Tom Knudsen Posted August 24, 2013 Report Posted August 24, 2013 (edited) Looks interesting Tom, how dose it work?Older left over render of a landing gear system.Dont know just yet, but i have a plan Edited August 24, 2013 by Tom Knudsen Quote
Jordan P. Posted August 24, 2013 Report Posted August 24, 2013 (edited) But not realistic, if that's what you're after though.here is my dilema i use blender 2.49 and the rendering is not as good as the other peoples so i wonder how to do some things, such as the wine drink itself doesn't look like wine and the other glasses at the sides i was to lazy to make another mateial just to make it look more like glass. EDIT - And the shelf, since i was just practicing i didn't want to do to much detail just for display, same with the textures that all the wine glass is sitting on i didn't even texture that i just left it as is. OlaHaldor Posted August 25, 2013 Report Posted August 25, 2013 (edited) Commercial car model, came without any materials, all set up in LightWave. Post processed in After Effects. Quality heavily degraded by the downscaling in the forum software. Edited August 25, 2013 by OlaHaldor 2 Quote
Jordan P. Posted August 25, 2013 Report Posted August 25, 2013 (edited) i am not very good at rendering but i will learn with time, i am more into the textures and modeling, that is what counts, so i decided to model Plankton from Spongbob. Edited August 25, 2013 by Remlap 1 Quote
Tom Knudsen Posted August 25, 2013 Report Posted August 25, 2013 Something to avoid getting x plane burnout. A small side, side project. BMW R1150 GS Thats, just insane detail Goran, just got to love it Quote
Hueyman Posted August 25, 2013 Report Posted August 25, 2013 Really top grade modeling ! Love all the details on braking discs, tire etc ... I just cannot imagine the whole bike Quote
Flying_pig Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 i am not very good at rendering but i will learn with time, i am more into the textures and modeling, that is what counts, so i decided to model Plankton from Spongbob. Here are some tips to help improve rendersA. Ambient OcclusionB. Increase the amount of passes for shadows (found in the lights settings)or just use cycles 1 Quote
Flying_pig Posted August 27, 2013 Report Posted August 27, 2013 (edited) Here's a picture of a cabin i modeled a while backhere's another photo showing it with no textures Edited August 27, 2013 by mj12345 4 Quote
WombatBoy Posted October 5, 2013 Report Posted October 5, 2013 (edited) Some instruments I've been working on recently... Edited October 5, 2013 by WombatBoy 4 Quote
Kieran Posted October 6, 2013 Author Report Posted October 6, 2013 Very nice there WombatBoy. Not for X-Plane, but something I made in Blender. 1 Quote
OlaHaldor Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Not sure why this became only 480p, as it's rendered in 720p.. Something I did friday morning in a moment of boredom. Will be bringing this to a PR guy at a local cycle race and see if they want to do some more and better quality work for their website and possibly a live stream online. 1 Quote
Hueyman Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Hey guys your work are really sweet ;-) But I do not understand why everyone who is posting something said " I did that because I was bored ... " like if modelling was an easy and relaxing activity, it is work after all, lot of work when done properly ... So if you are able to do such things while being bored, what could you achieve if motivated and in a good mood ;-) 1 Quote
OlaHaldor Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 I'm unemployed. I'm looking for someone to offer me a job so I can pay the bills. Doing new stuff when I'm bored (and sometimes, not always, that can result in creativity) helps me build a portfolio. Quote
Tom Knudsen Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Just something small I've been working on, kinda new airline bar purhaps lol click the picture for larger viewing Quote
WombatBoy Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) At least for me, it is relaxing to a certain extent. I mostly do X-Plane work/modelling now just for fun as a bit of a respite from college work and everything. If I'm done with all my schoolwork I'll either be playing Civ5 or just working on little bits and pieces of things. Edited October 6, 2013 by WombatBoy Quote
Tom Knudsen Posted October 6, 2013 Report Posted October 6, 2013 Exactly what i did Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free Quote
Hueyman Posted October 7, 2013 Report Posted October 7, 2013 Ok guys thanks for the explanation ;-) And good luck Ola to get employed hopefully soon ! Quote
WombatBoy Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 Wombat....I know your last post was over a year old....but I have an 'old' BD-5J in progress, or did anyhow......EXCEPT the gear, because I didn't have any good references. Don't suppose you want to put these guys together to add to the x-pilot file library eh? We're kicking around some ways to implement an "open source / community projects" type of scenario with mentoring and training and these little aircraft would be good candidates for experimentation. TK Bd-5.jpg I sent you a PM a little over a week ago about this but I might as well post here too. I'd definitely be down to combine our works on the BD. I've been doing lots of work in the cockpit of mine with general details as well as instruments so that could be a possibility as well. Here's two quick pictures from ac3d. Quote
Simmo W Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 World Machine, what's that?! Looks great Ola Quote
OlaHaldor Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 It's a tool to design, generate and work with DEM data, and export different maps (height maps, color maps, ambient occlusion+++) for use in game engines and 3D animation. Quote
Simmo W Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 Thanks, fascinating stuff, I think I'll fiddle with the demo for a few days. Will be most interested in its texturing abilities. Quote
OlaHaldor Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) The Basic version is restricted to 512x512 texture maps, which isn't a whole lot. To get details like the on I posted, you'll need bigger texture maps. I used 4096x4096 which took about an hour with all the devices I had going. I'm building the terrain in 8192x8192 now. Takes a lot of time. I'm very interested in finding a way to utilize splat maps from World Machine in LightWave. That would definitely up the quality of any terrain.- Edited October 12, 2013 by OlaHaldor Quote
