  1. Did you realize I spoke about any default plane and not your heavily coded wonder ? There are still other planes than the Saab that flies in X-Plane you know I told him that because it is a known issue with any X-Plane aircraft and I thought he would consider that If this is not the problem, and the prop rotate because there is a calm wind of 0.05 knot on your Saab's prop, then OK, I admit I was wrong and eventually gave him the possibility to break the plane and so the support, which was not intended and I excuse for that Though you can test what I said with any plane that use X-Plane provided engine models ( which is 99% of the fleet ), and you will see. Thanks
  2. Okay thanks for the warning Cameron Though no, it do not have everything to do with the wind I investigated the matter enought to affirm that, sorry... Load the default King Air for example or any prop plane ( even piston ) and place it cold and dark, with 0wind and gust, put flight model to 1 and see what happens Thanks
  3. In this case, this has nothing to do with the wind actually ... It is an X-Plane flaw The only two solutions if you want to see your prop dead stop when cold and dark and calm wind, is to have a very powerful PC and increase the number of flight model ... or go to plane maker>engine spec and change the transmission loss to the minimum ( let's say 0.001 ) This will reduce the transmission losses ( gearboxes, belts if any, etc etc ) and will really make your prop turn freely ... and when it will come to a stop, it will forever ... the bigger the trans. number is, the faster the prop spin on cold and dark... It is probably due to all behind the scene calculations that X-Plane does for engine model, taking into account all parameters such as prop weight ( so inertia ), transm. losses, engine torque, reduction ratio etc etc ... Hope this helps for you, I myself can't stand to see props/rotors spinning forever in X-Plane, that gives a taste of bug ...
  4. Oh yeah that's true I didn't reembered the Saab was 64 bit only Yes sorry ... hope they will update it to 64 bit, sooner than later ... we must live with our times ;-)
  5. You have the Reality XP GNS 430 and 530 option too
  6. Yeah ... Though I'm looking forward what was just revealed ... the AMD RADEON R9 290X http://www.techspot.com/news/54124-amd-reveals-the-radeon-r9-290x-their-next-generation-gpu.html I don't know if it's single or bi-GPU ... but hey, when X-Plane will take advantage of bi-GPU stuff ? I took the Titan as I knew X-Plane was only taking power from single GPU now ... or I would have taken the older 690 !
  7. ... I'm impatient to see how the Titan handle the Saab ... I have to wait it come back from repair/exchange shop, she burned ;-(
  8. Would love to get them too ! Not because I doubt if I will take the plane or not, but to learn the plane in order to wait to save enough for it ... What a pleasure to open a plane and know how it works !
  9. No you're not http://www.xplane.fr/Xplane/Goodies.html You did a very nice job mate ! I'll have to fly this thing again ;-)
  10. Yeah ! that looks like FS2004 clouds and I personally LOVE IT !! I will just make the same remark as before, would love to see more crispy clouds, where we really see the borders between them and sky. Sometimes during the great summer days, we see things like that http://zakarea.unblog.fr/files/2008/02/whitecumulusclouds.jpg I know you already told me it was impossible to do in 3D clouds... though I can dream !
  11. Can't wait to buy your mighty sky John !!
  12. Mm yeah ... Honestly, after 3 Release Status Report ( all saying it was about to be ... ) I start to think we'll never see this one out soon ;-( I know they are playing with our nerves, thinking it will raise dramatically the day one customer number ... But I imagin that phenomenon like a curve, where the maximum would be at a certain point of teasing/excitement/mouth watering etc etc ... Then, if it continue to be teased for hours, days, weeks ... it becomes not supportable anymore and frustration takes place instead, and the curve goes down, dramatically ... Hope I'm wrong, but if it's not released this week end, with all promises ( of this #3 RSR saying within 48 ), we will be very very disapointed and will start to think there isn't only the installer that still need to be done ... Once again, hope I'm wrong ;-)
  13. Exactly ! That way they are almost sure everyone here at least will purchase it, as well as many many others !
  14. EXCELLENT Chris ! So you're CPL or future ATPL learning on DA-40 ?! Lucky bast*rd héhé, this one must be so sweet to pilot ! And nice clouds yeah, probably the beta of SkyMaxx !
  15. Yo James Personally, I would recommend you to start with the Dreamfoil's R-22 ! As it is the simplest helicopter and also the more difficult to handle. What I'm trying to say here is, when you can precisely pilot the R22, any chopper will be easy for you afterward Some people here ( Nicola being the first ) will say the Nils's BK-117... it is a great helicopter, but very very assisted ( Stability Augmentation Systems, great avionic etc ) I would say it really depends on what you are aiming, if it is just great flights, without struggling to fly correctly, and explore, I would say the BK117 If you really want to become a great virtual ( or real ^^ ) helicopter pilot, doing some high precision work such sling load operations, very stable and fluid hover etc, then you should start to fully know the R-22, then go with the Bell 206 single-turbine helicopter, then the 117, S-92 and future Sea KingI If you need any help with joystick/control configuration for helicopter operations, I would be glad to help ;-)
  16. Okay do I'd better say, if you prefer that kind of game ( following your idea, it is same kinf of game like X-Plane is ... ), then take a look. And yes IL-2 was more realistic than War Thunder etc etc regarding flight dynamics ( stalls, torque etc ) and much more. Just unclickable cockpit etc made it somewhat limited
  17. Yeah DCS require hard learning curve as it is a flight simulator IL-2, RoF etc are realistic regarding flight models etc, but it's still games... while DCS is not
  18. Before even get any attacks like " nothing to do with X-Plane " Well, we are all aviation flight sim enthusiasts so we might all get interested in this. The ultra realistic hardcore military simulation that DCS World is already, wants to expand much more... requiring your " tastes ", and your financial help Please read that : https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/20586543/DCS%20WWII%20Non-Official%20Brochure_RevA.pdf No I'm not sent to promote that, but if it's a success, it could become THE military sim ( all eras ) of the next 10 years... with a level of realism, system simulation/procedures, 3D, sound, gamelay etc never seen before Thanks for your consideration
  19. Yeah you can't satisfy everyone that's why your UI is really smart I think ! And really great shotS by the way, can't believe my X-Plane will look like that when it's out ;-)
  20. Hey, Mario, this is exactly what I said, I am thankful to them. Just said that here in France, we have many VORs, that is all ;-)
  21. Ok so Germany is probably a bit different here Yes but anyway, without oxygen supply you cannot fly over FL 125... and I don't take many risks to say that oxygen equipped ACFTs will surely have some GPS too
  22. Here in France, there is one VOR for virtually any big city... I don't know for the eastern Europe but we are full of VOR for sure ... Anyway, that feature looks very helpful ! And it's done in a professional way, not like it was quickly added in a hurry prior to release, I feel it has been designed to follow that plane's guideline : quality Hats off
  23. Very nice Leen ! Just visited your nice little website, lots of wonders there, I particularly love the DC-3 ones, great job !
  24. Things always require more time that expected ... That's why publishing officially a release date or at least week is very very very hazardous... and you see how some guys are mad now .. Good luck
  25. That's sound really exciting
