Two questions: 1. HDR on or off? 2. What screen resolution with that video card? I'm going to discuss this a bit more with Laminar this week, but here's the primary deal, folks: HDR has some neat features (especially the night lighting) but is yet to be optimized still to where Laminar wants it. We've made an add-on that's VERY detailed. I don't mean offense to other products, but in most cases I have yet to see a product as detailed in 3D as this one. It's not about proper or improper modeling habits as much as it is pushing the limits and envelope. As with any add-on, we must learn to adjust. I personally have never had much issues (and I've flown the Saab A LOT), but looking back on it, it's probably because over the various X-Plane versions I have felt that HDR has gotten WORSE and not better. The contrast is just one thing that kills it off, and the way that AA renders in it can either be an eyesore or a slideshow in most instances. As such, more often than not these days I leave HDR off unless doing night flights. As the X-Plane market grows and more detailed add-ons come out (especially scenery) we will start to see these issues become even more obvious. Please realize what you're dealing with here. We're only just getting around that curve where we match what people like MSFS have had for years. They have even services and guides just to learn how to optimize your settings because of stuff like this and how big that market is! For now, regretfully, my suggestion is to keep HDR off. I hate to offer this as a suggestion, because I love it when people enjoy our products how YOU want to enjoy them. That said, there are two sides to ever coin, and that's where we are in this juncture of X-Plane development. Luckily, hardware rapidly gets faster and better year and year (if not faster). P.S.: PLEASE don't waste your own time by trying to re-install the Saab with the lower res version. It will NOT improve your FPS if you have a video card that we deciphered can truly handle the higher res version. The only time anyone would notice change is if they have a low res capable version card but did not answer the installer question truthfully and selected higher res instead.

WAIT! One thing I am seeing you miss in what you're telling us is you do not seem to be moving your condition levers out of the START position! You need to advance your levers from START, to UNF, to MAX!

The installer requires a copy of X-Plane 10 to be present. It's somewhat complicated to do it as you want it, because we install everything on your machine (not just the aircraft) to make sure things operate right for you. So you know, the installer does support resume in the instance your connection drops.

Only concerned about ours. Comparing another model is like apples to oranges. Not the same.
-
Thanks. HDR seems to be the biggest common factor between all of you so far.
-
Okay, Can you guys please test switching between various shadow settings and turning off HDR to see what kind of differences this makes?
-
I am almost certain that the global shadows are causing your issues. Please try overlay or 3D aircraft shadows. As usual, HDR is a killer on most systems for the moment too. I alternate between it, but just play with these settings (I personally think HDR is too contrasty in the day anyhow).

If you're running 'Very High' and getting low fps like that, something is amiss. It should be much better. Please post your settings as well. For reference: I run this on an i5 2500k with a 4GB GTX 680 and get 45-50fps on extreme res in most scenarios.

This is not possible to do because our plug-in overrides X-Plane and simulates the engine system itself.

Can you guys post your full computer specs by chance?

X-Aviation Releases Take Command! Saab 340A!
Cameron commented on Cameron's X-Plane flight sim news in Aircraft
Hey, Chris, Check out the AutoStart feature if you don't want to learn how to do it yourself! You'll see a quick start tutorial in your manuals folder. That would be here. -
Even this one has got me before! Let us know how you do!
-
There is a paint kit here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/files/file/564-take-command-saab-340a-paint-kit/

That's fine. Just realize the research and time that went into this. We were granted some pretty nice access to get this stuff right. Any photo will have distortion, especially when we talk about angles and scales. That photo you posted of two pilots on the inside makes it look SO much smaller than it really is.

I don't really have too much to say in here other than having had my eyes bleed out over blueprints and CADs, I disagree. In a simulated environment we have FOV differentials depending on a user by user basis, and depending on your settings things can appear more or less skewed when they are not. If you put the Saab over a manufacturer CAD it's almost unfair how accurate it is. Side window slanting is going to vary depending on weight configuration of the aircraft. The model is accurate. Sorry if you're left upset here. We must be doing something right if it comes down to the size of people sitting in a cockpit.

Hi, All, Here's a quick livery lineup shot of all the liveries included at no additional charge with the Saab 340A! We have also included this shot in our gallery images, but I figured posting here doesn't hurt either. Enjoy!
-
Thanks, Sergio! We appreciate the kind words and enthusiasm!
-
Yes, they are. Ben Supnik to be exact. But you would need a 32-bit plug-in to be able to tell the person "this doesn't work in 32-bit." Can't do that with a 64-bit plug-in. Isn't that the point of the pretty graphics that specify system and X-Plane compatibility on the product page?
-
Great, thanks for reporting back. Also, for new customers, the original issue has been solved and things are working 100% normal again.
-
Great, thanks! Did you run Livery Manager and fix this?
-
I take it you are on Windows, and selected a 2GB or higher video card...is that assumption correct? I am fixing this now (due to new installer I uploaded). In the meantime, you can fix this yourself by loading up the Livery Manager located in the Aircraft/X-Aviation/Saab 340A folder and selecting United Express for install!

My personal favorite livery!
