Simon, I'll be following this thread with interest, I'm keen to know what bugs people that are new to the scenery tool set. I want to kick down a few walls here and there if need be.

A couple of guesses... Pilotview is one of Sandy's plugins, correct? Going by the above INI post for how to assign keystrokes I'm thinking that this plugin also works with X-Plane 8.x ? If this is the case, you will not be able to assign a joystick button to a "pilot view plugin" action. The new command strings are an SDK 2.x feature, they arrived with X-Plane 9 and they would mean that Sandy would have to rework some code while breaking version 8 users. Perhaps he will update them in future. Here is a video that demonstrates how to setup a joystick button to use a custom plugin command-string in X-Plane 9+.

Captain. Please accept my apologies. The version of Gizmo as shipped -does- cause issues. This has been acknowledge elsewhere, it's an OpenAL thing. As author of Gizmo, my recommended course of action for now is to simple disable Gizmo by renaming or moving the Gizmo.plugin folder after your registration has been completed. There will be a new verison of Gizmo shipped soon that has resolved the sound and performance issues. It has been heavily debugged and tuned for use at Oshkosh and is currently getting hammered every day. Trial by the hottest of fires. Sorry for the hassle. I hope to release some updates soon that will make up for any bad impressions Gizmo has made on people.

Greg has started out-sourcing his 3D work to a "professional" agency. Unfortunately that just leads to bland water color textures, and that's why (imo) it looks wrong. All his work prior leaves it in the dust. His avionics and systems modelling is where Greg really shines.

They were deleted because they didn't come in the form of a series of marketing tutorial videos leading up-to the event for months prior. Seriously, what can I say? We have exposed it, we have proved it, we have moved on to making better things, Nicolas and the Org continue to rot. I don't go there much anymore. There is nothing new going on over there.
