I doubt it will be on Steam, really. It's branded Microsoft. I don't see anything else there. Yes, a few games, like GTA IV, needs Games for Windows to play online and such, but that's a whole other story. I would be surprised if this won't be distributed through their own Games for Windows application and website. And since it's free, other's who care enough to spread the gospel, like IGN and such will host the files too.

Goran, I was cleaning up in a few folders here, and I found this awesome render I made back when this still was a hot topic. How's this project going?
-
Yes they will both work. In fact, the CRJ already got a patch to 1.3 which is, if I understood it correct, a patch which adds a bit of XP10 features to it. The MU-2 will be patched soon. Tom has said "as fast as possible". We're all looking forward to it!

I'm using LightWave, and don't know (or care) crap about Blender, so placing lights isn't something I know how to do there. So what I've done so far is a LOT of messing with the text file, rebooting the sim and see where the light went. I've found the angles aren't real world angles. Say, 0 is straight forward. adding 0.5 would rotate 45 degrees up. Or something like that.

Did you figure out the groups of numbers, Simmo? So far I've investigated and found that X = Position X and Y Y = Position Z and Heading Z = Pitch and bank B = unknown T = Just as Tom said, how intense the light is S = Just like Tom said, width of the beam S = Halo size I might be completely off course. So if you discovered something else, please let me know.

I have no idea. I hope the new dev tools will make it easy to select a single or a group of polygons and make them hard surface. As of now, the alternative is to make the object in two separate obj files. One with everything else, and one with only the hard surface. With the same pivot and all, it should be a simple task to place it in Overlay Editor.

Well, that might actually be the problem. I made a few objects on Honolulu Intl. hard, but that messed up the sim. Crash to desktop each time I tried to land on one of them.

Below the text window, click "Choose File", choose your jpeg file, and click "Attach this file". Make sure it's not too big to upload. Thanks. It's Air Nav Pro. It works for its purpose, but setting up a route is way too slow for my liking. It feels that it would be faster to just fly the damn route without setting it up beforehand. The performance is kind of lagging too. You move ever so fluid in XP, but it updates, say, twice per second where you are on the map. So I use it only for VFR flights. A bit too expensive too..

Thanks. I found only two lights with XYZBTSS parameters. The 'Merc' didn't throw a cone on the ground with the same settings as with 'sodium flood'. I'll have to investigate that later. I placed a few 'sodium_flood' inside and outside a hangar. Looks really cool when the plane is taxiing. Lights on.. Lights off.. I also added the light to a light post I made for the ENOL scenery. The forum is compressing the image too much!

I'm having a hard time understanding the numbers there. There's more groups with numbers than you've mentioned. Or.. ? How do I determine what number to use for the XYZ settings? Doesn't seem too logical to me at the moment. Would love to put these kind of features into the Muchamiel Scenery and ship it asap when the last models are done. EDIT: I've figured it out. The six first groups are in fact only three. X, Y and Z. I'm slowly figuring out what attribute does what. Is there any list of other light types? I see you mention "sodium_flood". What others are there, or is there a list of these I can find in the x-Plane installation?

OK, I found the reason for that. It's no longer "zoom out", but "move backwards".

What plane is that, and where did you get it, MdMax?

Jose, I could need some photos, really. Either from air or from the ground. Anything would be helpful. And you're right, it's not available yet. Making scenery isn't my daily job, so it has to be done I between all kinds of stuff. Work, family, friends, and when I have the energy and time to do it. I hope 2012 will be the year I complete and release the airport. What I'm missing today is more info about the area around the hangar for the fire department. And around the entrance side of the Inaer hangars. The center line marking would also be interesting to see what it is in real life.

Yes the new view controls are interesting, but I dont like the fact that you have two sets of rotation. I can understand what they were thinking, it makes sense. They are thinking of pivot point. This make it hard to control the view from one control. They should fix it. In external view you would rotate around the plane, in interior view you should rotate like if it was your head. This worked much better in xp9! There's a few other things I miss from xp9, like the way the camera panned around in free mode. That is impossible with the way xp10 is as of today. I hope the fix that. Would make it much easier to make good, realistic videos like I want to do. See my mu2 video on YouTube for instance. Without free camera mode and the way the camera pans when I click and drag makes all the magic.
-
So, you're tuning in to the correct frequency and all?
-
Spend time with the family, Tom. Happy new year, whenever you start celebrating. The MU2 update will come in handy as I'm getting a yoke and two throttle quadrants on Monday. Really looking forward to do some proper lever handling.

ENAL-ENML in Carenado Bonanza
-
What hardware do you have?
-
I've been working on and off the past two years with the scenery for LEMU Muchamiel. Now that XP10 is here, the roads around the area is finally a lot better, and I can start fine tuning placement of buildings and the airport itself. Got home today, bought the Carenado Bonanza, installed Muchamiel scenery to see how it would fit. Not bad. not bad at all. I made a flight, following the route I had with my friend Alexander when I visited him in 2009. And to kill some time, I made a video too. Hope you enjoy! Hopefully, Carenado or Laminar, or whoever can fix it, should take a look at the flickering shadows. Too bad traffic is paused during replays. Otherwise you'd enjoy the traffic as much as I did on that way fast approach.

Disc image created, and flying in Spain.

Finally got home a few days early. Got two days to fly as much as I can.. Installed CRJ200 v1.3 to test performance. Stunning 20fps with a lot of high settings.
-
If they did make this, I'd be the first to buy.

Haha, abrenna. Really? Where did you fly then? From Trondheim to Oslo there's three or four trains a day - and the same in reverse. Local trains are more often.
