1. Can you confirm if you are using the free castoring version of the DC-3? To check this, go to exterior view and swing the rudder from left to right. If the tail wheel does not move, it is free castoring and using the rudder pedals will not affect direction unless you're going fast enough. The way you taxi a real DC-3 is increasing/decreasing power in the appropriate engine to elicit a turn response in the direction you wish to go. The same applies on takeoff. Engine power management. 2. I'll look into this one. 3. The other way you can tell is a drop in oil temperature. I assure you, they do work.

I'm sure Cameron will get around to it, but here's one I found on AVSIM.
-
Unfortunately, this is a limitation of X-Plane, and there is no way around it without access to X-Planes source code.

If you don't have the hardware for it, you can use the drag manipulators to adjust the levers. There are 3 manipulators for both the Condition Levers AND the Power Levers. Left, Right and Both. The manipulator for both levers is in between the left and right ones. That's the only workaround I can think of.

Nice livery. I can't say I have the time to sit down and do it, and I'm not sure anyone has made one, but I could ask someone I know to make it. No promises.

She's slowly coming together. Mixing my time between this and the Citation. What it WILL have is completely new mesh from top to bottom. New textures. Modified flight model. New Garmin 430. New manipulators. What it (probably) won't have. Scroll wheel manipulators.

1. To start 3nm out requires the engines and all systems to be running. Because of the amount of code and the steps required to get all those systems up and running, X-Plane can't load these kinds of situations for an aircraft this heavy in code. 2. No, but you can utilize the Auto Start feature which gets all the vital systems started. You will need to take a few extra steps, like setting the Condition Levers to MAX, check Bleed Air valves, etc...

Combination of C and SASL(?) "SASL plug-in enhanced flight model and systems,"
-
Doubtful. It's made with SASL. SASL is exclusive to x-plane.org.

Try to make your purchases with the developer and the product in mind. Supporting developers supports the hobby and the community. Peter has worked extremely hard on this project, for almost 4 years. Going by the screenshots in this entire thread, I'd say it's worth it. Regardless which store it's in.

This is a total mystery to us. From what I have seen, you are literally the only person to report this. It's not that I doubt you, as I have seen your screenshot. It's just that from the sales we've had, you represent less than 1% of people who are experiencing this issue. This seems to be something unique to your system that no one can put a finger on. As a last resort, may I ask you to hold out a short time longer and wait for the new upgrade to be published, and then see if that does anything.

Unplug all hardware and disable all plugins except Gizmo. Then restart the sim and reload the Saab.

Please keep in mind, each time you submit a support ticket, you get pushed to the back of the line again. Submit 1 support ticket and you will be seen to.

RC6 just went out yesterday. RC5 had just 2 issues we had to fix and they were dealt with in this last update. If all goes well, RC6 will be our final one before the update is live.

Could you make a video of what is happening with the takeoff run and the fuel tanks?

In most cases, if X Plane itself is updated, and it breaks something in an add on, the developer can contact Laminar and give them all the details about what's going on, and Laminar then introduce another update that fixes the problem. Very rarely would a developer have to fix something in their add on after an x plane update causes some kind of issue. As far as features or bug issues in the Saab, as it stands at this time, we're considering this update to be the last one. If, by some chance, X Plane breaks something in an add on through one of their updates, and we cannot get them to fix the problem, then of course, we would take a look at it and fix it ourselves.

Ladies and Gents, After considering an upgrade to the Sundowner and Duchess for quite a while (as early as mid 2014), work has begun on a rather large update on these 2 aircraft. This will have very little effect on the Citation as I am only dedicating about an hour or 2 per day to bringing this up to 2015/XP10 standards. 3D mesh, with the exception of the seats and maybe the flight controls, is being completely re-modeled and re-textured from scratch. Almost all old mesh is being dumped. Please note: Due to the amount of work involved, this upgrade will incur a small fee. Please, no critiques on the modelling. It's obviously a work in progress. Cheers!

Work continues. We're treating this as the final update to the Saab, so we're making sure everything is covered.

We did discuss whether we wanted to add the Test panel, and we were prepared to go through with it, but after discussing it with the other pilots, 1 of them was my old flying instructor, all but 1 (my old flying instructor) said they never used it. The pilot I knew said he used it only once in 6 years of flying the Saab. And that was on the ground for the Aircraft Engineers. So we questioned if pilots use the test panel so rarely, would it be worth the time invested to make one. We unanimously decided against it. To actually add the test panel functionality would have added a few more months of development time into the project.

I used to have that problem on my old tv. To fix it, I hit the side of the TV and it fixed it most of the time.

Steve (ointment) Thanks for the help thus far, but we got it from here. Cheers

Did you try a bare bones installation of X-Plane on another part of your computer? Another partition would be best. No scenery. No other add ons. Just the Saab, the sim and the default Seattle scenery. Honestly, we haven't had any other cases of this, so it's a big mystery why it's specific to just your system. Just a side note. Are you able to get your hands on another joystick. Just a very simple one, and then calibrate using that. Try that before a bare bones install.

Landing in a simulator is one thing. There's a false sense of security centered a crash where no one gets hurt. Landing in a real life situation, that security disappears, and you know you only have 1 go at making it down in 1 piece. I took off and landed countless times in FS5 and FS98 in just about all the default aircraft. Full of confidence. My first landing in a Beech Skipper in August of 1997, I nearly killed myself and the instructor. I bounced the aircraft on landing. Coming in on base and final, I was gripping that wheel so tight, the instructor had to tell me to loosen my grip at least half a dozen times. It's definitely a very different scenario.

Interest Check: Duchess & C23 Sundowner Update?
Goran_M replied to Scubby1359's topic in General Discussion
The Sundowner and Duchess are getting an overhaul. No estimates when they will be done. But I will get them done as soon as I can. New mesh and new textures. MAYBE some new code.
