We need log files and screenshots guys. I cannot stress this enough. We can't help you if you don't help us.

I have just audited the code that console.txt blames. There's nothing obvious but I can modify the code so that if it happens again the logs will be more specific. Unfortunately this one is going to take a little time to track down fully.

Comparing boot times?

Ironically being short and direct is trying to "get on with it".

I agree that I could've tried harder to actually teach them something rather than just shutting them down. More along the lines of would be more polite, but probably not more constructive. If the user can't read the actual thread, what makes you think they'd bother reading a reply to them that they will simply dismiss as "TL;DR, made me feel bad." ?
-
The next person who posts an org rant thread is a rotten egg.

In the long term, which is worse? - Posting purely for the purpose of being inflammatory. You leave out any form of context in your quotation, it takes seconds to link. Why obscure the facts? Give people the truth and let them make up their own minds. This thread had been four days idle and was ready to die a nice natural peaceful death. - Posting purely for the purpose of being direct but educational. Users are posting detailed technical data. Bug has already been acknowledged by ME as being MY bug. Two posts earlier. The user I corrected contributed absolutely nothing but a random guess with no supporting facts evidence experience or EVEN any hint of evidence that they were in fact reading the actual thread. There is absolutely no reason NOT to correct a user for being so immature. It helps them grow. It might be a bitter pill but in the context of the rest of the world it's nothing, a mosquito is more annoying. (and far more life threatening.) Perhaps you weren't reading the thread either...

The Congratulations on leaving out all context. The original post for those interested, is here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/6238-silverlining-crashing-my-flights/?p=69497 I think you're drastically over-valuing the "contributions" of someone who wants to see their own name in lights while adding nothing but noise to the conversation. The time invested by both customer and team members in diagnosing these issues is valuable and adds up FAST. Having people spread false information is incredibly frustrating for all parties involved. It would be nice if you'd get off your high horse and see that. Instead you chose to selective snipe at pathetic petty issues. Please find something else to do.

Please keep your guesses to yourself. They do not help anyone.

From the data inside console.txt it looks like this one is on my plate. Thanks for posting all the data you had. It helps a lot.

Reality is brutally honest.

Worse still.... it's much harder to UNlearn than it is to learn. Broken systems leads to broken pilots. NO systems simulation is better than a half assed incorrect one. Don't believe me? Go take some martial arts classes and learn first hand how fun it is to throw up when the blackbelt shows you what life is really about and how little you really know. Been there, done that. At least I didn't take anyone with me.

Oh no. I've upset the fanboys. This is clearly a cheap move to take advantage of the enthusiasm built up around other products coming to market. If you can't see that maybe you should pull your head out of your collective asses. This "AMAZING OMG I JUST WET MY PANTS" product will be shallower than the kiddies wading pool, and about as nice to swim in. This won't even be 1% the quality of the other product if you're willing to wait for it. Imagine what the world would be like if we all told the truth instead of glossing shit over day in, day out, afraid to hurt someones poor widdle feelings.
-
Half, or half assed? But I digress. I've been keeping to myself up until now and I'm going to put that hat back on now. If you don't have anything nice to say..........

1.5 new 737s is a more accurate description.

Rust is absolute rubbish. Pure crap. The worst game I have _ever_ purchased. Even considering that it's Alpha Pre Release it's still woefully bad. It loads 1 in 100 times. Then, when you finally get it to load, the player community is absurd. The game mechanics are completely broken and the experience is horrible. I'd rather fill my eyeballs with sand and vinegar than ever EVER go near that piece of crap again. Watch this video and you will get an infinite amount more enjoyment out of Rust than you ever will "playing" it. Avoid like three week old sun-rotten fish.

Classic Jet Sims F/A-18 systems simulation plug-in
Ben Russell replied to antti's topic in Plugin Development
Please feel free to link to some actual air warfare history that's anything remotely like what you describe. There isn't any since Vietnam or possibly Korea. You're talking about Tom Clancy bullshit. Modern ops is basically "blow up the radars with HARM(?), bomb the shit out of infrastructure with stealth" It's 99% radar avoidance. 1% story book glory. -
Classic Jet Sims F/A-18 systems simulation plug-in

Actually, you could make a very realistic mission using some basic radar logic and a Luxury Yacht. Get spotted by radar and the mission fails. Miss with your bombs and the mission fails. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Opera -
There is a manual-install plugin update available if you can be bothered unzipping a file and dragging some folders around. http://blog.x-plugins.com/2014/01/

"Steam machines are pointless and Valve is struggling to keep SteamOS relevant" http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2014/01/24/steam-machines-are-pointless-and-valve-is-struggling-to-keep-steamos-relevant/ I think there's a lot of very valid points in the above article.

The important part "to know" is what the redistribution terms of the license are, not who made them and who's credited.

FYI: Gizmo version numbers are a slightly modified ISO date and do not need any "reformatting" There is no such release as 1/15/14 - this change you have made means that I have aboslutely no idea which version you're really using. 14.01.16.0253 decodes to 2:53am, 16th January 2014.

2D instrument panel creation tool: Air Manager
Ben Russell replied to LNRalph's topic in Plugin Development
SASL is designed from the word Go with both remote and local capabilities. There is a LOT of existing SASL content out there already. Personally I think SASL is an incredibly limiting choice, but if all you want is a gauge engine then it'll do the job.- 11 replies
