  1. Ive never known software declared beta or not, to not be beta. There is always bugs to fix and improvements to be made at least is not costing us $80 000 to fix which it is costing our company to do a firmware upgrade, on some hardware we spent millions on.
  2. Than you as a software developer would also know that most issues get out when the software is released into the wild and on the general user machines. I simply found a way that works and will live with it till it gets better. I guess I am just old and patient.
  3. What did you expect, you could just do as I said above, its a new thing, even the guy who has being doing the freeware is struggling with performance issues, Now it is here it can get sorted, that is usually what happens when new things are tried,if Laminar are involved it will improve as they do want better weather.
  4. I just simply disabled the volumetric in the cumulus and i got my FPS back teh other volumetric clouds dont seem to cause such a great hit. Also let me push my AA back up.
  5. It may not necessarily be Skymax, you have a couple of plugins that may be the instigator. Try it without ground traffic etc
  6. Thats nice, but I never expected it to be perfect out the box, in fact the guy who is doing the freeware version of volumetric clouds is discussing how difficult it is to get right with little FPS hit. But now we have them there is opportunity for things to improve as new techniques are discovered. But I must ask GPUS have Physics engine, never discussed, can that be used to off load some of the workload from CPU.
  7. Well I found if i set the Cumulus to the standard clouds I get my FPS back the other ones seem to not cause me an issue, but its nice all the same
  8. May well be teh AMD drivers they never very good.
  9. As i posted AA is the issue, if these are doing multiple levels it could be why the hit is bigger than the freeware as I think (could be wrong) they only do one. intruiged..
  10. Definitely AA dropped it 2 notches 2 Xfaa+ and im getting 60 fps, cant go any lower my shadows playup
  11. There are freeware volumetric clouds and the ydo cause a hit, using this version gave me some of my FPS back till it was broke, But they will fix the issue, But than I only run 1080, have no reason to go higher, as was put to you every thing comes at a cost, you want pretty some thing has to go.
  12. @Cameron installed, going for bike ride before gets to hot, let you know how it goes. Thanks for all the good work
  13. Oh ok didnt know there was one I will let you know. Cheers
  14. Not sure but im running same flight, see how it goes today. It was at sunrise but 5.01 had no issues at all.
  15. The funny thing om 5.01 same flight had no FPS hit at all, even V5.0 was fine
  16. Not sure what happened could be a driver update but last version of SMP killed my FPS was down as low as 15 above , 20 when in clouds. Previous version was fine in the 30s. Ill have another go when its cooler and see what happens Log.txt
  17. Do you have xsaitek panels plugin installed
  18. I went to a 2070 from a 1070, wasnt expecting much but I pretty much run AA 1 notch below max, these clouds do make your card work hard thats for sure.
  19. I am running XPrealistic and its working fine, getting 37 FPS but thats only because the 170 FMS steals 15 of them
  20. There is a link on th xsaitek panels download site youll find one there https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/category/182-xsaitekpanel-configurations/
  21. Yes i have posted pic showing frame rates further back be interesting to compare. Actually do cause minor stutters when panning outside with wall to wall clouds but ok inside, really puts a load on GPU. Hopefully these will be more fps friendly.
  22. I just went from 1070 to 2070 there helped me run AA at higher setting maybe a 5 fps gain, 1070 should be fine but more like 50 FPS. but than anything above 30 is fine as far as I can see.
  23. If its more efficient than what I use at present it will be good, it very GPU intensive, not RAM but performance wise.
  24. This is SkyMaxx v4 with 10700K RTX 2070, plane MCDU gives me only a 7 FPS hit and I have horizon to horizon freeware volumetric clouds. 38FPS
