  1. The Blonde Pilot..... This is the story of the poor dizzy blonde flying in a two-seater airplane with just the pilot. The pilot has a heart attack and dies. She, frantic, calls out a May Day. "May Day! May Day! Help me! Help me! My pilot had a heart attack and is dead. And I don't know how to fly. Help me! Please help me!" She hears a voice over the radio saying: "This is Air Traffic Control and I have you loud and clear. I will talk you through this and get you back on the ground. I've had a lot of experience with this kind of problem. 'Now, just take a deep breath. Everything will be fine! Now give me your height and position." She says, "I'm 5'4" and I'm in the front seat." "O.K." says the voice on the radio.... "Repeat after me: Our Father. . Who art in Heaven. . . ...."

  3. The Flight Plan option does not currently function on the PFD. Once you have entered all the waypoints there are no other steps except to set yourself up to fly the plan. See the POH for further details. Yes, currently the only method to enter a flight plan is using the "Ready Pad". The joystick ONLY changes the map range. NO, you're not hoping for too much , those features are just not currently implemented. Glad to see your enjoying the aircraft. Keep an eye out for future updates. Jim
  4. This issue has been resolved and will be available in the next update of the Corvalis. Should be soon. Thanks for your patience. Jim
  5. Tim, The FMS is functional. See Pg. 137 of the POH for instructions on entering a flight plan. Jim
  6. Al, Glad you got it worked out! Enjoy the aircraft. Jim
  7. Al, I flew direct from LEBL to the RES (REUS 114.20) VOR and was unable to recreate the behavior you described. Make sure you set the CDI pointer to the appropriate radial. If you want to go direct to a VOR the easiest thing to do is "press" the center of the CRS/BARO Knob and it will set (center) the CDI needle to point directly to the VOR (as tuned in the NAV1 radio). Hope this helps... let me know how you make out. Jim
  8. Send a support request to X-Aviation... http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/contact_us.php
  9. I cannot reproduce this on my system. I believe they are still ironing out some issues with video cards/drivers in XP10. I would suggest you report this to Laminar. Jim

I have been testing the Corvalis in XP10 but I have not seen the problem that you describe. Does this happen every time you load the Corvalis or was it just once?

  12. Thanks Goran. I have this video and it is awesome! Part of the flight tutorial included with the Corvalis somewhat follows the first part of the flight on this video! Jim
  13. You should not need to update Gizmo.. it is installed when you update to the most recent version of the aircraft. 1.) Was version 1.3 running OK for you before? 2.) If you can recreate this problem could you please provide the"exact" steps you took. 3.) Are you running Windows or Mac ? Which version of the OS ? 4.) What version of X-Plane are you running? Jim
  14. I think a new install is a good idea. As no one else has reported this problem it sounds like something is corrupt and/or missing from your installation. Let us know how you make out. Jim
  15. I'm not sure what's going on. No one else has reported this problem. Does this happen every time you use the Corvalis? As for the textures... It looks like the screenshot you attached was taken in 2D mode. If you have a monitor/window that is larger than the Corvalis 2D panel (2048 x 1920) then XP will "stretch-to-fit" and you can lose some clarity of the texture(s). I have attached a screenshot (similar to yours) that shows the texture/fonts when they are not stretched... you can see they look much better. I may improve on the textures in a future version as well. Jim
  16. If you had looked into this more deeply you would have found that the airlines are providing a set of all documents in paper form per aircraft. This way the pilots no longer have to carry their own set of paper documents. So the pilots have a lighter load, the aircraft has a light load, but there is paper backup if necessary. Besides, your scenario is highly unlikely
  17. Sorry, that is my fault... I forgot to rename the plugin signature when I compiled version 1.3. It sounds like your setup is OK. In any event it appears that everything is working for you at this point. If you have any further problems please let us know. Regards, Jim
  18. Wait!... you should have JGXC400v1.3, not v1.2... are you sure that is right?
  19. I would suggest you contact Cameron at X-Aviation using... http://www.x-aviatio.../contact_us.php, and describe your situation. They can help you get re-activated. Jim
  20. This should only occur if the aircraft has not been properly "authorized". When did you buy the Corvalis?
  21. Jess, This is an issue within X-Plane itself. When setting XP to start with the engines "OFF" the avionics are NOT turned "OFF" when XP starts up. So, when the aircraft is loaded the avionics fan is running. As soon as XP sets the battery(s) to "OFF" the avionics fan stops working even though the avionics are still set to "ON". That is why you hear the fan running for a brief time. Jim
  22. Jess, Just to be sure... the latest update of the Corvalis is 1.3. I have checked the "whirring" sound for the avionics... I can not reproduce the problem as you describe it. Perhaps it is another "sound" you are referring to? Please try this... Run X-Plane and load the Corvalis. Pull the mixture to shut down the engine. You should be able to hear the "whirring" sound of the avionics. To confirm just click on the "avionics" rocker switch to shut the avionics "OFF" and you should hear the whirring sound slowly diminish. Let me know what you find. Regards, Jim
  23. Jess, The FMS/GPS issue is something I am working on. I can not give you an exact date when this will be resolved. As for the other issues.... There is no reason the MFD should be displaying traffic intermittently. If the "TRAFFIC" key is depressed then the traffic should be visible (if it is within the current range). Traffic is set to "OFF" at startup. "Your" MFD settings are not, and never were, saved between sessions of loading the Corvalis. I have not had a chance to look into the "whirring" of the avionics but there is no reason why that sound would "shut down" after the Corvalis loads unless the avionics switch is "OFF". Jim
