  1. While this would be nice and may be looked at in with the future, it is also not a high priority item. Our products do not run on any mobile iOS device, whereas a PC and Mac are different stories (which the website and galleries are compatible with). Perhaps some day. Not now.
  2. Thanks again, Jack! This does not sound like "augmented navigational information" to me. It sounds like knob logic by way of datarefs. I understand what you are doing and why, but to the customer here it sounded a bit more sophisticated than you have just outlined (as in some form of actual navigational data was being altered), so I appreciate the clarity here. I now see that such is not the case. Sounds good. I can appreciate anything that simplifies generic load. I guess my confusion was further stemmed from your and Joe's rather contradictory remarks. Joe stated: "Gizmo controls everything that the real life Q400 pilot requires that X-Plane cannot simulate properly, as outlined in our manual. We mostly use it for Systems depth..." You (Jack) came in two posts later with a statement of: "Gizmo controls some rather basic functions that otherwise would not work correctly as in the real Q400." These are two very different things, and from what you have said, it's not so much about true systems "depth" as Joe has outlined, but more about a means to simplify the load of generics, hide/shows, and altering datarefs that X-Plane already provides to you in default systems. I appreciate the candor here, and very much look forward to purchasing your product! I will use Joe's and your own statements here in my first published public review as a base of what to look for in this hopefully great and fun aircraft on the horizon!
  3. Hi, Jack, Thanks for that. So it sounds like default X-Plane systems drive the aircraft, and you alter smaller default systems with setting dataref numbers. It's still fun to see instruments/annunciators change though. Can you please explain this in depth: augmented navigational information to optimize generic instrument count? Also, can you explain the use of the VmoCue logic? Are you drawing with OpenGL, or are you altering X-Plane datarefs to set values on the display?
  4. Joe, I could say this for any aircraft if I wanted to. I'm asking for a detailed list of what you guys have utilized Gizmo for. It is always rewarding to see it used for projects, including this one. What is the most complex system coded with Gizmo for the Q400? What does "systems depth" entail? I'm reading through the manual...I'm not seeing much outside of generics overall, hence why I am asking this question! I want to know what I am going to be buying!
  5. Hey, guys, As this plane runs with Gizmo, can you please go into detail as to what Gizmo controls? It appears almost all of this plane is driven by generics as it stands now. Cross-referencing my Q400 manual it appears that many procedural items are also left out. A detailed description would be awesome!
  6. As Perry has stated, X-Aviation will be the place to purchase when this goes live. We will, of course, update everyone here when it's ready.
  7. The CRJ is not "supposed" to run on any number of cores. It purely takes ADVANTAGE of more cores if you give it more. Two cores WILL run the CRJ fine. Bear in mind that both cores will likely run around 100% (this is good, though...optimization). A CPU with only two cores will run at very warm temperatures, but provided you have a modern case with good ventilation you shouldn't expect any issues. I am currently testing the CRJ on 'Extreme' settings in the resolution screen with a dual core E6850 and an AMD Radeon 5870 video card. On this setup I get about 35 fps. It's very usable.
  8. Never! ;D We enjoy keeping it on our machines only, instead.
  9. Ok, guys... Now that a discussion has been had, I'll re-iterate (and Ben was right in a few areas here): We are very excited to bring this product to market. Even more, we are excited for YOU to get it in your hands and enjoy the immense amount of work that has gone into this to bring it to you! There is nothing more satisfying that watching people enjoy a product that countless hours of devotion have been poured into. Really, it means a lot! We will be releasing manuals when we're comfortable doing so. A lot goes into this, and we're not delaying anything. I know the excitement can make the wait unbearable, but rest assured we are working our tails off to get this to you as quickly as possible. We'll release things as we deem fit, and we promise...we are just as excited as you all here...possibly even more! Thanks for your continued patience and for keeping up on the various topics in these forums. It's been a long road, but the reward for waiting is finally going to be paying off very soon...we promise! Blue skies!
  10. We do plan on making a release of the necessary manuals when we feel they are completely ready for public use. That said, it will all be close proximity to release anyhow, and you won't get a whole lot of lead time. So, yes, we do plan on putting the manuals out ahead of time. In the meantime, we're more concerned about getting this aircraft out to market in a timely manner than anything else, and so that's what we're focused on doing. Let's not let this be a continually repeated question like has been done on the Saab, please. We're just as excited to get this out as everyone else is to fly it.
  11. Broad term and easiest to pick. There are 365 DAYS in a year, after all! :-p In all reality...we're close. Not two days close, but we're close.
  12. Manuals and general distribution setup. Days is applicable.
  13. At this day and time, the sounds are using X-Plane's default sound engine with custom sounds of our own. That said, we just had a discussion yesterday where we are evaluating our options regarding sound at this time to bring the experience full circle. No promises that such an upgrade will be made in time for release day, but if it is you all will be the first to know!
  14. Hi, Kamil, There's little that's not implemented in terms of procedural interactivity aside from what's already said. I think you'd be better off asking a specific question as to what feature you'd be questioning would be implemented rather than a list of this vs that. This aircraft will require you to read in order to do things right...and "right" goes along with the real world manual procedures. We're confident you'll enjoy this aircraft a great degree!
  15. Neither of them are real, but it's a nice effort regardless. The AF one is closest to it, though I believe this is likely an edit of someone's on the web. Not sure I've seen any of the AF 380's in old livery, and that scheme in the photo looks pretty photoshopped.
  16. Incorrect on many levels.
  17. This topic has been moved to Beechcraft Duchess. [iurl]http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=1969.0[/iurl]
  18. Correct. We'll update everyone on this process in short order. Promise.
  19. As showcased in one of the videos, you can make the co-pilot appear or disappear at your leisure.
  20. Rob (crash), Nicolas didn't share frustration. This was joyous news in the form of cancellation for him. He's about to eat his own words, and you should be happy he is considering you had frustration of a supposed cancellation. I simply don't see where you're trying to be fair here. You were frustrated, Nicolas was elated, you were disappointed, Nicolas was pleased. According to what you are saying...you did NOT feel the same way Nicolas did. Nicolas banked on the thought that this project truly was cancelled and took a jab. Now he'll eat his own words. Perhaps in pride, perhaps not. Quite irrelevant now. Nicolas is more than welcome to purchase and receive the same support as anyone else. I don't see why it should or ever would be otherwise. You're lucky this isn't the rant board. I'd be all over this otherwise. Feel free to take it up there. Hope you enjoy your freedom of being allowed to say such things here. So, about that CRJ...
  21. Don't you love it when things backfire and someone has it documented? Whoops!
  22. Things continued on all along from where they left off pretty much the same day we made announcements. Keeping this forum locked and silent was intentional on many levels. We'll have more info in time on those of us who were involved in bringing this thing to fruition. All in due time! Thanks for checking it out!
  23. That won't be happening any time soon if it does.
  24. Hi, guys, The scenery is none of those suggested thus far. One of the suggestions is one that I have a feeling emin and others are speculating are it, however, it is not what is suspected. That said, the Saab is the purpose of discussion for this thread. Please stay on topic. Thank You.
  25. Hi, All, Yes, this has been a project secretly being worked on after our previous cancellation announcement. Keeping things quiet was necessary for a number of reasons and likely has come to a pleasant surprise to many. RC-1 is what we consider a complete product. It is release worthy at first glance, but considered a candidate only, as we may find bugs crop up. We will be doing a closed testing period for an internal set amount of time, and some more news will be released shortly with more info. The release is coming ever closer!
