    New GPU

I've got the new iMac Retina with the AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4GB GDDR5. Runs very smooth with default resolution (not the full 5K, only do that for screen captures)
  3. Working on them. the challenge is to make the horn arch without making this more polygon heavy than the rest of the scenery.
  4. Cograts! is it only available trough Aerosoft? I am currently on holidays (but still have my laptop and would like to get it) but my IP does not match my account addressed won't let me buy it
  5. Wait until this becomes available to mach the amazing Jackson Hole scenery and HD Mesh v3 of the area WIP by Aerobridge Studios
  6. Thanks again!. took a short flight from Lukla to explore and not only the Himalayas are magnificent, Lukla is flyable agin one of my favourites routes is from Katmandu to Lukla VFR
  7. Thanks Mat, Progress is slow and the most difficult for me is to find the time between reverse projects , family and work, also looking for ways to reproduce the entire city realistically since the default assets simply don't fit and OSM data is very poor.
  8. Hi Tony first let me thank you for your work, is an amazing tool and the results are spectacular. I was looking at the OSM data for Mexico and unfortunately there is not a lot of building info. However the INEGI (Mexican Geographic Institute) has available the complete cadastre (free download), that is the official every single building in the country, not just buildings but is like OSM data on steroids. I was wandering if i is possible to use this data to generate World2Xplane sceneries instead. Importing this data into open street map is not a simple task since it would overwrite all the available info. Olso I would like to contribute with some Latin American looking models to be included in the library, which i believe would work as well for some parts of Asia and Africa. were can i find the details of the requirements and procedure to do so? Once agin Thanks for your time and dedication.
  9. They are like vampires, they can't bite unless we invite them in. My next aircraft purchases are IXEG 733, Rotasim MD80, DC-9 all in the works from X-Plane dedicated developers. PMDG needs to do something not already done by our beloved plane makers. Javier Rollon is been very quiet recently, I hope because he is busy busy busy, either doing another plane, completing the CRJ series or with Laminar behind close doors.
  10. For the Portoroz scenery (LJPZ, Available to download in file library) we created a frailly good looking grass forest in combination with edge LIN and ground surface in POL format that got a lot of compliments. We did grass patches instead of individual blades, still has significant performance hit, and to look good the forest setting need to be set very high. Doing volumetric grass in FOR format is doable, but not very efficient. It would be nice if in future releases some sort of fur rendering could be included for grass. which would be a more efficient and better looking solution. Edit. Another problem with the for format is that "trees"spill ut of the traced area, and need to be very carefully placed behind the desired limit. otherwise small patches appear where is not desired and can ruin the effect
  11. This is one of the buildings that were redone entirely and the texture resolution increased. In the first image the lights appear on but i solved that after the picture was taken, Never mind the ground, still work in progress
  12. The static OpenscenryX planes are a separate download and the autogate is limited to a small are only not on every gate.
  13. Yes. I just received, after over a year since I requested them. some models and textures that were missing. I now have all te original textures without compression and i'm in the process of exporting the models in x-plane native format. Some of the models I redid entirely and i have restarted work on this scenery, after a long pause. I still don't have a timeframe for release but I can pick up where I left. it There was a really annoying misplacement issue that I couldn't figure out. When placing objects in WED based on the underlying ortho, they were appearing out of place in the sim. The problem was the the "ortho" was actually multiple objects that had the same origin point. and the further away from the origin te worst te misplacement got. I got rid of the object based ortho and am using a real geo referenced satellite image, and now the problem is solved. Now i can trace ground surfaces and marking accurately and I am happy with how it is coming along. Soon I will post some images and as the project nears completion , will announce a release date. Thanks for the interest
  14. I don't think a "Perfect Marriage"exist, it falls in the same category as unicorns, honest bankers and decent politicians. When you add the fur like grass, 3D vegetation, the cloud engine, on top of Blade Elements Theory, Plausible World, etc. You would probably have to record the flight somehow, send it in to Pixar for rendering, and a month later, when all the rendering is complete watch what your flight look like. As an independent flight sim platform, might take some wind on it's own, But I don't see Laminar spending half their income licensing the cloud engine, specially after redeveloping their own. Sundog have made amazing improvement over the default cloud engine and Laminar have also improved the default. There is still a lot of room for improvement, and I believe that by the time X-Plane 10 reaches the end of it's development, we will be looking at a complete different animal than what we have today.
  15. Application sent, would like to add that even though I haven't own the Saab for a long time, (since Black Friday actually) I have spent quite some time learning it's intricacies and is been the only plane I fly lately (for real complete fights, for scenery work testing i use a default GA light plane). I am totally in love with the plane and would gladly help to test any new features and compare to current released version. I am not new to X-Plane either and have good understanding of many aspects of the sim.
  16. Is splendid work. I took a sort VFR yesterday around The Alps to check the performance and with SMP, Saab340, RTH, I still got very reasonable FPS without touching my rendering settings, which are set quite high. I have a 4 Ghz i7 with 16GB RAM and a AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB. I am really impressed with the quality of thi scenery and X-Plane is really leaving the competition far behind. I know is a lot of work, but if you ever get a chance, would like to request The Pyrenees and the "Picos de Europa" in the North of Spain. It would make me and a bunch of spanish guys very happy Thanks again for the awesome work.
  17. I am thinking of bundling all the Cuban airports, Habana, Santiago, Cayo Coco, Cayo Largo and Varadero, some of them are really small, but all together, and now with the availability of the HD mesh v3 on the entire Island could make a great destination.
  18. I am not sure yet, I am working simultaneously in MUHA Habana and KMCO Orlando, Habana is an older version and needs some improvement to bring it up t today standards.
  19. Thanks for considering for a future update, The mapping of the chart object is not flushed to the right, is slightly to the left, no big problem, i tried several times until i goy it right.
  20. Not related but here is a preview of the Habana (MUHA) scenery is looking great in X-Plane
  21. Hello Again. I was reading the manual and I understand the the Pilot chart view is limited to 5 items in the list. Is it possible to increase the number of list items? Conditions change and would like to have the option to select the appropriate STAR and Approach chart and 5 items are not enough to have them ready. Thanks. Loving the aircraft by the way. Awesome work. EDIT. Do yo mind posting a template of the mapping of the square texture file for the charts? It being square and since most charts are not, I am guessing the approbate size and position , doing so for a multitude of chars to be ready is a bit extra work. Thanks
  22. I have recently retaken the project. I am now capable of making the edits necessary to complete the project. I am carefully reviewing the previous work and in the process of exporting all the improved objects. Is looking much better than the original. larger resolution textures and extra detail. My intention is to release early next year. No promises. As soon as all the improved objects are complete and placed I will post previews. Thanks for the interest.
  23. I said CHALLENGE, not Change. I am sure simheaven's will upgrade to V3 mesh in the near future, just need time, first to download the whole enchilada , update their sceneries and then upload again.
