Vantskruv Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) For those who want better clouds, I greatly recommend this shader addon. There are some really awesome clouds, you really feel you are up in the sky.Note that this addon is not compatible with Skymaxx, and it is payware. I've been using Skymaxx earlier and I was disappointed. I wanted to give UWXP a chance and I do not regret it. Running a NVIDIA 780TI, installing the 256 res clouds gives good performance. Installing the 2k clouds is too much for my system. Screen shot from me flying the Saab 340A (note the FPS here is from me running the 2K textures, now I'm running the 256 textures): Edited January 11, 2016 by Vantskruv
Yidahoo Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 I am sorry, I am yet to see anything convincing about Ultra Weather. Clouds look like cartoon cut outs to me. 1
Vantskruv Posted January 11, 2016 Author Report Posted January 11, 2016 When in overcast with Skymaxx, it felt more cartoonish then with UWXP. But that is taste, I'm not a pilot myself. Even though it may look cartoonish, as many other things in computer games and sims, the cloud immersion is much much better than in Skymaxx. Currently Skymaxx is broken, hopefully things will be better with the Weather Connector they will release sooner or later, but right now I'm little skeptical.
Cameron Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 Those clouds look awful. I don't mind giving people credit where it's due, but I can't even start to see what people find any bit realistic in what I've seen thus far with this product. Even in that last screenshot (even more evident in the videos)!
JohnMAXX Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 To be clearly clear Skymaxx is far from broken........
Morrigan Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 To be honest, I will stick to SkyMaxx, as to me the clouds look much more realistic 3
Vantskruv Posted January 11, 2016 Author Report Posted January 11, 2016 Can't I just run the two together, so I don't get crazy?
Cameron Posted January 11, 2016 Report Posted January 11, 2016 Can't I just run the two together, so I don't get crazy? Haha, nope! SkyMaxx Pro disables the default cloud engine since it's a performance waste to run together at that point.
