  1. Gizmo is free to download and install and always will be. Apologies for any confusions being created at the moment. As a customer of X-Aviation products you will never have to pay an additional separate fee for Gizmo licensing. It is include in the sales price. Using Gizmo, to create stuff, is when you start to pay money. We are currently offering access to Gizmo to the entire community, you may see freeware projects start enhancing their work with Gizmo soon. You would need to pay $20 to see the Gizmo enhancements for that, and any other, freeware that becomes available. These things are hard to put into words, please follow our progress and watch what unfolds. We are not trying to hit you with hidden fees of any kind. I'm sure Cameron will be along shortly to help out more and get you sorted out.
  2. Thank you Steven, for bringing the world one step closer to that which we all desire.
  3. ..
  4. Nice to hear that the product is better than the advertising. A rare thing in todays world.
  5. No. Just leave it in the folder where you found it. You can pretty much forget about ever doing this unless specifically instructed with loud messages.
  6. Thanks for the reference footage Simon, I think I'll get to watch this clip several hundred times over the next few weeks. *laughs* Certainly some beautiful graphics in there.

  9. I grabbed a copy for mucking around with when a real modellers not available. So far all I seem to do is break the mesh engine
  10. Take some pottery classes. Blender is easier by far. There is no undo button in reality. That said, the automakers still turn to clay for final tweakage at real life scales, visualization you just cant do any other way.
  11. Learning Java: several painful days, at least. Wiimote Plus: $40 US from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Remote-Plus-Black-Nintendo/dp/B0045FCKVI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289164979&sr=8-1 Wiimote has accelerometers. Wiimote PLUS adds a Gyroscope. Wiimote also has high speed infrared cameras that can be used for all sorts of cool stuff. (White boards, Track IR, LOTS.) Wiimote tools and frameworks exist that let you play on your desktop computer for coding, not on some phone. You can play around in Python. Having explored the wiimote and the iPod Touch for this stuff I recommend you get yourself a WiiMote, the start up cost and barrier to entry is MUCH MUCH lower and ulimately the WiiMote, with it's high speed infrared camera, is much more suited to game-sensor applications than any phone i've seen yet.
  12. Awwwww yeah, they sure did. And it was awesome. AND they took a photo.
  13. I'd love some more feedback on this project from anyone that's tried it. Don't be afraid to be blunt and use point form just like Cam'.
  14. If you don't have 10.7.29 version of Gizmo you'll need that.. You can grab it here: http://bitbucket.org/xplugins/gizmo-sdk/downloads That should make the MFD's light up. You should be greeted with a config page when you start, turn on "Electric Jet" and it will turn on the custom flight laws and surface control code. The ailerons dont work because X-Planes idea of flaperons conflicts with mine, so I turned them off. Thanks for giving it a go, feedback helps keep us goin.
  15. I've added some basic support for the X-52 HOTAS throttle, the input has been remapped. If you have an X52, you'll know it has detents in its travel. If you turn on the X52 support in this jet you will get 100% dry thrust at your max-power detent. Pushing past the detent will enable after burner. The small remaining amount of travel on the throttle does nothing.
  16. Expect to see everything thrown at this one Simon, thanks for the reply. It's a tough act to follow around here.
  17. I needed a pet project to show-off Gizmo. Thought I'd do an F-16, nice and fun to fly. Good systems options. This is NOT a reference F-16, it's not even an attempt. See Greg Hofers project for that. This is a fun project, modernized with custom glass and flight rules. Purely experimental. Here's where the glass is at right now: Externals: Here's the fun bit. This project is a tech demo, all scripts, PSD files and blend files are available. If you're interested: Follow the change-log with always-up-to-date information here: (I'll post to this thread with major updates.) http://bitbucket.org/xplugins/gizmo-f-16/ Download the bleeding edge version here: http://bitbucket.org/xplugins/gizmo-f-16/get/tip.zip NOTE: This project is designed to explore the limits of what Gizmo can do, expect quirks. I don't think the HEAT mode of the terrain map works with Gizmo for Windows. The Mac build is slightly more advanced, a beta map mode snuck in. I'll do another plugin update soon. Scripts will run for 10 minutes before the demo timer kicks in. Have fun.

  19. Damn. You guys are too sharp! Turns out that Kyler was complaining too much about how much work it takes to make a good cockpit so Austin deleted all support for OBJ8 cockpits and threw together 3 hard-coded 8 bit panels using some belly button lint and wood glue. Still looks O k on the outside though...
  20. We are testing a new auto-feed with the X-Plane10 blog.... so Simon can focus more on content and less on sharing exactly right on each forum. Please forgive the minor HTML errors and so forth. Working out the bugs.

  22. Simon, didn't you get talked to about this? Sharing Professional Addons Makes Marketing Intolerable Nasty Garbage harder....
  23. ...just the first pic says it all really.
