    some questions

Tom, More on metar scanning and updates later. It seems you may be misunderstanding what I have said, but I am on the road and have limited time to answer at the moment. REX weather vs. XP's real weather: yes, the REX weather download is much more accurate than that of X-Plane's.

    some questions

Hi, Tom, Nothing will continue to load after you close REX if you choose to do so. If kept open it would replace the use of X-Plane downloading weather ona consistent basis and use the REX download data instead. Remember that a weather file does NOT pertain to just one area, but rather the single file it grabs for weather pertains to the entire world. So, with that said, if you download weather in REX, load up Los Angeles, and fly to New York the weather will change as per real data from the metar.

    some questions

Hi, there, Everything Kesomir has stated is correct. In regards to metar: It will update and use the real wx during your entire flight. The initial texture set install is to determine the best theme and combination of textures for the wx in the specified area and and some surroundings.
  4. Hi, Simon, Happy to see and hear you're a happy camper! Thanks for the compliments on the install process. Enjoy your REX flights!
  5. Hi, there, As little or much time as we may have on the project to complete it, we're not prone to give any form of specific or even estimated release times. When we have anything to post this will most certainly be the place to find it!
  6. Hi, Rush, Please see here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=543.0
  7. Hi, Max, You're absolutely correct. Fixed.
  8. Hi, Kamil, I'm afraid Linux will probably not be in the future for a product like REX. The market demand is just not present there to warrant the investment and upfront costs for a team like REX. Someday this may change, but for now, I think it's safe to say "no."
  9. Hi, Mick, REXPlane does not include ground textures. It is a weather enhancement system with some new applications in place that not even MSFS utilize at the moment. If the interest in the product is there, it has been said that REX will consider expanding as wide as has been seen with some of their previous products.
  10. Get ready to experience a new era in flight simulation experience for X-Plane! Real Environment Simulations is pleased to announce that Real Environment Xtreme for X-Plane, has been released today. Real Environment Xtreme uses the newest hi-definition technology to bring the most realistic environment to the X-Plane platform. This new technology includes state-of-the-art photography processes, mapped to various cloud and sky textures that gives a true volumetric feel to the X-Plane world. This REX HD technology has been crafted, refined, and proven over a three year process. Real Environment Xtreme for X-Plane also offers a new Weather Synthetic Texture Processing feature that allows REX to craft the best textures for the weather situation and then uses its new Weather Data Server (WDS) to synthesize the metar reports to give the best representation of the weather within X-Plane. If this wasn't enough we have included a new Weather Avoidance Tool that provides global weather conditions for precipitation, lightning, turbulence/shear and icing. Real Environment Xtreme is available for purchase for X-Plane from X-Aviation: http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=55
  11. To clarify on this point for those that have not yet purchased...there are different settings you can try out based on your computer specs. This includes a selection for smaller textures should you choose that option in the configuration of REX.
  12. Hi, Alex, It's listed under the software category. Cheers!

  18. Hi, All, We'd like to show some in sim progress shots as we get closer to the release of the Sundowner. Hope you enjoy! Please note: These photos depict work in progress. There are still a few things to add, including glass over instruments and around the cockpit itself! We'll continually update this thread with new pics and progression updates as time permits.
  19. LOL. Too funny! All good and fun.
  20. One of those two. That's a classy shirt, ain't it?
  21. Can't say I know for sure, but sounds like they haven't ran a credit card authorization for your purchase just yet. Give it a few and try it again soon...I'm sure it'll get processed soon enough.
  22. There are some reports of poor frame rates: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=42535&view=findpost&p=498414 There was a lite version released to help compensate for this, but it's on and off as to whether the fps are good or not.
  23. Hi, there, Many of us are running Windows 7, myself included. To add to that, my version is 64-bit. Theoretically, if something works in version 8 of X-Plane on the same machine, it should work straight away in version 9 as well. The main thing I gather here is that you mention the brakes not helping to slow the plane. To me it sounds like there is some movable axis on the joystick configured to operate the throttle, but it is not set correctly. Have you set it to work in reverse by checking the check box to do so when in the axis property section for joysticks? You may need to do this, as it sounds like your 0% throttle is acting as 100% and 100% may be acting as 0%.
  24. Hi, Jim, Yes, FSBuild is Windows only. Good to see Goodway has put their product back up for ordering!
