  1. "Looking after the people that support me is the other part." And that is precisely why I will buy anything and everything you ever make! ;D
  2. Goran, The nose wheel not touching the ground issue only occurs when using ChaseViewDeluxe. It is not apparent in the standard chase (A) view. In fact, you can actually make it look like none of the wheels are touching when using ChaseViewDeluxe. I'll post screenshots if you want. Well, I'm editing this post because I just moved the Duchess to my home airport at KBZN. In the standard chase view the nose wheel is not touching the ground. The main gear tires look like they are bearing weight. Interesting issue. Not one that really bothers me, but it is definitely an issue.
  3. By the way, you can't get into the site without registering. It's free and worth the effort. Good stuff from good pilots over there. Of course, the best stuff is right here in this forum!
  4. Ah....gotcha. Nope, not a real world pilot...yet. Working on it, though.
  5. Jason Chandler wrote about this extensively on his forum, www.air.c74.net. Here's a link. http://www.c74.net/xplane/fx/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=72&p=123&hilit=compress+textures#p123
  6. Thanks for the compliment, Scott. She flies pretty true to life. I think they've done a great job with the flight characteristics. You'd be better judge than I since you actually fly one. All I can say is that she's worth the investment! And fun to fly!
  7. The link doesn't work. I get a page not found error. :-\
  8. I opened the POH that came in the Documentation folder inside the installed aircraft folder. I am on a Mac, OS10.5.8 and it opened fine in Preview. I used Acrobat Reader 9.3.3 to open it and print it. Worked like a charm!
  9. You guys are mean! I just got my Duchess but I can't fly her until tonight! It's gonna be a looooooooooooooooooooooong day!
  10. Sweet! Good to know. You guys rock!
  11. If I could only get my hands on the layered paint files...... :
  12. I've got tons of screenshots of the Sundowner. You could say I'm a bit obsessive about taking screenshots. I'll do some more editing and get some more posted. I really do love this plane and I'm excited to get the update. I've never had more fun flying a GA plane than this one. Can't wait to get my hands on your new stuff, too! Thank you for all the work you put into your aircraft! Thanks for the compliment, Rush. You gotta love Leading Edge!
  13. The only experience I have with Carenado is the Aviator90 videos by Chris Palmer. I have enjoyed what I have seen of the aircraft in his videos and have longed for better textures and realism. I've never actually flown any of the Carenado products because I fly on my Mac. I own FSX but have never flown it. Most of the aircraft I have flown have been Riviere, Heinz, AeroPedro, Jacques Brault and other stuff from the org and anywhere else I've been able to find acceptable aircraft. Suffice it to say, there is NOOO comparison with the Sundowner, Falco, MU-2 or any of the great payware from the guys here. I am a relative newcomer to X-Plane, but I have well over 1300 hours and I am becoming more and more picky about what I fly. I am more than willing to pay for quality aircraft. My first investments in payware were Jason Chandler's Pipers, Cessna, Cirrus and Beechcraft planes. I've logged a lot of flight time in my PA44-180 and look forward to more. And Jason is a fellow Montanan! The fact that a developer of Carenado's stature is coming to X-Plane is truly great news!
  14. Just took another look at the Carenado website. I'm drooling....big time! I have most of the payware aircraft offered by the authors on this forum and I love them all. I will certainly continue to support them by purchasing their new offerings, but Carenado is a welcome addition to these quality aircraft offerings for X-Plane. I can't wait to fill the holes in my hangar with some of the Carenado offerings! Only bad thing about this news is it just makes me all the more antsy to get my hands on the new Beechcraft Duchess, the G36 and of course the Saab 340!
  15. Woo hoo!!! I can't wait to have the Mooney!
  16. Seriously? Now that's a real compliment! The last photograph is the real world Sundowner. All the airborne pics are the Leading Edge Sundowner.
  17. Here are some pics of my Sundowner. I'm attaching a picture of the real world Sundowner that I based my repaint on. I love this plane. Sure would love a paint kit with the layered files so I could do a better job with the painting.
  18. Flew out of KSEA early this morning and headed up to CYQU (Grand Prairie) on my way to CYZF (Yellow Knife). As CEO of Air Northwest Virtual Airlines I have access to some great aircraft. Air Northwest is unique in that we have a lot of vintage aircraft to fly. Check us out at www.airnorthwest.org. This is our L188A Super Electra II
  19. You have my vote for complete, fair, blunt, honest, possibly brutal reviews. Just remember, live by the sword....die by the sword. Or keyboard in this case.
  20. Thank you for having the Garmin 430 in my Sundowner! If you hadn't put it in, I probably would have. Or some other kind of GPS. I believe most pilots, both real world and sim, use some form of GPS. I agree there are some limitations to the 430, but it's probably mostly my own lack of 430 education that keeps it from being more useful to me. I just logged around 60 hours in the Sundowner flying her out to the Carolinas and back to Montana and I have to say I am truly in love with this plane. I can't wait to have the new update with some of the kinks worked out, but this one has been a joy to get to know. Every landing was better than the last and we became a good team over the past month. Thank you again for a great aircraft!
  21. Saweet! Thanks for the update. Patiently....holding my breath!
  22. I actually don't mind the "dirty" windshield. It is one of the most realistic windshields I've seen in X-Plane. I haven't tried anything to clean it and I probably won't. However, if I were to try something, I'd probably go into Photoshop and make some adjustments there. Speaking of Photoshop, when can we hope for a paint kit? Any way we can talk you out of the PSD layered files? I've only got about an hour in this plane, but I'm liking the way she flies and I'd love to personalize her exterior. On another note, I noticed the altimeter issue, too. And the rpm's are quite easy to exceed redline. I tested my Chandler 150 last night and compared it with this 152. They both have very similar handling, but the Chandler engine stays within the redline. Not sure which is more realistic.
  23. I updated my 152 and did a quick look around the cockpit and I have to say my windscreen still looks dirty, too. I'll take her up for a spin later today to see if it looks better in flight.
