What do you like the most for England, London? What source is the best for that?

Hello, I am creating Orthoimagery with ORTHO4XP, and I wonder what is the best source of Orthoimagery? There are over 10 choices like Google, USA_2, FRnorth, FRsat, and many more. I have no idea what these abbreviations mean... And which one of them is the best to use in what parts of the world? Thank you, Jack

The blur is caused by the Antroscopic filtering in the Nvidia control panel - for some reason it seems to keep messing up even though I set it at global settings. The best way to battle that is to try a few things - try to permanently turn antroscopic filtering ON in the control panel; then try "Application Controlled", rather than just "Global settings".

So acutally I have a really weak machine for X-plane use - it's a Lenovo W530: Intel i7 @2.4 GHz; Nvidia quadro K1000m GPU, and 16 GB RAM; Here is a screenshot of my rendering settings: ; So although I do not use HDR rendering, I like the objects and trees to be at the absolute MAX (I think that having real-world amount of objects and trees is a lot more realistic than not having those and having a few extra shadows with HDR rendering on). Are you using windows? Just click START and search NVIDIA, and it has to come up...

Yeah, everyone, be sure to subscribe to that guy, he's the most helpful X-plane person on Youtube! Oh, and the blurry fonts are caused by anti-aliasing. Check one more time that you have it "application controlled"... My sim FPS increased by almost 50% after I used Wycliffe's settings!!

Hello, I wanted to say that I've asked for X-plane performance help on this forum, and all I got was constant advice to get a new expensive PC. Well, I found this guy named Wycliffe Barrett on Youtube who does an absolutely wonderful job at explaining all the insides and outs of X-plane, and he made this great video on perfect Nvidia control panel settings (video below). AND GUESS WHAT - I GOT A 200% INCREASE IN FPS WHEN I ADJUSTED THE NVIDIA SETTINGS, EVEN ON MY "WEAK" MACHINE! Thank you Wycliffe Barrett, because you actually help even those people who have weaker machines...

Hello, Could someone please tell me what is the best way to configurate the settings in the Nvidia control panel for maximum performance X-plane use. I have recently read somewhere that the Nvidia settings play a very crucial role in performance, and I have no idea of how to set them. Maybe just post a screenshot if that is more convenient... Does photoscenery slow down the sim even more than the alpilotx mesh v3? I have the really bad nvidia k1000m gpu. Also, how does the sim look like if you have static shadows but hdr rendering enabled? How is it different than normal static shadows?

But the guy said that he's not sure. And besides, he was talking only about the aerosoft scenery. How about all the gateway scenery that is also usually downloaded with X-plane installer?

I emailed aerosoft. They told me that I can download another copy of the X-plane demo, and it will install all of the aerosoft airports? Do you guys think this is true?

OK, but I can't seem to find the free airports that usually are isntalled by the X-plane updater... Are they on the website?

I finally just understood what had been the case for my airports missing. I installed Alpilotx's mesh for almost the whole world about a year ago, and deleted all of X-plane's default scenery because I don't have enough space on my disk to fit both of them in (I do video editing so I have to keep a lot of native files on my not-so-big 450 GB hard drive). I read on some forums that X-plane doesn't install Aerosoft's airport scenery or the gateway scenery to the areas that you have no mesh isntalled. I know that I can download the gateway sceneries manualy myself. However, where can I download the aerosoft default sceneries that don't install themselves? Can you please give me a link? Thanks

OK, Thank you. I can't test this for a few more days because I'm away right now from my computer. I will install a blank demo, and I'm sure it will do a lot better (because I did the same thing last year, installed blank demo, and it worked very good). The only problem is, how do I put back my custom scenery and addons? I don't want to fly with the default X-plane engine. But putting them in one by one would take up SO much time. What's your advice on what to do after I've installed a blank demo and seen an improvement in the FPS?

What airports are created by Aerosoft? As I understand, they're in the same folder as the gateway ones, so is there a list which airports are of very good quality made by aerosoft?

I have been using X-plane for 2 years now, and I have read many forums and I know a lot about the rendering settings. I am not a full bottleneck in computers like you're saying and I understand performance specs of computers and simulator performance. Now my question explained more explicitly: I bought a new computer at the same time that I bought X-plane, and it was working fine in the beggining. Now I've got many programs on it and there is a bunch of backround tasks because of that. As I understand, this slows down the simulator. So I ask if it will help if I will have no other programs and have a sim-only computer and how much will it help (how much %FPS increase will I see)? I'm not stupid, and PLEASE no more sarcasm. please...

So the quality of the gateway scenery is not worse than the scenery in X-plane.org? I thought that lego brick ment that the buildings were all square and really bad. Also, is there a way to see screenshots of the airports on the gateway so I know what I am downloading from the gateway?

So what exactly is the gateway "lego brick" scenery and how is it different from the default scenery in X-plane and from the add-on scenery from X-plane.org. Also, in which folder is all of the default scenery located?

The original question was what is the gateway scenery compared to the default scenery from aerosoft, and where can I find the list of all default airports? Can you just please help me rather than making fun?
