mraviator, Sorry to hear your having problems, the FMS takes a little getting used to Try this and let me know what happens. Press the INIT Key and then press Direct To Key. After that enter your first waypoint and then press the ENTER KEY. The FPL Window should now show the correct Bearing and Distance. Let me know how it goes. Jim

Why does the prop rpm knob move by itself?
JGregory replied to coralsaw's topic in General Discussion
coralsaw, The problem has been fixed. I want to give Cameron a little bit of time to catch up on some other things and then we will release an update. Figure within then next 10-14 days. Thanks for your patience. Jim -
artoor, Please make sure the plugin is in the proper folder (JGX_C400_1.10/plugins/JGX_C400_1.10) and not in the (X-Plane/Resources/Plugins) as Zach described above. Jim

Announcing the release of Real Environment Xtreme for X-Plane!
JGregory replied to Cameron's topic in General Discussion
The product page at X-Aviation says "Download (Windows Only - Mac Soon)". So, it seems to me they expect to have a Mac version, they are just not sure when. What else do you think they should say? -
Why does the prop rpm knob move by itself?
JGregory replied to coralsaw's topic in General Discussion
Hey guys, I have resolved the problem. I will need to discuss this with Cameron to see how he wants to handle getting the fix out to customers. Thanks for your input on this. As Zach said, use the F3 and F4 Keys for now and that should work. Jim -
Why does the prop rpm knob move by itself?

Guys, I am looking into this and will let you know as soon as I can. Jim -
Cameron is out of town (I think until tomorrow), so be patient and he will get this resolved foe you. Jim

Daniel, Although the map light slider moves, the actual lights are not simulated. This would best be done with 3D lighting but I am already using all of the 3D lights (3) available in Planemaker. If they add more 3D lights in the future then I will model the map lights. Jim

Mick, The C400 fuel calculator needs to be reset any time you "refuel". Press (and hold) the "RST FUEL" Softkey on the MFD (lower right) after you refuel and that should reset your fuel used. Jim
-
Zach, Step 3 of the installation and download instructions stated... 3. Inside of your currently installed Cessna Corvalis aircraft folder you'll find a folder called: "plugins". Open this folder and delete the folder named "JGX_C400v1.00". Jim
-
Giampiero, Check the contents of your plugins folder (for the C400 ) to make sure that you updated it correctly. Inside the plugins folder there should be another folder named "JGX_C400_1.10" and inside that folder there should be two files, one named mac.xpl and the other named win.xpl. Also, as Zach has outlined above, make sure you have the plugins folder inside the aircraft (C400) folder and not in X-Plane/Resources/plugins. Jim

Giampiero, No, at this point DO NOT remove the patch. I will get back to you. Jim

stardust, I tested this using the latest version of the C400 (1.1). I started up the sim an loaded the C400 and set the fuel tank to "right". I then loaded the stock C172 and the fuel tank was set at both and I was able to set it to left, right, both, or off with no problem. So, as you can see, I am not seeing the same behavior. Can you tell me a little more about your setup? Are you using XP 9.50, or something earlier? Also are you running on a Mac or Windows? If anyone else can test this I would appreciate it. Jim

Startdust, I will look into this a little later today. Jim

PFD vario needle doesn't work in 3D cockpit mode
JGregory replied to Lukasz's topic in Cessna Corvalis
artoor, The "duplicate waypoints" (selector) option is not yet simulated. This is planned for a future update. Jim -
You are right, sorry about that Step 11 should say repeat "steps 5 through 10". Jim
-
Jens, I'm not sure what's happening with that. The C400 now resets all cockpit lighting to 0.75 (default) on unload of the aircraft, so we may have to wait and see what Tom says about this. It's really not an x-aviation products problem as this will happen with any X-Plane add-on aircraft with plugin control of the lighting if they do not set the lighting on load and unload of the aircraft. PFD vario needle doesn't work in 3D cockpit mode
JGregory replied to Lukasz's topic in Cessna Corvalis
lis, OK, now I see. The VSI animation is a known issue that I hope to address in a future release. The actual Vertical Speed (LED) is shown however, so you should have no problem flying in 3D. Yes, there are other aircraft with ADF/DME data displays on the PFD. The G1000 in the C400 does not have this. However, you can program an NDB into the FMS for navigation. and your distance will be displayed on the PFD in the NavStat window and the ETE will be displayed in the MFD Navstat window. Distance for the leg or cumulative distance is also available in the FPL window. Hope this helps. Jim -
PFD vario needle doesn't work in 3D cockpit mode
JGregory replied to Lukasz's topic in Cessna Corvalis
lis, I'm not clear on what you mean by the "vario needle" ... could you describe this more? The alt units is something I am considering as a future enhancement. There is no ADF gage in the "real life" G1000 version for the Corvalis, (or did you mean something else) ? I'm glad you're enjoying the aircraft. Jim -
Daniel, The Alternate Static Air should be left in the "NORM" position in most cases. The only time it is used is if the Static Port becomes blocked, at which time you would switch to "ALT". Jim
-
Daniel, Thanks for the nice comments. I am glad your enjoying the aircraft. The Alternate Static Air and Heated Induction Air provide alternate sources in the event of icing or other blovkage. The Heated Induction Air is described in detail in the POH pg. 83. X-Plane does simulate failure (blockage) of the Alternate Static Air port but does not simulate the Heated Induction Air. The ELT is not simulated. Many of the gages (needles, bars, pointers, LEDs, etc.) will turn yellow or red when the values they represent fall into the corresponding range on the gage scale. When leaning the mixture (using the "ASSIST" page of the MFD) the values may rise into the yellow or even the red range (which is OK momentarily) and you should continue to lean the mixture to bring these values back below the yellow range (approx. 50-75 degrees lean of peak). This is also described in more detail in the POH. The view in the real plane is actually quite good. You may want to adjust your FOV in the rendering settings. The page up and page down keys will also allow you to move closer to/farther away from the cockpit panel, which may also help. I hope this helps. Jim

yes, this way round is working fine. thank you all for listening. looking forward to the coming updates :-) EDIT What do you think about the GPS in the SeaMax, that sometimes becomes completely inoperative? Similar issue that would get fixed by your plugin modifications? Jens Jens, I will be modifying the C400 plugin so that when you are using the C400 you can select any aircraft and you will have no problems with the lighting. I'm not sure about the SeaMax, you may need to ask Javier. There may also be issues with the battery/avionics if they are modified by a plugin. Tom asked me about this and I think he is looking into it further. Thanks again for your feedback. Jim
-
Tom, Would it also be a good idea to set/reset all the values of the same Datarefs on "startup" of the plugin for "your" aircraft, thus insuring that no matter what any other aircraft plugin does "yours" will always work as designed? Jim
-
Jens, As Tom has pointed out the lights are not reset automatically by X-Plane. Therefore these values need to be reset by the plugin of the current aircraft when you choose to open/select a new aircraft that does not control the lighting values on startup. Apparently Tom has already done this with the Falco. Also, you should have no problem going from any other aircraft to the C400 as all instrument and panel lights are controlled/set by the C400 plugin. I will also modify the C400 plugin to reset the panel and instrument lights to 0.75 when you are going from the C400 to any other aircraft. Thanks for the input. Jim
