hiddenace Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) I flew into some cold weather and deicing data refs are only working for the left wing.. rwing, window, and AOA/1 AOA/2 are not working.. Weird thing is when i look at the model from the outside ice is gone and the windows are clear, but back in the 3D cockpit the windows are still iced over AND YES I READ THE MANUAL Edited December 20, 2012 by hiddenace Quote
ryancz Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Haha, yeah it's an X-Plane 10 bug, not the JS32As seen in another thread.Anti Ice does work, but on one side only. This is a confirmed X-Plane bug as it happens in the default aircraft as well.It has been logged and acknowledged by Laminar and a fix will be issued in a forthcoming X-Plane update.Apologies for this. hiddenace Posted December 20, 2012 Author Report Posted December 20, 2012 i thought it was fixed in Beta 6 or 7? Quote
Cameron Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 i thought it was fixed in Beta 6 or 7? X-Plane may have fixed the availability of it, but this does not mean add-ons will work right away. This must be re-animated/coded with the new datarefs when published. Quote
hiddenace Posted December 20, 2012 Author Report Posted December 20, 2012 i realize that Cameron, I can understand if a product is already released such as the DC3, but this product was not released yet when they made the update. Confused as to why it wasn't just added.. but i'm just a consumer and not a programmer what do i know? Quote
Goran_M Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) Just throwing my 2c in here (seeing as the DC-3 was mentioned). The latest update for icing was literally added in the 2nd last beta update and I don't think the datarefs are even added to the dataref list yet (I got mine through a different channel). There are quite a lot of people who do not use beta versions, and as such, those people would be left with a Jetstream where the icing doesn't work at all. This is the reason Cameron is holding off on releasing the DC-3 update.I have no doubt that Javier, being the reputable and reliable developer he is, will make sure the icing is working correctly when X-Plane is out of beta. Muskoka Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 Sat yesterday for about five minutes trying to figure out what I was doing wrong as the aircraft continued to ice up, now I know. Quote
Japo32 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) The anti-icing windows only affects to the pilot and copilot front windows. Not to the side ones or the cabin ones. I leaved that way independently of what is is the plane. I just saw filament heaters in those 2 windows only (didn't see in the rest) so I just did it in those 2 windows. if applying both sides of the windshield heaters both 2 (of the 7 cockpit windows) don't deice then there is a problem. I think that is good for flying xperience because it makes pilot exit the icing conditions as quick as possible, or use flying helping instruments. also the new datarefs of de-icing engines of the beta are inside the plugin. I think they didn't change anything of the windshield one. 1. if you put both windshield heaters with ice and only 2 windows of the cockpit are deiced, but the rest and also the cabin ones continues then that is correctly working. 2. if only one or none (after some time of deicing) is not deicing.. then that is wrong and there is a bug. Japo32 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) Tested in xplane 10.11 and it is working. Here is an screen of what it should be. Also is working the Pitot heats. Both. Edited December 20, 2012 by Japo32 Quote
Japo32 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) Tested in xplane 10.20 beta8 and it is working good. As it should be. Only de-icing the front 2 windows (as said that is the way I like it. More challenging).Of course only in 32 bits by now! In future also will work in 64bits. Edited December 20, 2012 by Japo32 Quote
skipper63 Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 As any x-planer knows, there have been many beta versions in the past, that were full of bugs or would introduce new bugs that weren't in the previous version. Therefore, as long as an x-plane verion is not final, to me, it does not make any sense to test a new airplane in an x-plane beta version for bugs! All this is doing is wasting Javier's time, who is so patient and even tests these "bugs" in beta versions instead of spending that time with his wife and kid! My2cents I would pin a message, that no "bugs" will be looked into, that are found in a beta x-plane version. 1 Quote
