  1. Wow thanks for the fast reply. And I hope you know, I didn't mean any offense! Also to be clear, I'm talking about the background of the displays, not the bezels and surrounding physical material. As an example, the second image in this link, the black levels behind the engine instruments appear to be more of a gray. You can see it on the PFDs too along the bottom with the multi function buttons, as well as near the top with the radio frequencies and so on... https://flyingpauls.blogspot.com/2018/10/hotstart-socata-tbm-900-first.html And then looking at this real-life image, it's a much truer, deeper black... https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/8885340 Happy to tweak it on my own copy, just wondering if it's a bitmap, or a numerical value in some code somewhere? Thanks again for the quick reply!
  2. Hi everyone, I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the TBM, but for some reason, the black levels of the big center MFD bother me, it appears too light to me (is it just me? anyone else?). Is it possible to change the color values digging into the file structure? Or perhaps editing a bitmap file? Thanks for your input!
  3. Hey everyone, I was just curious because I remember reading somewhere several months ago that with the initial release of the plane, most systems were functional, but there was still some functionality you guys were planning on adding in the future such as the second row of buttons to change the center displays with other info. I can't remember exactly, but doesn't that include doors, lights, surfaces such as flaps and spoilers and so on? I know there's a bunch of buttons and switches on the overhead that don't actually do anything yet as well as switches to the left of the pilot. What are your future plans guys? With my recent purchase of a Saitek flight yoke and throttle quadrant, flying this plane has been awesome. Super happy customer right here.
  4. i can't help but chuckle. ;D thank for the effort though!
  5. I think enough people have reported the same experiences that it confirms the fact that the culprit is somewhere within the 1.1 update. At this point, I suppose all we can do is wait for the team to figure out the problem and do something about it. I guess I'd be lying if I said I wasn't beginning to develop a bitter taste in my mouth considering the premium we paid for the CRJ, but I'm just trying to be patient and give them a little time.
  6. Just tried removing the gizmo plugins. Ran for about 30 seconds then CDT. I don't know what the problem is, kinda sucks because now we can't use this plane at all. Looks like there are other people who are posting similar results with fresh installs of x-plane and the original version of the plane worked fine with my setup and installed plugins (I only have a few anyhow). Have you guys learning anything new on your end?
  7. that's an interesting point. I did notice this gizmo plugin after installing 1.1 which I never noticed before. are you suggesting we remove it from the plugins folder? I'll give it a shot and post my results. that said though, I noticed yesterday on your site a section all about gizmo, what it is and why you guys use it. if the CRJ was coded with it or whatever, then wouldn't it crash the plane to delete th plugin?
  8. having the same problem with ctd. i've attached the crash log. weird thing is i was able to have one normal flight yesterday with v 1.1. even after a restart and removing plugins i still have problems. also i never messed with the files from v1.0 btw. second_crash.doc
  9. i just started watching this but wanted to ask, what plugin are you using for external camera views?
  10. On a lighter note, just curious about something. I notice the number of aircraft functions that are not yet modeled/represented in the CRJ at this time such as the different aircraft system pages for the left center screen and a bunch of switches and so on on the panels. Are there plans to include further functionality in future updates? And just to be clear, this is not any sort of expression of my displeasure with the model, just a simple question is all. Thanks!
  11. you know, I think you're right. after further review of the manual, the tape is the IAS and I guess the MFD is the TAS...i thought that might be the case but then let me ask you this...the speed limits for the different flap settings found in the manual...is that IAS or TAS? Time for more practice landings.
  12. Hey guys, Now I'm not sure if this is normal or whatever that case might be, but in case it is indeed a bug and I'm right, I thought it worth it to post here. I noticed that the airspeed reading on the tape of the PFD doesn't match up the text readout on the MFD...I've posted a screenshot for reference. I first noticed I was having a bit of a hard time with my landings when I was only going off the speed tape, but after I went off of the readout on the MFD, it was much better. Am I mistaken that the tape readout on the PFD is the TAS or no?
  13. in that case, would there be a difference in quality, performance or otherwise between a CRJ-200 created for XP9 used in XP10 versus a CRJ strictly made for XP10?
  14. Thanks for the super fast reply sir! So in other words, the support forum isn't only to complain about bugs in the CRJ, that these questions are okay too? Sweet. So as an example, a flight plan I often use is: KEWR DCT FJC J146 MIP J78 PSB J60 DJB STAR KORD Then looking at the STARS available at KORD on airnav.com, this is what I find... http://www.airnav.com/airport/KORD That last waypoint is DJB or "DRYER", it took some digging but looks like KNOX FOUR is what I'd need, yeah?
