any additional item requires additional calculations and therefore performance. you have a lot of calculations involved if you want a realistic model of flexing structures under dynamic forces. not sure the result justifies the investment. if you want just a bouncing wing, I think other examples have been cited that can satisfy that, but it's got few to do with reality. :-)

let me rephrase it for you: in the current state of IT hardware and software combinations necessary to run the complex systems we love, I prefer to have its flight dynamics, controls and systems tuned and further improved and extended, to give us the optimal simulation inside the cockpit, rather than seeing additional graphical enhancements that we will not enjoy (or only for a few minutes) impacting performance. I use P3D, PMDG, GSX to satisfy my need for cartoon-ish atmosphere. If we ask developers to include animations, not only they will impact the necessary performance, they also will need more time to develop it which of course raises its final price. It doesn't matter if we are in 2016 and IT hardware is better than what we used to have when running XP9 blablalba...., what I know about the number of calculations needed to run such elasticity model animations tells me the performance investment needed is in no relation to the benefit I get out of it. I want an optimally balanced simulation, that is what i consider the best for me, and at this very moment it is IXEG 737-300 Classic without animations, running smoothly and robust on my system.

you only have to do that if you have a third party anti-virus installed, and if that is your particular case, nothing to do with ixeg or other. you chose to use an alternative protection software, so you should also take the necessary steps to make that software work correctly. the ones to pin-point are MS who do as they wish with us. Now you could also unistall your anti-virus and turn back to Defender deactivating it whilst you fly, your call. I cannot see why you would take yourself the pleasure of flying it, at the end it is really easy, download the reg file, execute, you're done.
-
Let me explain ... that does not work if you have third party anti-virus... the defender is apparently de-activated but actually still running (check the screen shot in my first post!!) and you cannot enter any exceptions as you cannot open the application apart from that, I would not be 100% confident these exceptions are maintained through one of those MS updates but anyway, for my configuration and my personal preferences, best solution is to deactivate it with group policy and check it stays de-activated after big updates. like anniversary
-
looks like this was the reason, I suspect the anniversary update triggered a reactivation of the damn defender... for whatever reason, without any notice. I love MS! planning routes every thing back to normal on the MCDU after forcing Defender to shut down thanks Jan :-)
-
in this case option 2 shall be your solution :-) go to http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5918-windows-defender-turn-off-windows-10-a.html and download the REG file here: http://www.tenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/107814d1477579014-windows-defender-turn-off-windows-10-a-turn_off_windows_defender.reg read the instructions, they are easy... download, execute, log off, log on again, should be done!
-
that's not correct, it does turn it off completely. Group policies are hard limits for Corporations with very precise requirements that need to be respected, even by Microsoft. The only exception to my understanding happens, when updating windows... like the anniversary upgrade. It might again mix up all your settings thanks to ever "don't give a damn Microsoft attitude". I am not sure you keep those defender folders' settings when updating win either. so, since I cannot trust Windows, I prefer to turn it off. And for those using third party soft it is very recommended if not mandatory anyway.
-
you can.... Option One: To Turn On or Off Windows Defender using Group Policy (possible if you are running Win10 Pro) Option Two: To Turn On or Off Windows Defender using a REG file just google "how to turn off windows defender windows 10" and read the instructions but it seems some update had overwritten my original settings will test the now with fresh settings if it was down to what Jan answered.. stay tuned!

I noticed exactly the same issue on my side since upgrading to 10.51. confusing enough, see screenshot attached, I guess defender is deactivated (control pannel says activated, when clicking on open windows defender it says it's turned off) will check if my Kaspersky plays nasty games with me, but it never did happen before 10.51, so I never actually had it deactivated while flying.

do you know the difference between a nice-to... and a Must-have? shame on you not having understood what you have in your hands, nobody defends a developer, on my side at least I give my advice to let devs know not everybody is keen on fps killing animations. The interest we have is to keep this add-on free of useless rubbish that would impact its performance. This add-on, unlike others, that cannot cope with systems qualities, does not need any nice to have eye candy animations to be what it claims to be: the best simulated 737 out there!!! it is a master piece as such and no distraction is needed. as many stated, if you would try to master what is in this X-Plane jewel, you wouldn't even have the time to go outside of the cabin to watch "flex", on my side I would not even miss any objects outside of the cockpit... too much to do in the cockpit, but that is just assuming you actually fly this thing and are not touching yourself watching the plane land by itself in Autoland mode. and if you still miss those, I would recommend you take on some other sim/ad-on combination to satisfy your very personal need for aviation-pornography! Have a look at JAR, they do some very nice ones, or the classic FSX/Aerosoft-cartoon-plane-on-the-rails-simulators. But please guys, stop the rubbish about wingflex. There are more important things to fix.

yeah and I want my desk, chair and office walls to vibrate with it and all that good stuff too

I suggest you ask this in the IXEG forum: http://forums.x-pilot.com/forums/forum/169-ixeg/

a) looking fwd to the video, promised I won't even try resisting if it is as you describe :-) b ) I find this very convenient, but as a little negative side effect, if you add up the cost to have SMP, RWC and FSGRW, the total cost for decent weather is rather undecent :-) c) I find X-Aviation's XP 11 transition policy very customer friendly!

what??? no coffee ordering system integrated into the intercom? I was hoping to be able to order a drink when my wife is around

Neither am I, and forgive my intrusion on this but I do use Active Sky Next when I have a weakness and need a lazy flight in a slightly cartoonish scenery filled environment with the nice 777 in P3D. For my more action loaded 737 Classic flights I use FSGlobal Real Weather with Real Weather Connector & SkyMaxx Pro 3 (a bit of a long road to have clouds represented in a decent way, but that's the XPlane way for me at the moment) . At first sight, it does provide that weather data needed for this FMC import thingy: FLIGHT PLAN KLAX - KSFO KLAX 128 ft DOCKR 1 770 ft 2 nm 00:01 255° 122°/ 5 kt 23 °C - EVOSE 3 412 ft 2 nm 00:01 264° 313°/ 3 kt 19 °C - MKGEE 7 761 ft 7 nm 00:02 264° 331°/ 4 kt 13 °C - MUELR 12 881 ft 12 nm 00:02 269° 244°/ 7 kt 5 °C M FIXIT 15 286 ft 7 nm 00:01 301° 229°/ 12 kt 2 °C M IKAYE 18 136 ft 10 nm 00:01 354° 246°/ 17 kt -2 °C L SCHOR 22 714 ft 20 nm 00:03 301° 249°/ 31 kt -11 °C - RZS 27 375 ft 24 nm 00:03 300° 242°/ 54 kt -25 °C - T/C 36 000 ft 52 nm 00:07 318° 245°/ 79 kt -45 °C - PEGRS 36 000 ft 13 nm 00:02 318° 245°/ 79 kt -45 °C - ZONAL 36 000 ft 13 nm 00:02 318° 245°/ 79 kt -45 °C - T/D 36 000 ft 45 nm 00:06 318° 241°/ 79 kt -46 °C - BSR 31 761 ft 13 nm 00:02 318° 240°/ 74 kt -37 °C - CARME 25 000 ft 20 nm 00:03 325° 236°/ 55 kt -21 °C L ANJEE 19 700 ft 18 nm 00:02 347° 241°/ 28 kt -12 °C - SKUNK 15 000 ft 16 nm 00:02 348° 229°/ 36 kt -3 °C - BOLDR 11 516 ft 10 nm 00:02 348° 241°/ 34 kt 4 °C M MENLO 4 667 ft 18 nm 00:04 348° 280°/ 15 kt 14 °C M KSFO 13 ft 14 nm 00:05 311° 260°/ 13 kt 15 °C M 316 nm 00:51 AVG TRIP WIND: 246°/ 49kt AVG CRUISE WIND: 243°/ 79kt AVG HEADWIND COMPONENT: 9 kts AVG TRIP TEMPERATURE: -21 °C AVG TRIP TEMP ISA DEV: 13 °C AVG CRUISE TEMPERATURE: -46 °C AVG CRUISE TEMP ISA DEV: 11 °C It would be interesting to understand if FSGlobal is willing to invest further into XP and who knows, it could be a good catalyst for additional sales in the iXEG market for them... I pretend Active Sky Next saw their sales figures increase significantly after teaming up with PMDG for that innovative feature. But then, your statement in brackets... If we end up having all possible low priority features, will we ever use them? will we not overload the sim and hit our performance? on my usual short flights, the differences you will have in the PROG page if you compare times and fuel consumption, will be small, on an eight hours jump over the Atlantic however, that information can be very valuable. I prefer to have all the high priority first, and then why not, adding a few highlights if there is still some head-room just thinking :-)

+1 worst is JAR seems to ignore incompatibility with IXEG. Love the JAR Airbusses, but am done for now with their ground operations plugins
-
I thought it would be interesting in this thread as it was started asking about co-routes generation, unless it would offend any forum rules of course. I am curious to know if this tool could help me solve my planning hurdles and give added value with take off performance etc etc. when configuring my 737-300 and most important, windows desktop app, as I am not really a Mac guy :-(
-
I suppose when you're stating standalone version being developped (after iphone) you refer to the windows desktop version ? thanks
-
are you looking for a reply from IXEG? I would love that export module in PFPX too, but I think it would be better to contact PFPX, after all they need to make sure there is a ixeg export feature, and not one of those workarounds that gets broken after the next update of the bird. That said, I know PFPX are not very reactive.

looks like you had that debate already but this was not about telling anyone how they should run their business, first time I landed here I asked myself this very same question. believe it or not, marketing can bring you some new customers, just needs to be done right
-
I would suggest to change that portal front page to display the forum index where indeed there is a lot of activity with latest posts etc when clicking on the forum link from the x-aviation page you get news from February, and there I do slightly agree that it seems a bit outdated at first sight

same here initially, just tried to install RWC ( upon updating SMP 3.2.2 in latest 10.50 beta 7.) but did not work... I looked up latest RWC setup in my downloads and it worked! make sure you really use latest version of RWC, mine still says ( ? ) RWC 1.0 although i am pretty sure they updated it since launch at least once
