Colin S Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 Good morning to the Lower Mainland! Took off from Abbotsford for a quick hop to my future home of Victoria! Can't wait to move to the island, I'm enjoying flying around it for now. Four months to go. 4 Quote

Colin S Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Bit of a bumpy climb out of YYC, heading for the coast and rainy and possibly clouded in landing in YYJ. More pictures later 3 Quote
Colin S Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Crashed outside of Banff while procrastiflying, took the opportunity to play with RTH and sky colours to get some cool shots. 5 Quote
Colin S Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Approach for Portland - I've perfected the cloud shadows settings in RTH. 5 Quote
Colin S Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 CYXX-PHLI, all fueled up and doing the heavy and slow climb up to cruise. BC is beautiful in X-Plane, I think it is actually the most accurately represented of any region on earth other than Vancouver being a giant trailer park. 3 Quote

Colin S Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 CYXX-PHLI resulting in fatal crash at PHLI. The flight management computer was being glitchy from the beginning, but on descent it became apparent that I would have to mickey-mouse it if I was actually going to use the ILS. It flew me a constant 5km east of the route displayed in the cockpit, including on final approach, and almost ploughed me into the mountain beside PHLI. I then circled once and attempted to land, and was a bit too stressed to remember that I was still well about 200 knots and flaps at 10. I hit the runway pretty hard and bounced. Moral of the story is turn around and land if your computer seems to be going bonkers over a simple flight plan. I love and hate this plane, it's such a beautiful and simple one to fly but when it has a problem it has a serious problem. I'm going to go for another flight now, PHLI to PHKO to see if it happens again. 1 Quote

niebieski Posted April 17, 2015 Report Posted April 17, 2015 DHL 757-200SF from Bristol, UK (EGGD) to Southampton, UK (EGHI) Short hop to enjoy great Pilot Plus sceneries for above airports, as well as great freeware UK Pro scenery by Tony.Haven't flown the FF 757 in a while and i have to admit it is surprisingly good after all those patches. The 1990s DHL livery does look cool on the 757 and kind of nostalgic, doesn't it? 10 Quote

howardthepilot1999 Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 Eventful flight today, inadvertent IMC and declared PAN PAN. Never shall I go flying in such conditions again. Lesson learned. 3 Quote
Colin S Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 I'm binge-exporting BC Airfields/Heliports to the gateway. So far I have rebuilt CYNJ, CYXS, CZML, CAB5, CYHE, and CAU4. On the platter now is CYPZ, burns lake, which needed serious help. Every once in a while I take some time to gloriously fly around at sunset. 3 Quote
Oliver Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 Hadn't flown a multi in a few months... Definitely a good feeling to be back in a more powerful aircraft. 5 Quote
