you need because a lot of it is proprietary. I would guess maybe 30% of what we needed was online. You are highly dependent on getting information from other sources. It can take years and great effort to get everything you need. It is also a matter of trust, you don't share information with just anyone as this might fall back on the original provider. Personally I have collected data for 15 years, and my "data/manuals folder" is currently 102 Gigabyte... Having an in type pilot on the team is also very important. We also spent dozens of hours in the big level D sims testing things we were unsure of and edge of the envelope stuff, many hours in the hangar etc. Also, once you have the information you need to understand it and know how to use it. So a technical background is almost mandatory. So yea, it is not a trivial task making aircraft at this level.
  14. Not sure if comparing a static aicraft with one in cruise is very relevant, but obviously something not quite right.
  15. Read the email you got or the pinned topic in this forum
  16. I would use FLCH, just dial in the speed (M.74/280/250.) and target altitude
  17. OK, so it *could* appear this somehow is related to airFMC as both of you use that. Anyone using AirFMC reading this that has it working?
  18. That one seems to be related to view presets. If you pan to the FMC it works for the other guy... You use airFMC or what it is called?
  19. Thanks Torbjoern, About the FPS, according ti Ben (Gizmo) the change is that the FPS no longer fluctuates as much as they used - more stable. But 10 fps seems much. Could also *maybe* have something to do with the reflections being back. Anyway we will investigate further.
  20. Hmm.. very strange. I suggest you try one of our tutorial flights (documentation+videos) with FMS and tell us where exactly things start to go wrong. Also, try a takeoff without touching the FMC and see if HDG mode works then. (after a fresh start of the sim) Further, if you recently added any 3rd party plugins, try disabling those, there might be a conflict.
