Cameron Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Hello, all,I have just completed pushing up a new page for a CRJ-200 Hardware Diagnostic. In short, this is a test aircraft with a plug-in that will tell you whether the CRJ will even work on your hardware. Throughout some tests, we have found some older hardware that just doesn't make the cut and will not be able to run the CRJ displays. As such, we have created this tester for you. This does NOT indicate smooth frame rates, or anything of that nature. This test will simply tell you whether your hardware has the ability to even run the CRJ based on your GPU, CPU, and associated drivers! There are testers available for Mac, Windows, and Linux here: http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/crj_test.phpPlease follow all instructions as indicated in the installer!Good Luck! Pyrospeuz Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Thank you, Cameron, for the tester. It even works on the old black macbook with the following specs:Modellname: MacBook Modell-Identifizierung: MacBook4,1 Prozessortyp: Intel Core 2 Duo Prozessorgeschwindigkeit: 2.4 GHz Anzahl der Prozessoren: 1 Gesamtzahl der Kerne: 2 L2-Cache: 3 MB Speicher: 2 GB Quote

bonfiki Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Thank you for the tester! I'll try in a hour... But, does it mean we are very close to release??? Quote
Cameron Posted May 1, 2011 Author Report Posted May 1, 2011 Thank you for the tester! I'll try in a hour... But, does it mean we are very close to release???It means we'd like you to test your system. Quote
Patrik Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Thank you for the tester! I'll try in a hour... But, does it mean we are very close to release???It means we'd like you to test your system. You know, Cameron, this test is more than a great reason to delay the release. I appreciate your efforts, along with Javier's and Phillip's.Thanks! ;D Quote
HenryT Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Thanks guys! Very clever idea. Works even on the mighty beast that is the macbook air. (Latest and lowest spec'd one - 1.4 ghz, 2 gb ram, 256 mb vram) Got about 45-50 fps around LOWI with pretty high rendering settings and full resolution also. Is this an indication of the FPS to expect with the actual CRJ? (obviously minus the visual models impact)EDIT: sorry Cameron, getting late here obviously. Quote
Cameron Posted May 1, 2011 Author Report Posted May 1, 2011 Hi, Henry,As indicated in my post, no, this has little to no bearing on what you can expect performance wise. I'm glad to hear you could see it on the MacBook Air though! Quote
crs Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Sorry, could not resist. Glad to see that message. Was quite sure I will be able to run this file but still held my breath for second or two while it was loading. (Specs in signature)Best!Kamil 1 Quote
philipp Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Very good that you post your specs - and even more that it works for you If you have an old ATI on Mac it _might_ not work. I'm very eager to see more results!PhilippPS: The processor specs are not important - here we are testing openGL stuff. So the model/make of your GPU is important. Quote
bonfiki Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Thank you for the tester! I'll try in a hour... But, does it mean we are very close to release???It means we'd like you to test your system. Yeah, "CRJ WILL WORK" !!!MacBookPro6,1 - Intel Core i5 2,53 GHzCache L2 (per core): 256 KBCache L3: 3 MBMemoria: 4 GB 1067 Mhz DDR3OSX 10.6.7XPlane 9.69 at about 30fpsThank you Quote
woweezowee Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 will work on my Mac Pro6-Core Intel Xeon, 2,66 GHz Quote
Japo32 Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Please .. take in consideration that this is not an FPS tester... it is a "will I be able to see the OpenGL graphics displays on my computer?" tester.FPS will be less than you have for sure. For example.. on my computer an imac Intel i3 3.20 dual core 4gb ram windows 7 bootcamp, it is:Tester: 60-70 fpsCRJ200: 30fps.So.. if someone is having 30 already with the tester ON MY SALAMANCA SCENERY!! (IS IMPORTANT YOU HAVE THE SAME SCENERY AS ME) WITH THE RENDERING OPTIONS I show on the tutorial.pdf... then you are not going to run the plane very well. This is only a tester to verify you are going to run the plane. NOT HOW GOOD YOU ARE GOING TO RUN IT!! but you are going to run it.. even al 5 frames per second (if your computer is too old). Quote
MaidenFan Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 With my texture resolution on very high, I was getting 55-70 FPS around LESA. I feel pretty good about it. Should be able to get about 25 FPS. Quote
karingka Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 It is realizedJavier, had me laughing there... ;D. I think he means released... Quote
karingka Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Also, the test works on my specs:3.06 GHz Intel Core2Duo4GB 1067MHz DDR3 RAM256 MB VRAMIMac 10.6.7Had me nervous while starting up... Quote
karingka Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 But, do you know a data for launching ?There is no set date at the given time, however the finalizations are being completed, so should hopefully be soon. Quote
