Great work, sir!

May be worth sending a note to Laminar about this first. Any changes you see in aircraft from one version to the next should be reported there first. As we have close relationships with them, they do have a copy of the CRJ for testing.

X-Plane 9 or 10, and what version of them? What is your video card?
-
Great question. There are some joysticks which incorporate rudder/steering into one joystick (you twist the joystick), but other than this, I don't know what else to offer. Hopefully someone else has better solutions!

All any newsletter said about anything was that the MU-2 was on sale for the holidays, that there was an expected update, and that once such update was released the price would be increased. To this date, no update has been released, and no price has been altered. Where exactly is the promise and apology for a mass newsletter due? While both Tom and I sympathize with the situation, I find it prudent to point out that there have been no promises made nor broken here. There has purely been a very large, eye opening update to which we all are and were excited about. Unfortunately X-Plane 10 threw a big monkey wrench into the operation when after two years of work, everything was literally appearing near broke in a big way. Imagine all the bad feelings we had after years of labor only to find out things weren't going to work! We were quite literally within a couple of days of packaging things up and sending out prior to finding this out. It stinks, but this is life and we must face the challenge and alter it to make things right. It's not an overnight operation, and those are two years where a person who makes a living at this will not see a return until the whole product is yet again re-coded. That's a long time to be going without money, and I would much prefer to see Tom remain in the business and eventually see an update than to pack up and go altogether. Our user base has migrated to X-Plane 10 (big time), so there's not much more to be said here. I do apologize, Ola, but that's all to say at this time.

Just as Goran said in post 16, this was not present in X-Plane 9. Whatever aircraft you have open in Plane Maker the value only relates to that specific aircraft. If you want to learn more about why the change occurred from version 9 to 10 I'm positive Austin Meyer @ Laminar would be happy to explain why he made the change.

You don't have Gizmo installed. That's the problem.
-
It's part of the next update, but with the legacy code it would be near impossible to do, Larry. Definitely in the next iteration for ease of use!
-
Good chance of that, Max.

X-Plane 10 or 9? Happens only after upgrade of 10.8, or not? You may be experiencing the following problem (I saw you're on a brand new retina display, so this is likely it): Please also be aware that you MUST re-install from the installer on a brand new computer. Dragging and dropping or transferring will NOT work.

You interpret things as you will, though I don't recall the word of "promise" being used. That said, full intention has and still does remain. Nothing has changed there. The ADF update was released for those who needed it. If you missed that bandwagon you can still obtain it. I can think of many products that came to fruition after such time, one big one in particular. Time doesn't mean non-commitment. You do realize the product was sold and delivered as advertised, and anything Tom has done since is purely a FREE, major eye-candy upgrade that most would consider him crazy not to charge for, right? It's not like actual promises have not been kept (though we did make an honestly bad assumption that we were so close and announced such, only to realize major problems in the last 10%). Amazing group of supporters we have, no doubt. To say we are thankful for the wonderful people in this hobby would be an understatement, and I can certainly sympathize. It doesn't mean we'll make bad on our word. We will prevail, though it obviously won't be on your timeline.

Great! Thanks for the update!

Unfortunately I don't know all of what privileges have been adjusted during your OS upgrade. I'll investigate this a bit and get back to you soon...
-
The license is still valid. I assume you have tried completely uninstalling the CRJ and re-installing? This is definitely a system permissions issue.
-
Again, really nice work, Leen!
-
To confirm: You did not have this problem prior to 10.8, correct? I assume the answer is no, since you appear to have a valid license prior to your OS upgrade...
-
Luca, Did this only start happening after you upgraded to OS 10.8? I see one problem here, and that is that your shrink-wrap plug-in is refusing to start. This appears to be a permissions issue on your computer. I note you purchased in 2011, and have previously activated, so I'm curious.

Please refrain from making duplicate posts in multiple parts of the forum: Topic closed.

What does that mean? As in it works in X-Plane 9, but not 10, or starts to work but then stops, or what?
-
Glad to hear things are sorted! Enjoy it!

With slow FPS your entire system is essentially at a standstill. Like I said, it may not seem like your gear up is registering, but it may well be and is taking forever just to get there. A lot of weird stuff can go down when your ram is being exhausted. No, these are plug n' play devices, really. There's no need to install additional drivers.
-
System hog or not, your onboard vram is not utilized anywhere near to what X-Plane would require.
-
Given the extremely slow performance on the machine you speak of it may be taking an eternity for anything to register while everything else computes in the background. I really don't have a clear cut answer for you, and at this point I think your best bet is to contact Laminar Research.

Correlating memory exhaustion to issues. This card is roughly 512MB, and X-Plane likes to suck up around 1GB. You say the plane is moving at about 1fps...is that actual performance (as in is it really laggy), or are purely speaking about speed of the aircraft roll and not laggy performance of the sim as a whole? Can you verify that in your joystick setup window that the throttle axis is assigned to the throttle and you can see it move when you move the throttle up and down on your joystick (in the joystick setup window, remember)?
