In 1935 American Airlines director C R Smith asks Douglas to build a plane bigger and better than the DC2.

The result is the DST Douglas Sleeper Traveller having fourteen beds.

After having build seven DST`s , they created based on this airplane a "Dayplane " for twenty-four passengers and this plane.......became the name Douglas Commercial 3rd model.

The DC3 was born.

Here my impression of the mama-bird ,the DST.

Thanks Cameron.

This is still WIP , at a distance it looks nice on a screenshot , we canot go with our nose between the pixels yet.

I think it needs a week or so, to to get it up to my standard.

I am still missing vital details , due to lack of photo-material.

I welcome ALL DST-pictures available!!!!

Cheers

Hi folks,

Still working on the mama-plane.

Its complicated but there is some progress.

Tail section and texturising wing/fuse joint still to do.

These old things are tricky.

Just to keep you posted.

Have a peep.

Cheers
