ansorgj Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 hi, the aircraft is great and the documentation explains it's usage well, even the annoying Joystick stuff. Thanks for that. But the Joystick stuff is annoying as hell nevertheless. Maybe it's my brain but I forgot now several times to change plane before quitting X-Plane with the known result of configuration loss. Can't you put in a warning before X-Plane quits to switch aircraft? Or get rid of this configuration messing altogether? Being a non-native speaker, I don't fully understand why this messing with my Joystick config is necessary at all Thank youJens Quote
Cameron Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Just don't re-lock the flight controls before exiting X-Plane...simple enough. The change of aircraft is if you decide to re-lock. This feature is implemented for several reasons, including stick shaker related. Quote
ansorgj Posted February 17, 2013 Author Report Posted February 17, 2013 Just don't re-lock the flight controls before exiting X-Plane...simple enough. Which leaves me with two unassigned axes - not so simple. But thank you for the suggestion, it's something to start with.So again my question (which was buried in a rant and apparently hard to find):Request for enhancement: Can you add a warning popup before quitting x-plane? thank youJens Quote
JimboG Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Hi Jens,Could I suggest using some accompanying checklists with your Jetstream 32 (which includes control lock checks!) - see the topic here:http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/topic/4650-jetstream-32-checklist-clist-available-v08/The checklists are comprehensive and have been signed off by RW J32 pilot Cooley. They seems to have helped quite a lot of people, especially given that its easy to forget how to accomplish certain tasks from memory 100% of the time. At the very least, could I suggest going through the two YouTube videos I put together which shows you them in action and how it works.... The control locks are in the videos too!I hoe this helps. Shibby Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 Get the XAssign plugin, and create a preset for your plane. Then even if you lose your axis controls all you have to do is select "assign axis" on the plane and load your preset. Very easy. 2 Quote

cfrankling Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 (edited) not so simple the Jetstream 32 is my one favorite aircraft and what I don't do is to not re-lock the controls, it's part of my shut-down procedure. I haven't had one problem with this procedure, not one. Try it. Edited March 19, 2013 by Pirata Quote
Japo32 Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 Yes... if you follow the checklists that I supply in the documentation you won't have any problem at all. Consider the joystick "issue" as a part of the plane to be followed correctly. Quote
