  1. Hi, Simon, Thanks for the compliments! The release date is soon...very soon!
  2. Hi, Mirko, Thanks for the enthusiasm! When we have news to share, this will be the place to find it. Until then, just assume everyone is working as hard as possible to get this product done!
  3. Hello, all!, It is with great excitement that we are ready to release more info on our upcoming Northern California release. This release will be the first dubbed as a RealScenery Enhanced product. In brief, our Enhanced series of sceneries will introduce many new and exciting features (many of which have been long time requests). Here's what you can expect in RealScenery Enhanced products: Airport/Runway/Taxiway alignment - All airports within Enhanced packages will now line up right over the imagery! Night lighting - As has been seen here in some earlier previews, Enhanced products will include night lighting produced by our own custom software to match the underlying terrain. This includes, but not limited to: Roads, Sports Parks, Parking Lots, proper differentiation between urban and rural areas, and more! Road Alignment - We have gone the extra distance here and created custom roads that are extremely accurate to true life, and we have enabled it so the underlying imagery is the road surface you see. No more flickering roads...just a lot of cars, and very little FPS impact...go ahead and crank up those roads to "Totally Insane!"...you know you want to! More to be announced... It wouldn't be proper to announce this and not show some more progression screenshots... Note the cars on the roads: Higher resolution imagery than all of our previous standard state packages: Custom night lighting to bring out the night owls in all of us!: Great for sight seeing! Race the cars if you want to!: We'll see ya soon! For those of you that wish to see a quick sneak peak of the cars in action, I have compiled a SMALL video clip in the evening showing how much more realism they add. It really is fun to fly around in the sim with them! A suggestion: View the video in HD on youtube's site, and in full screen to get a better feel!

    Project 3

If you break up the fuse or other sections of the plane into multiple obj files then you can still achieve the hi-res result. Whether or not your computer will love you for it is a whole other story.
  5. Believe it or not, we really get minimal DRM key issues, and a ton of tech support stuff. Most common issues are improper installations of the plug-in, or people asking why the plane rolls so much, etc. It's generally stuff covered by the manual that people don't read, but such is life! Our response times on average are 15 minutes or less 24hrs a day. Sometimes it falls a little longer, but not by much. This is part of our commitment to our customers that we care to give a good experience. The DRM does allow for a demo version. In fact, we created one for the MU-2, however, given that the technology within the demo would essentially be the same as the real one to "lock" it unless you buy, it enables people who ARE willing to try and crack it a free shot without having to invest their money and taking the risk of not being able to crack it should that have been their intention. As such, it was decided against releasing such a demo.
  6. To be quite frank, it wasn't ever considered...a long time ago. We have vouched OURSELVES internally to change this with a new web design coming forward. It is right that people know and are aware of what they are getting into. We have no intention of deceit. This is already done, and is in trusted peoples hands should someone like myself have something go wrong. Of course, this will never be seen in the wild UNLESS something goes wrong. We have also taken an EXTRA step further and implemented it so that X-Aviation backs up and has a key generation system on Google's servers...if X-Aviation ever goes out of business, Google is there to save the day. If Google goes under, I think the end of the web would be near. It's honestly about as safe as it gets, and the problems you see typical today where people aren't able to activate a product because someone is out of business is NOT a problem you will ever experience from X-Aviation whether we're in business or not. As said, we believe that if you paid for it, it IS yours for as long as you wish.
  7. Each product has a different license according to developer wishes. Such licenses can be found in the documentation of purchased products, but the bare minimum is that the product can only be used on one computer at a time per key issued. When first purchased, you are issued one key for a single machine. We issue additional keys on a case by case basis if a message is sent in to us. We realize many people have a laptop and desktop (or even a Mac and a PC), so we can accommodate this. See above. If you decide to upgrade your computer you are also free to get a new key set and de-activate your old one. A lot of people do upgrades to their computers to keep up with the times, so it only makes sense we allow this. Again, see reply above. In short, the answer is "No," you don't have to re-buy the product. You already paid for it, so you're entitled to use it for as long as you like.
  8. A number of us (including myself) have made this our only living. It was quite evident the DRM was doing its job. When X-Plane was no longer able to run the MU-2 properly without the updated flight model and new programming that was only available in the DRM version, people were left to buy it if they wanted to continue to enjoy it. It was a very short timespan (couple of days) from the time the torrent started to the DRM version release. It was also then that sales regained normal status and more. For the record, I take no offense to what you or anyone else has said. Just as you say what you see and feel, I do the same. We're all entitled to have an opinion and a voice. In regards to effectiveness: My personal belief is DRM only works effectively in such niche markets. A lot of people (and I mean no offense by this) who are torrent users are the very young crowd from 12+. These are people with no jobs and usually rely on their parents to give them money. If the product is available on a torrent then it's free to them and they don't have to risk having their parent(s) saying "No" to getting something they want. If it's not available on a torrent, then they go to the one financially responsible and pop the question. Additionally, there are just those people that will check torrents to save a buck, and buy it if they have to. I think DRM is pointless in markets with products that every person out there wants. Such products that fall into this category are Operating Systems and Adobe products. There are simply way too many people willing to crack the software which allows those that truly use torrents to do so, and then Those that are truly honest will stay honest. In the world of X-Plane we haven't hit that crowd yet, but as we continue to grow our market and customer base we may hit this road block. At that time it may be something we'll need to re-evaluate, but as it stands now our system works, and prevents what it's supposed to. Best, Cameron
  9. For the record, this feature of automated re-activation is being implemented in future products. Even more is in sim activation rather than having to use your web browser in addition to X-Plane. Now, here's the deal: We've been through this topic time and time again, and in fact this topic itself is quite old. That said, we will not be shedding the DRM, so this topic is essentially moot. HOWEVER, it is important that people understand that we are always working out ways to make the experience as painless as possible. As it stands now the DRM takes about two minutes or less to activate. With the new automation it will be even less, and it's extremely painless. We're pretty easy going about the additional licenses as well. The arguments made here about people using torrents not willing to buy is something I completely disagree with. After all, the product had to legitimately be purchased by somone for it to eventually get in the wild somehow! We went the route of a non-DRM release initially with the MU-2. It went well until a week later when someone purchased the MU-2 legitimately and then put it up for the world on torrents. We lost great revenue during this time and upgraded the MU-2 to work on a new version of X-Plane in addition to implementing DRM. Needless to say (and rather assuredly at that) the MU-2 sales revived at a rather rapid rate and we were able to attempt to make our living off of this. Like it or not, it's here to stay. If you're against it, we respect you and you're reasonings. If you're wanting a great experience in X-Plane and wish to continue having great add-ons churn out, then this is our way of "job security." As much as I truly wish I could say otherwise, I can't. We have done our very best to keep support requests on DRM issues down to a minimum, often answering back within minutes to show our customers we DO care about your needs, and we respect you just the same as much as we respect our own security measures. Best Regards, Cameron
  10. Hi, Jimmy, Welcome to the forums! Please see my reply on page 10 of this topic at the top of the page here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=378.msg3837#msg3837
  11. In one of the bottom right areas of the joystick button assignments window (pretty much the last assignments available in the window) I see buttons for autopilot up and down. This is for version 9.44.
  12. Hey...thanks for this! Very cool app...definitely keeping it on my HD!
  13. Okay, I have to comment...sorry! First and foremost: What's the purpose of your post or disappointment? If you're going to be negative or hopeful, at least back yourself up. Sorry, but there's no point otherwise. Let this first be clear that this response is NOT coming out because it's associated to me. It's a general statement I have because I've seen other people speak of this and frankly, I just don't understand why. It's not many who do complain about it, but never the less, the complaint is there when it's there... What's so disappointing about this? The 3D in a "2D" view looks plenty fine to me...always has regardless of the plane I've flown. One difference here is that this aircraft will go the extra mile and give you the pre-sets to allow you the zoomed in functionality of a similar 2D view AND you get pop-ups! The 3D as 2D also allows manipulator functionality (something the CRJ uses in great numbers). Going off another post of your own, you stated: If such is the case, then manipulators are a step in the right direction. As such, 2D panels are out of the picture, and 3D takes over as 2D. Given the massive amount of manipulators "programmed" into this aircraft, I would think this would plenty suit someone like yourself well. All the above said, if you feel you're going to be disappointed, don't buy it. We all certainly love the business, but even more is that we want happy customers. If it's something you're going to have grief over then maybe this aircraft is NOT for you.
  14. Kamil, Goodway should work just fine. However, I have heard some people being disappointed in response times as of late for their serial key with Goodway, so you may want to try another program. If you're on Windows I highly suggest FSBuild. It exports X-Plane flight plans, and is available here: http://secure.simmarket.com/ernie-alston-fsbuild-2.phtml As for plug-in compatibility: There are simply too many of them out there to test and they are not prioritized on our list. However, I would assume MOST plug-ins will work just fine with the CRJ.
  15. Mirko, You shouldn't have any problems running the CRJ at this resolution.
  16. I don't think Garrett meant any harm, Kaphias. Most forums don't allow self deletion, and it would be rather peculiar of a moderator to delete the post in question, so I can see the cause for concern on Garrett's part. Either way, I'm sure Ola has his reasoning for deleting his own post. It may well have to do with respect to those involved. Best, Cameron
  17. I believe there was an additional post from Ola, however it appears he has decided to delete his own post for whatever reason. You're allowed to do that on your own will in some categories here...
  18. Hi, Joe, It's our every intention to keep people informed, but we must also tread lightly on this as well. A lot of times excitement for a product leads to disappointment for the consumer if even an estimated release date is given and it's not met. We started doing this earlier on, but got some of this excitement turned disappointment and have since stopped giving any kind of dates. As such, the only news you'll hear from now on is concrete details that are finished or ready to be seen, like in the videos. With the above said, the programming is coming along very nicely. It's nearly done, but I'm not about to peg a percentage value on it just to be on the safe side. We have had no unforeseen problems per se, but fine tuning instead. Anton has worked very hard to ensure that we get the maximum FPS possible when running the plug-in, so a few times we've had to go back to the drawing board and figure out the best way how to display things in an efficient manner. Needless to say, we're passed this hurdle. As has been stated in numerous other posts...when there's something of note to share, this will be the place to find it. Until then, it's best to assume we're working hard to get this done with the least bugs and best performance possible for our customers. We have a reputation to follow, and we anticipate on keeping that reputation good. We do appreciate the excitement. In fact, we're very excited ourselves! However, with quality comes time, and with time comes the requirement of patience. It's coming...soon, but not tomorrow!

    Airbus 320

Henrik, I do believe Torsten is doing a great job on his project and wish him luck, however, we (Anton) have a fairly good base of the A320 systems started, and in order to keep costs down, it's better to utilize our own resources and not add more people to a team. This in turn, makes the product cheaper for you as a customer. Economics is the reason for keeping talent up, and group size down!
  20. AIRAC data will be provided by: http://www.navdata.at/ It is up to you as a user to keep it up to date by subscribing to their service should you choose to.
