glasscockpits Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 A lot of products are developed in a very long length of time, probably because its the quality that matters, not the quantity. I certainly agree with your statement. The problem is, the original poster was to keep us informed about development of this project. Taxi2gate converting their scenery to X-Plane is splendid news, are you guys doing the conversions? Quote
scubajuan_new Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 are you guys doing the conversions?Yes. although I do not have release date . In the particular case of MMMX scenery. I received some of the models and all the original textures from one the developers, not everything but a great part. the problem I encounter is that this were in an intermediate format and some how lost the texture mapping. Some parts I will redo from scratch adding additional detail that was missing in the FSX release. This project is not cancelled but is on hold by the time being, not for that reason. I Started a new project on my own, and for now, I want to concentrate in completing this first. Will retake Mexico City after completing my personal project. I also have the intention to bring to X-Plane the latest developments KMCO and LTBA, but I won't start on any of them before completing Mexico City. I do not want to release half done, and a project of this magnitude will take some time, since my intention is to do the city as well and not just the airport and a lot of assets need to be created 1 Quote
scubajuan_new Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 To expand a bit more, I encounter some problems with objects appearing out of place causing misalignments that are not aceptable and I haven't figure out why. Anyway, the holds not indefinitely and will retake the project once my personal project is completed. Quote
HarryCYUL Posted May 13, 2014 Report Posted May 13, 2014 awesome scenery.........thanks 4 making it. waiting 2 buy Quote
scubajuan_new Posted December 30, 2014 Author Report Posted December 30, 2014 I have recently retaken the project. I am now capable of making the edits necessary to complete the project. I am carefully reviewing the previous work and in the process of exporting all the improved objects. Is looking much better than the original. larger resolution textures and extra detail. My intention is to release early next year. No promises. As soon as all the improved objects are complete and placed I will post previews. Thanks for the interest. Quote
scubajuan_new Posted December 30, 2014 Author Report Posted December 30, 2014 Not related but here is a preview of the Habana (MUHA) scenery is looking great in X-Plane Quote
niebieski Posted December 31, 2014 Report Posted December 31, 2014 Is Havana next in the pipeline? Quote
scubajuan_new Posted January 4, 2015 Author Report Posted January 4, 2015 Is Havana next in the pipeline? I am not sure yet, I am working simultaneously in MUHA Habana and KMCO Orlando, Habana is an older version and needs some improvement to bring it up t today standards. 1 Quote
x-plane 123 Posted January 6, 2015 Report Posted January 6, 2015 Looks great so far. Is there any chance of OTHH at some point? Quote
deltonos Posted January 14, 2015 Report Posted January 14, 2015 (edited) Thanks for good news Juan: I think Habana must be packed with KMCO in a bundle.... and waiting for MMMX!!! Edited January 14, 2015 by deltonos Quote
scubajuan_new Posted January 24, 2015 Author Report Posted January 24, 2015 I am thinking of bundling all the Cuban airports, Habana, Santiago, Cayo Coco, Cayo Largo and Varadero, some of them are really small, but all together, and now with the availability of the HD mesh v3 on the entire Island could make a great destination. 1 Quote
letec Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Hi,Any news about MMMX?? Thanks. Quote
x-plane 123 Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 Any updates Juan, I can't wait for it to be released. Quote
scubajuan_new Posted April 26, 2015 Author Report Posted April 26, 2015 Yes. I just received, after over a year since I requested them. some models and textures that were missing. I now have all te original textures without compression and i'm in the process of exporting the models in x-plane native format. Some of the models I redid entirely and i have restarted work on this scenery, after a long pause. I still don't have a timeframe for release but I can pick up where I left. it There was a really annoying misplacement issue that I couldn't figure out. When placing objects in WED based on the underlying ortho, they were appearing out of place in the sim. The problem was the the "ortho" was actually multiple objects that had the same origin point. and the further away from the origin te worst te misplacement got. I got rid of the object based ortho and am using a real geo referenced satellite image, and now the problem is solved. Now i can trace ground surfaces and marking accurately and I am happy with how it is coming along. Soon I will post some images and as the project nears completion , will announce a release date. Thanks for the interest Quote
x-plane 123 Posted April 26, 2015 Report Posted April 26, 2015 Thanks for the update! It's great to hear that you got the models/textures and have figured out the WED issue. I can't wait to see the screenshots. Quote
jettojig Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 Sounds very exciting! I've got a conversion of the FSX version and it looks very nice in X-Plane, so can't wait for a native copy! Quote
scubajuan_new Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 This is one of the buildings that were redone entirely and the texture resolution increased. In the first image the lights appear on but i solved that after the picture was taken, Never mind the ground, still work in progress 1 Quote
x-plane 123 Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) Very nice. I think I'm going to do a lot more flying in Mexico once this and the others are released. Edited April 27, 2015 by x-plane 123 Quote
azpilot Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Excellent work. How about making KLAS or KLAX? Quote
MercuryMat Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 Scuba if you need some help or advice in conversion you can write pm to me. I did it for lybe by skyhighsim last year and, after a couple of months of selling at the end of 2014, it will be soon again available on markets under my personal brand. I know it is a hard work, but the results could be very very nice if things are done carefully. Hope to see this scenery soon! Inviato dal mio iPad utilizzando Tapatalk Quote
scubajuan_new Posted May 20, 2015 Author Report Posted May 20, 2015 Thanks Mat, Progress is slow and the most difficult for me is to find the time between reverse projects , family and work, also looking for ways to reproduce the entire city realistically since the default assets simply don't fit and OSM data is very poor. Quote
x-plane 123 Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Hi Juan. I hope you're are still getting some time to work on MMMX and are able to figure out how to reproduce the entire city. I was wondering if you have any plans to convert OTHH, KSTL, or KSEA once you finish with the KMCO, LTBA, and the Mexican/Cuban airports? Edited June 19, 2015 by x-plane 123 Quote
