Gizmo Activation/Features issues

Hello, I just purchased the Saab 340 and can't activate it.

X-Plane 11.20b4 & Win10 (latest)

Attached is the GizmoLog a screenshot of what it looks like in the sim.

Looking in the forums I couldn't find any similar issues.

Also can't click anything on the Gizmo menus (due to activation I guess?)

Here's what I tried so far:

• Installed FlyWithLua (Normally I don't have it either)
• Updated Gizmo from here (found it on their FB page) https://www.dropbox.com/s/aa01uo781dihgf0/Gizmo64.plugin-18.02.27.0200.zip?dl=1
• Contacted LES on FB and they sent me here.

Okidoo let me know if I should try something else.

My guess is you have a strange GPU... probably Intel.

 

Can you please upload/attach a copy of Log.txt so I can verify which type of graphics card/chip you have.

nVidia TITAN X... nothing wrong with that.

Very odd. Haven't seen any reports like this, even from VR users.

I mention VR because your log shows you're using 11.20 b4.

 

As a temporary work around you could try loading a default aircraft and then manually opening the X-A activation window by going to;

Menu bar > Plugins > Gizmo > Windows > X-Aviation Licensing.

If the glitch you're seeing is caused by the Saab systems you should see the activation window appear correctly.

You should then be able to input your account details and download a copy of your product license database.

After that you can try re-loading the Saab and see if it will at least let you fly.

 

As I said, I've never seen anything like this. Their is a similar issue with the IXEG product and Intel GPU's but they use entirely custom GUI widgets and not the standard SDK stuff.

 

If the above fails you could try using the non-beta version of X-Plane to test against. It may be a Laminar bug...

Issue is with X-Plane 11.20b4. Reverting to 11.11 fixed the activation issue.

However I discovered something worth mentionning:

I'm on a multi monitor setup where I only use my left monitor for X-Plane and can't get the hover menu to appear on the right. Changing display to put X-Plane on the right most display allows the menu to appear. This could be fixed for me by moving it to the left edge?

Also the menu is very small on 4k monitors. It's expected to not scale correctly? Most plugins have this issue as well.

At least it's usable now. Am I the only one who identified this hover menu issues?

Multi monitor is a known issue. Multi screen support is new with XP11 and something we're yet to deal with.

Hi-DPI scaling is also a newly supported thing.

 

Life complications behind the scenes have been slowing me down.

Hopefully I can start to address some of these things this year now that life is looking more stable.

Look at what I wrote above. You need to revert to the non beta version of X-Plane. We'll probably have to wait until Gizmo is updated before doing further X-Plane updates if you want to be flying the Saab.
