  1. Of course this is functional.... In this bird there is no ice caption... but there is a light that point into the leading edges of the wings to see if you have ice. This can be automatic or manual. Yesterday I had an accident because the ice... Put the heaters but was too late. But this is not the only failures it can have. Lots more.. Forget about not looking the engine pointers. Anyway..... I ENDED IT!!! I send it to Cameron and then I will make the video but I believe the plane release will be before the video. It only has one livery for now.... but I pretend to make more in future updates. I want to keep this bird alive... It has been already a year with this one. Don't remember the exact date but if you look the first post I think it was also in December. Anyway.. it has been too stress.. too much work. Hopes the release goes smooth.

  5. I have started an effort to upgrade the P180 Avanti, that comes with X-Plane, to the newer Avanti II version. The difference is that Avanti II incorporates a new full glass cockpit, using the Proline 21 system of Honeywell. This upgrade is under permission of the author of Avanti for X-Plane, Robert Pearson. I want to thank him for his permission. First of all, by meaning upgrading, I mean that things that will change will be only those are different from the basic version. The most of plane will remain the same, except of course the... cockpit. So the goals are: 1. 2D cockpit with the most possible representation of Proline 21 avionics, as possible through X-Plane's capabilities. No plug-in will be used (hmm, I have no idea about them, I've played a bit with SALS and it's not looking tooo hard...). 2. A very detailed 3D cockpit, down to the last screw! If things go smooth and the results are ok, then I will (may be) go for a full implementation of Proline 21 by using plugins. Of course I cannot promise about the ETA of this project. One man alone on the spare time, you understand...I hope! Now some samples...

  6. Some interior cockpit shots of the Saab 340! We'll write up a systems update again soon to help you learn what everything in this cockpit is about, but for now enjoy some more screenshots to ease the pain of waiting! As always, these are work in progress previews.

  7. No cold war from me John! We're just trading poster shots aren't we? Having said that I am indeed a cold war era guy ... I hope to see it soon on another sim I love.

  8. Ha, great to see you enjoying yourself! Don't fly too long though, you won't go back to scenery work.

  9. First of all, I would like to say thank you to all those guys that have enter the beta testing of my project. Since there are many beta testers all ready, the beta testing participation stops here. I'm doing that cause now I'm waiting for the feedback from the testers, gather the issues and then solve them, so the aircraft to be available for downloading till the end of the year. KNOWING ISSUES (so far): 1. Transparencies on the edge of external surfaces (like rudder): - I haven't touch this area cause I'm using the original Avanti's external object. I will check it and try to repair the textures. 2. Weak brakes: Done. 3. Non functional switches, bleed air and pressurization systems: I'm working on that right know. Pressurization, now is working OK in auto mode, manual mode is remaining. 4. Yoke is not hidden and cover a few switches: Done 5. Some switches have too "flat" textures: This might remain as is at this point, cause I have to rearrange objects and textures, almost for scratch for more efficient use. Sure it will done in Avanti II v 2.0! This list will be renewed as I get more feedback from beta testers, and solving issues! To beta testers: Once I have solve the issues you will have a round 2 of tests for finalizing the aircraft. Thank you so much for your cooperation!

  14. Multiple people/groups are working on this helo type, actually, which is why I am commenting on it here. Fred is a very talented developer, and while I think competition is great, a party of three or more in such a barren field full of an array of choices seems silly. That said, without a doubt, I'd put my money down on Fred's being among the best in whatever he makes! My point to Valentin in post 16 where I said it's already being made is to let him know that regardless of whether Fred chooses to end up doing it or not, it will get done! He seems to be worried Fred may not take this on in the instance interest is not good enough. Either way, it will get done, so never fear!
