Hot Start: Challenger 650 - IRS Mid Flight Failure
hockey4life74 posted a topic in Technical Support
Was flying the CL650 from KSTL to KCVG tonight and about halfway through my flight all three of my IRS's stopped working. I wasn't touching my keyboard, mouse, or any peripherals when this happened. I don't have any idea what caused the error (I don't have random failures on in Xplane and as far as I know they aren't a part of the cl650 either) but I've attached my log.text file with all the logs I have from today. Hello team, I was practicing today the procedure during a failure after V1 and found that the behaviour of the IXEG is really hard to control. I have recorded a couple of videos so you can see what I mean. Basically I am failing engine 1 at 123 knots, V1 is 120 and the plane totally rolles to the left, out of the runway. I try to apply full rudder pedal to keep it in the center line of the runway but, until today, I have not been able to do so. I am using X-Plane 10 at MPTO, no wind, no rain, configured "ready to fly". This is the first video where I record from inside the cockpit: In this video we can see the replay from the outside: This third video is an actual practice of an engine failure after V1. It is an Airbus but what I want to show is how the pilot applies rudder control and is able to keep the plane flying nice and soft: I appreciate very much your feedback. Greetings!!!

Hi, Lately when Im about half way my flight, everything seems normal, all of a sudden the FMC shuts down for no reason at all (screen turns black), I get ELEC, IRS, FUEL warnings on the MCP, autopilot is disengaged and I can't seem to switch everything on again. I have NO failures selected in the failures menu, so all systems should work without failing. Anyone had the same problem or knows what the issue can be? Attached a screenshot when I landed, all screens have gone black and the warnings are vivible too Thanks Tony 0

Hello, I have a question regarding how is the best way to create randomized failures (engines, hydraulic, gear,...). There are some failures in Ixeg menu itself, and also the failures from Xplane. Are the failures created by Xplane itslelf, as realistic as the ones that can be choosen from the Ixeg menu? How could i simmulate as realistic as possible the happening of a randomized failure? Thanks. Olivier
