Leen de Jager Posted August 16, 2012 Report Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) In 1935 American Airlines director C R Smith asks Douglas to build a plane bigger and better than the DC2.The result is the DST Douglas Sleeper Traveller having fourteen beds.After having build seven DST`s , they created based on this airplane a "Dayplane " for twenty-four passengers and this plane.......became the name Douglas Commercial 3rd model.The DC3 was born.Here my impression of the mama-bird ,the DST.
