Speaking of birds, we still laugh about a BBQ we had up at Merimbula once. A couple of large magpies got very friendly and started eating the margarine straight out of the tub. Funny eh. Even funnier was the sight of our dad running up the hill, chasing a magpie hauling a rather large Tbone steak in its beak, barely gaining any lift as it struggled to make its getaway! We never got it back :-)

I had a butcher bird land about 30cm away once when I was eating my lunch; a delicious pie.

I ignored it, it's just a bird after-all... what harm can it do?

Then without warning it took a flying gulp of my damn pie and flew off! :o

...right out of my hands, between bites.

Cheeky little shit.

I don't trust them anymore and wont tolerate them sitting around when I'm eating. ;)

I was in the passenger seat when my mum nearly ran over a wedgetailed eagle (or wedgetail eagle?). She mistook it for the dead wallaby she'd driven past earlier that morning. Having seen this article I'm glad she stopped!

Ive been here almost 2 years and I still can't understand what half of you are saying.....

"Oi! He pulled a dummy spit I reckon; so how you been travelling?"

- CK.

Translation: I believe he was being purposefully whiny; so how are you doing?
