Even a GTX 680 4GB or GTX 770 4GB will do wonders. Cheaper too. But you won't get a magically awesome performance without a good CPU. I'm really longing for an i7..
-
Your response proves my point. It's a lot about the CPU. My i5 doesn't cope with everything you got going.

Best of luck!

Good to see it's getting closer! Wish the video was more informative.

A disaster if you're on a mobile device! -

Quality over quantity. A great user experience does not include scrolling page after page until you find what you're after. Headlines are enough. Imagine scrolling through every topic and replies in order to check out a particular topic you're interested in. That's why there's short headlines and excerpt, to tingle your interest. If you're interested in a given topic, you click the title to read more. -
WHAT?! Insert all discs? No. That's not true. Install only what landmass you want, insert discs as you're told to, then insert disc 1 to fly.

Just too bad their website really sucks. I've told them before that little things such as a "read more" button would help clean up a lot of clutter. If I'm not interested in reading about something, I shouldn't have to scroll through the entire article. OH! There's another big wall of text I don't wanna read.. If they only could spend ten seconds extra on each blog post to add that "read more" button, it would become a lot easier on the eye. And mind. And the scroll wheel. -

Cool cube!

Commercial car model, came without any materials, all set up in LightWave. Post processed in After Effects. Quality heavily degraded by the downscaling in the forum software.
-
But not realistic, if that's what you're after though.
-
That's a good start. You got the shapes. Next step is rendering.
-
You can plop down runways, taxiways, objects and whatever you want anywhere.
-
I've watched it, but it doesn't look to work with airports where the planes have to turn at the end. Multiple airports in Norway have the kind of setup where the entrance and exit might be in the middle of the runway, thus the planes need to taxi to one end, turn around, and take off. After landing, turn around at one end and taxi back to the terminal. In my experience what happens in X-Plane is the planes taxi way outside of the runway, falling into the water, tumbling down a hill, or just completely stop.

You're right. The last images look very good with the road and everything. Gonna model those buildings?

I think you are better off using a more advanced modeling tool since you have CAD drawings. I don't know Blender, but many have used it to make planes for X-Plane. I use LightWave because that's what I've been using for a decade. Others use Modo. All of these should be able to import CAD drawings (plugins may be needed) and images for the modeling stage, and have a good arsenal of tools to let you do exactly what you want.

Didn't see that one coming, though I don't mind it being focused on X-Plane only. As you said, there's a kind of a ".org vs. the outrageous others" kind of situation, and I left the other community because I couldn't stand how the leaders kept using their rights the wrong way. I ended up being banned for nonsense which could have been sorted by numerous actions, such as either delete or edit my response, or consult me via PM. The new community you founded has been nothing but good for the X-Plane users in Norway.

I'm not sure I can help you out with that. I'm not so insanely skilled in such details. I think you should contact the shop or possibly the manufacturers of the different parts, unless someone on this forum can answer.

I tested in 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 (native for my monitor). The test was performed at Wilmington at daytime, using "scattered clouds" preset from the loading screen, using the latest CRJ 200 in X-Plane 64-bit. I loaded Wilmington RWY 06 3 miles out and performed a landing and taxi to gate. I set Fraps to benchmark for 2 minutes. Here's my benchmark results, and my render settings. 1920x1080 WITH MODIFIED INSPECTOR SETTINGS FROM iomagicoFrames: 3413 - Time: 120000ms - Avg: 28.442 - Min: 21 - Max: 301920x1080 DEFAULT INSPECTOR SETTINGSFrames: 3611 - Time: 120000ms - Avg: 30.092 - Min: 22 - Max: 322560x1440 WITH MODIFIED INSPECTOR SETTINGS FROM iomagicoFrames: 2478 - Time: 120000ms - Avg: 20.650 - Min: 15 - Max: 222560x1440 DEFAULT INSPECTOR SETTINGSFrames: 2728 - Time: 120000ms - Avg: 22.733 - Min: 18 - Max: 24I didn't notice much in-sim, but looking at the numbers I won't mess with the Inspector settings on my rig. This might behave different on your rigs of course.

I use HDR and the second step of AA. Don't remember what it is right now, I'm on the phone. But it works well in 1920x1080. I mainly fly windowed really, in order to multitask, but keep control via the iPad with AirTrack. Could you share a screenshot of your render settings?
-
No AA? I get a 10-12 fps boost by switching it off, but it's messing with me, I gotta have some AA.. What resolution are you running at? I notice another 10fps boost if I switch to 1920x1080 vs 2560x1440 which is the native resolution. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2

What are your X-Plane settings and what are your GeForce Inspector settings set to? Would like to test it myself.
