D38 Posted October 28, 2018 Report Posted October 28, 2018 G'day, appreciate your airframe, its indeed lovely to fly. Is it possible to have an option to start with engines running ? Kindest regards Yours Aye, john.m Quote

It is totally study level from the moment you step in the cockpit till the moment you shut it down. If you aren’t prepared to do that then you might as well download and fly nearly any other aircraft on X plane. That is precisely what makes it different and why it is worth the big money. No shortcuts in the real world...unless your a passenger, or the instructor starts it for you! 2 Quote
quijote Posted October 28, 2018 Report Posted October 28, 2018 (edited) When we are debugging something, it is a royal pain in the a to have to go through the whole start routine. It takes 5 minutes to load the plane and scenery and another 5 minutes to start the engine is a nuisance. If you want to play study level, you should have that option, but there are at times valid reason to speed up the process....... Starting with the engine running is NOT moral turpitude! So the airplane does allow for it for quick testing. 1 Quote
cpuwolf Posted October 28, 2018 Report Posted October 28, 2018 mark: 1. leave with engine running 2. "start with engines running" checked Quote
D38 Posted October 29, 2018 Author Report Posted October 29, 2018 Thank you all for your comments. I appreciate this is a study level aircraft but sometimes I just want to get in and fly. It's as simple as that. The starting checklist has taught me a lot and enhanced my skills and appreciation. Quote
mikehatch Posted October 30, 2018 Report Posted October 30, 2018 I would like to know how to set things cold and dark. Yes, I get that the idea is to get the plane in the state you last left it, but say the sim crashes, or somehow the sim is closed with things running, I would at least like to sort of "reset" on the ground without having everything running full blast.
