  1. Awesome…always loved flying into Dublin. Making me thirsty for a Guinness.
  2. XSquawkBox is a plugin used to log in to the VATSIM network. http://www.xsquawkbox.net/xsb/about/ Hope I'm not violating any rules here.
  3. I believe I've found the guilty party: XSquawkbox. Remove this plugin from your plugin folder and see if it fixes the issue. It did for me. Nano
  4. Thanks John. Great product!
  5. Update. Don't exactly know what I did except move all my custom scenery and aircraft back into the XPlane folder and now getting good frame rate with SMP V2. Currently flying Carenado BE58 to Nice and getting 26 fps with broken clouds below. Now that I have it working, I can see that V2 is much more visually appealing to V1. Thanks for the great work John. Nano Good luck to Saynday. Hope you get it running well.
  6. Well I did that and got the same results. At times I would get 40+ fps and then it would drop down to .025 and drag on. I was using the Falcon 7X which does use the SASL plugin. I guess that would be the next logical step to see if that is the issue.
  7. Interesting that I have the same computer and OS as Saynday and experiencing the same problem. My next step is the remove all aircraft and custom scenery, then install SMP V2 and see how that goes. Will report back. Nano
  8. I've loaded and reloaded both versions of SMP with all other plugins removed. I also completely removed my custom scenery folder which I believe has a couple of airport specific plugins. Unfortunately, my XP 10.30b8 installation still only runs V1. V2 will run if there are no clouds, but as soon as the clouds start to show it slows to a complete standstill; fps rate of 0.225 I'm fairly certain it is not a ram issue as I have 8GB and iStat says only about half is being used. I do notice that when the frame drop way down, one of my 8 cores is locked up at 100%. I'm beginning to think this may have to do with the Gizmo64 plugin that V2 installs during installation. Is Gizmo only specific to V2?
  9. I did not change any settings from the default configuration. But I will try your suggestion.
  10. Having the exact same issue. 10.30b8 on i7 iMac with OSX 10.8.5. SMP V1 worked fine but V2 just shuts everything down to fps of 0.5. I removed the Custom Scenery folder to no effect, and also removed all plug-ins with the exception of SilverLining. Stumped on this one. Nano
  11. +1 on CRJ-200 JRollon Also, like the T7 Worldliner and FlyJSim 727.
  12. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Nice rig you got there.
  13. Stop teasing me with your capabilities …your gonna cost me a lot of money! Impressive as always.
  14. I did quite a bit of testing on my iMac today and I'm hoping someone can explain this scenario for me. As I mentioned, I mostly enjoy flying over southern Europe using simheavens Z17 photo scenery. When flying with objects set to "default" and trees and roads set to "none", I'm get 50-60 fps in "extreme resolution". However, if an area of non photo scenery enters the screen, the fps drops to mid single digits. That's a significant drop and I usual have to change the view to keep from getting a slide show. What is causing this behavior? There are no objects being drawn as there are no objects in that area. The parts that are not Z17 are HD Mesh V2, but I don't think that should be the cause. Any thoughts? Thanks.
  15. Thanks for the input Jose. Although I'm impressed by the W2XP sceneries with OSM data, for me it is the simheaven photo scenery tiles that really add to the immersion of XP. And although I don't understand why, I can run Extreme Resolution at 60 fps when flying over these tiles. Of course I have all trees, objects and roads turned off and I don't think it detracts from the overall realism of the flight as you can clearly see everything on the ground. The only problem is that with objects turned off, I get no airport sceneries. Wish there was a way to get just the airport objects.
  16. I agree XP does run well on my iMac. However, even the highest end iMac graphics card pales in comparison to what you can put in a PC as far as performance goes. The latest videos using W2XP scenery builds are incredible and unfortunately appear unreachable with an iMac. Maybe I'm missing something. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRWqQB15SN4
  17. A question I have about the external drive recommendation. Do you run your sceneries from the external, or is it just a backup? I have a Time Machine backup of my entire system, so I do have a complete backup of the XP folder.
  18. Hello, As XP10 gets better and better, I believe it may be time to upgrade from my 2009 iMac i7 with its 512 MB video card. I'm in the initial planning stages of switching over to a dedicated Windows PC explicitly for XP. I have a couple of questions for the community experts who may be familiar with the process. I'm pretty experienced with XP since V8 and am a real world professional pilot. Here are a couple of my concerns with regards to the switch; 1) Can I simply move over my Custom Scenery folder? I have over 280 GB of scenery downloads and would rather not go through that process again. Especially the simheaven photoscenery tiles that took considerable time to download. Well worth it if I may say so. 2) Can I simply install the bare minimums of the main program and copy in the rest of the XP folders; i.e. Aircraft, Global Scenery, Resourses, etc. I understand that some plugins will need to be redownloaded as there are different version for each operating system (XSB, XFMC, IVAP, SkyMaxxPro) 3) From my research on the subject it seems that a high end i5 cpu is all that is needed to get the most out of XP since there is no use of hyper threading. If there is strong disagreement, I'd appreciate your thoughts. Also, I'll be using 16 GB of RAM and most likely at GTX 7 series graphics card with 3GB VRAM. With the addition of tools like World2XPlane, it's inevitable that I'll have to make the switch to continue enjoying XP. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Nano
  19. I'm happy with the "default" option where I get all the custom airport objects. Don't really care too much for the faux city scapes and fly with as much photo scenery as I can, i.e. simheaven. Much more realistic and way less taxing on my computer as you can see from my screen shot.
  20. Couldn't resist the temptation and upgraded to 10.30b1 last night. So far I'm liking it and have a pretty significant increase in fps. In the screen shots below you'll notice that I'm getting 60 fps with the Carenado F33, which normally isn't easy on frame rate. Also, check out my rendering options. Texture size is 1472 meg and my VRAM card only has 512 meg on this 2009 iMac. This is a little confusing to me, but the fps is great and I'm on Extreme Resolution! VATSIM conditions were CLR skies and I am at 10,500'. Also, I'm using Real Scenery's Washington State for photo scenery.
  21. Anyone know if SkyMaxxPro is compatible with 10.30b1? Do I have to uninstall SMP before upgrading to 10.30b1, or can I just leave all my plugins alone and hope for the best? A little nervous to make the switch.
  22. Flown in and out of PVD many times and your work looks marvelous! True immersion. Can't wait to add this one. Thanks for all your effort.
  23. Guess I'll give an update. Haven't experienced a CTD in about 10 days since using the overcast quality to "MED" setting. Seems to be working fine. Also, I fly mostly on VATSIM with 64 bit XSB and still no issues. Thanks for the great clouds and sky. Nano
  24. Thanks GC, I suspected a mondo graphics card was enabling those awesome videos. I've been tinkering with the idea of getting a PC computer just for XP. With World2XPlane providing such great immersion, now may be the time to make the jump back to a PC. Thanks for the information.
  25. GC, Would you mind posting you computer set up? I'd like to know if my machine is capable of producing such immersion. I have an i7 iMac, 2009 model with 512 MB VRAM. I've download many of the Europe Simheaven files, but don't have the W2X buildings and trees that you have. I'd like to give it a shot and see what I can get. What exactly do I need? Thanks, Nano
