Jack Turano Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Hello, As I understand, X-plane comes with some airports having default scenery from aerosoft. Are these airports included in the demo, or do they only come on the disks of X-plane full version? Also, I heard about the scenery gateway, saying that there are "lego brick" airports. What exactly are "lego brick airports" and how are they different from the airports on X-plane.org?Could someone give me some screenshots of the default aerosoft airports and the "lego brick airports" from the gateway? Thank you in advance... Quote
Cameron Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 Do you not already own X-Plane? I thought you did? Quote

Cameron Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 What's the point in wondering what's in the demo if you own the full product? Quote
Jack Turano Posted January 4, 2016 Author Report Posted January 4, 2016 What's the point in wondering what's in the demo if you own the full product? The original question was what is the gateway scenery compared to the default scenery from aerosoft, and where can I find the list of all default airports? Can you just please help me rather than making fun? Cameron Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 I'm not making fun of you at all. It was a genuine question. Quote
Jack Turano Posted January 4, 2016 Author Report Posted January 4, 2016 I'm not making fun of you at all. It was a genuine question. So what exactly is the gateway "lego brick" scenery and how is it different from the default scenery in X-plane and from the add-on scenery from X-plane.org.Also, in which folder is all of the default scenery located? Quote
Cameron Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 It's not different than X-Plane default scenery. It IS default scenery. The gateway is a place for people to submit packages to be shipped in the default package. Lego brick is a simple definition to say scenery is easily created similar to how easy Legos are easily attached. X-Plane.org scenery is custom scenery using who knows what. Default scenery is located in the Custom Scenery folder. Quote

I thought that lego brick ment that the buildings were all square and really bad. Also, is there a way to see screenshots of the airports on the gateway so I know what I am downloading from the gateway? Jack Turano Posted January 5, 2016 Author Report Posted January 5, 2016 No, there are no previews online. What airports are created by Aerosoft? As I understand, they're in the same folder as the gateway ones, so is there a list which airports are of very good quality made by aerosoft? Quote
Jack Turano Posted January 5, 2016 Author Report Posted January 5, 2016 Google is your friend.I finally just understood what had been the case for my airports missing.I installed Alpilotx's mesh for almost the whole world about a year ago, and deleted all of X-plane's default scenery because I don't have enough space on my disk to fit both of them in (I do video editing so I have to keep a lot of native files on my not-so-big 450 GB hard drive).I read on some forums that X-plane doesn't install Aerosoft's airport scenery or the gateway scenery to the areas that you have no mesh isntalled.I know that I can download the gateway sceneries manualy myself. However, where can I download the aerosoft default sceneries that don't install themselves? Can you please give me a link? Thanks Quote
Jack Turano Posted January 5, 2016 Author Report Posted January 5, 2016 There is no linkSo how can I install the aerosoft airports in X-plane? Quote
Jack Turano Posted January 5, 2016 Author Report Posted January 5, 2016 http://www.aerosoft.comOK, but I can't seem to find the free airports that usually are isntalled by the X-plane updater...Are they on the website? Quote

Jack Turano Posted January 6, 2016 Author Report Posted January 6, 2016 Pretty sure Aerosoft isn't lying to you.But the guy said that he's not sure. And besides, he was talking only about the aerosoft scenery. How about all the gateway scenery that is also usually downloaded with X-plane installer? Quote
Cameron Posted January 6, 2016 Report Posted January 6, 2016 Holy cow man. Just install the demo and stop asking so many crazy questions. Your last one was already answered by me. How old are you? Quote
