  1. Hope they do it. Never used it on X-Plane, but using on FSX completely changes the SIM, probably will be something awesome to see on XP10.
  2. Probably 3D viewing even online could be worst than a demo. Would not be good as a demo, and possible easier to crack, lets say you had to download the airplane (full model) to open it on a 3D viewer, then in no time people would "learn" on how to export it to X-Plane. While i would like to try it before buying, i don't have an idea on something that could work, avoid piracy but at the same time be good as a demo. JimboG said above, the best way to see the aircraft before buying is... Youtube. Now MSFS is dead, a lot of people are going to start flying on XP10 (like me) and also a lot of people will go to Prepar3D. And there is always new users starting. For now, my only hope is that every day more and more virtual pilots come to XP-10 and maybe after some time with a bigger community the payware sales number can increase a lot and their prices may go lower. Thats what i hope, it won't be faster, but may happen.
  3. I must say, i hardly fly outside my country (Brazil), but after seeing your work..... oh my.... Many years since i don't fly in Meigs Field, i just remember that i was there a lot on previous MSFS versions, but now, on XP 10, i really need to do some flights around there. Congratulations on your work, i haven't tried yet, but saw the video and it looks awesome, excellent work! Thank you so much for sharing such a good work!
  4. Actually im glad that i found X-pilot.com When i came from FSX to X-Plane (last week) the first site i registered an account was the "Borg", at first only to check the addons and download some files. At least for the next couple months i don't think i can upload anything because im just starting so, i cannot create anything yet. But i hope in the future i can contribute with the community by making scenery and maybe even aircrafts, i know there is a long learning curve ahead. Anyway, i went to the forum, was checking some topics and was everything ok, but then saturday i made the mistake of sharing my opinion, well, haven't worked well. Got a warning for no reason, then things only got worst, used the shoutbox to warn people to avoid stating their opinions or they would get a warning. That got me a new warning and banned from the shoutbox. That's ok, maybe this one about the shoutbox i deserved. But then i saw some people with doubts about System memory/Video memory/FPS, etc. Then i made a quick tutorial just to explain a little about it. Well, the same moderator who gave me the warnings deleted the tutorial, deleted the tutorial and gave me a suspension. I wasn't aware of what was happening, i just saw that suddenly every link i was trying to reach was giving me the message "Sorry you are not allowed..." Then i made a new account to see if i got banned, found my profile and it wasn't banned, but it was marked as "suspended". After that my both accounts were banned, but i was already expecting it since i had a second account on the same pc/ip/mac adress. When i checked my email i saw i had a message from a moderator telling me about the suspension, it was because the tutorial was riddled with speculation rather than relying on facts. Its incredible that some time later i saw some articles written by Tyler Young with the same information i had written on the tutorial. Maybe it wasn't a well written tutorial, but im sure it was helpful and with correct information, and by the way on the first line of the tutorial i said that if anyone one noticed something wrong, to feel free to correct me. Well, if making a tutorial to help others was the way he found to gave me a suspension, now i know, when going to a dictatorship keep quiet. Anyway it all started just because i said my opinion on a topic, no disrespect, no foul language or immature name-calling, no personal attacks to anyone. Im always polite and respectful with other people, every one have its own opinion about everything, but then i realized i was on the dictatorship. Actually i started my search to see if Laminar Research had anything to do with the "Borg" because i couldn't believe that Laminar would recommend people to join that. To me its just bad for business. But well, all good now. Wish i only could delete my 3 accounts there lol. At least now i know that the Org is a good site with good information and a nice file library, but if you want a good conversation, just avoid their website. Now i know why on almost every topic there are more replies from mods than members lol!! Glad im here and i can state my opinion and be myself, i can be polite and state my opinion without being afraid of anything... As a friend of mine says, haters are gonna hate
  5. Some anti-virus softwares may give a lot of false positive warning on a lot of stuff. You can probably just turn off the software for an hour while you install X-Plane
  6. Thanks!!! I hope someone do it. I don't have a clue on how to do it yet. I hope its something simple, something to apply the shaders on the runway textures
  7. Awesome cockpit. I said goodbye to the 2D cockpit some years ago when i started flying on FSX, when got to X-Plane 10 i got a little dissapointed when seeing planes like the C-130 without a 3D cockpit, but hey, its so good to see you guys making an aircraft with an awesome 3D cockpit like this one, just awesome!!!
  8. Just saying the truth Guess i'll spend sometime on the Leading Edge Simulations! work in progress forum. Was just looking at the awesome Saab 340 3D cockpit
  9. Thank you Cameron! Im glad to be here!!! By the way....As i stated, im new to XP world, so i wasn't really aware of the X-Aviation, i checked your web site.... what a DC-3!!!!!!! I watched some videos of Buz Pilotlari (Ice Pilots?) on youtube and seeing your DC-3 with the Buffalo paint scheme...just wow!
  10. Hm... Looks like my first post should be here, but it wasn't, got in some other threads before seeing this thread here, but hey.... X-Pilot.com is committed to a non-censorship type community where everyone is entitled to their own opinion without being worried that a moderator or administrator will knock them down. As much as opinions may hurt some, they often times end up making a product stronger! Let the fun begin... We'll see you in the skies! Really glad to see this, actually more than anything because i got banned from another XP related web site, and all started with me stating my opinion about a product. Good to know that i share the exactly same feeling as they often times end up making a product stronger. With more than 16 years using PCs (and building, overclocking, breaking, formating etc... my own), and at least 10 years flying with MSFS platform, i really believe that after switching to XP10, i found also a good community! Cheers! Hope i will become an X-Pilot, after i finish mapping all the 3 modes of my joystick, buttons, buttons, buttons!!!
  11. I would love to see that! But only it that would NOT mean a lot of external plugins running on my machine, and also if that doesn't weaken the file's security. Comming from MS platform one thing that scared me when started with X-Plane was the price of some paywares, and for sure a demo would be good. Probably since MSFS have a bigger market addon creators can sell it cheaper, thats the only reason i see. At least that all addons i saw for X-Plane are all good quality addons, and that wasn't true for MSFS, there was a lot of awesome paywares, also a lot of bad quality paywares too But, for sure this is not good for developers, this probably will made them easier to be cracked, and one thing that will be much worst than addons without demos, is to see an addon maker losing interest on making good quality addons because of their products being cracked. Ah.... still miss some good quality freewares for XP10 like these ones: http://indiafoxtecho.blogspot.com.br/
  12. Just a curiosity, but please, about this moderator approval, how does it works regarding updates? I haven't made anything for X-Plane yet, neither did for MSFS, but i made some mods for racing games last couple years, i remember that i made updates for some of my files on the same day i uploaded them. Mainly was because i forgot something, but anyway i had to upload it again. That means i would need to wait my file being approved before updating it? Actually i don't see any problem with the "waiting", but well, i hate to remember that i had to upload it all again just because i forgot to add the readme file inside the .zip file! Never really got much interest on developing anything to MSFS, but looking at X-Plane's wiki and seeing softwares like WED, thats something very interesting
  13. Hm.... Now i get it! Thanks for the info!!! I wasn't sure if it was something regarding my config, or it was like that by default. I know this happens on FSX, but also wasn't sure if it happens by default or if was something due to my addons (i have a lot). So i was obviously looking for them, i guess im trying to get to XP10 what i miss from FSX. Since i started flying on XP10 i enjoyed it a lot, felt like a completely different flying experience, so now i guess im just looking for some eye candy.

    Carrier Landings

Nice landings, i just love carrier operations!
  15. Hi X-Pilots. I haven't found a topic that matches exactly what i want to know, but this is the closer one. Does anyone knows about runway shaders? I mean, when its rainning, looks like there is no shader applied to the runway, so its hard to say if it is wet or dry. Tried to max some settings including airport, but no luck. By the way i did the tests using custom weather and runway wet. Chris k, please, These textures look very nice. Do you know somewhere else i can download the textures, besides the Org website? A mod there was harassing me and he gave me a suspension, i wasn't aware of the suspension, just couldn't use the site, so i made a new account to check the site (and try to understand why i wasn't able to check the site anymore), but well, same PC, 2 accounts, got banned. Just noticed it was a suspension later when i checked my e-mail.
  16. Thank you for your contribution JohnMAXX. Im new to X-Plane, just started last week with XP10, but flying more than 10 years on MSFS. Regarding scenery i actually like XP10 out of the box except for the lack of airport scenery, and since i live outside US, it gets harder to find scenery. But since there are some tutorials on the web i'll start to learn and see if i can do my own airports. I must admit i haven't used any of MAXX plugins yet, but i watched 2 video on youtube one showing UrbanMAXX and the other one SkyMAXX wip and judging by the videos i say just one thing: You did a pretty good job.
  17. The 787 in X-Plane 10 is a very nice plane. Flew it on FSX and really didn't liked. Tried it on X-Plane 10 this weekend and Voila, completely new experience. Flies much better, and it is a nice plane to fly.
  18. I think you can also use "." and "," to move away from your aircraft.
  19. Hi Guys, My first post here. As OldAirmail i share some of his concerns. Just started with X-Plane and im comming from FSX. Actually i have only 3 problems with X-Plane. 1 - Lack of "complete" planes. I don't use the 2D cockpits anymore, its a long time since i don't fly using the 2D cockpit and i really didn't like to see the X-Plane "default" planes without the 3D cockpit. I love flying the C-130 in FSX, and when i saw it was included on X-Plane i found that awesome, but when i started and saw there wasn't a 3D cockpit i felt so bad... But i saw some people saying that X-Plane becomes much better around version .60-.70. So maybe 10.50+ will be something more complete, i don't really know, i just expect it will. 2 - The ATC system The ATC system on MSFS is very user friendly, i like it because i can just chose a plane, start flying and then i can just check the nearest airports and contact the atc to land on any of them, simple and easy. This sadly doesn't happen on X-Plane, but since X-Plane is very powerfull, there's probably a way to do something like FSX using plugins, maybe someone already did that and i just don't know. Anyway i haven't searched for it yet because i decided to assign some nav/com buttons to my joystick first, lets say i decided to include this on my learning curve, sometimes its just boring to check the airports frequency and have to manually dial the numbers on the radio, but anyway, brings more immersion to the sim. 3 - The lack of Airport Scenery For the autogen i cannot say anything bad, its not something realistic, but its something good. I live in São Paulo, Brazil, it is awesome to fly over my city and see that all the major (and important) streets/avenues are there, and also an important river that surrounds the city is there. Also the default buildings while not that realistic are much closer to real life ones than the default buildings that are included in FSX. When starting FSX at the local airport some years ago i felt like flying in Rome, Medieval Era. Got afraid to see some horses and then a war! hehehe At least that doesn't happen when flying XP10, but obviously i missed the airport scenery a lot. Even if it was a simple airport scenery, but there is none, that was bad. I got to the org website and downloaded some airports, i believe most of them (if not all) are for X-Plane 9 (the ones in my country), but at least the ones i tried are not that bad. I don't need a real match of the real ones, as long as they don't look completely different im ok with that. But to say the truth, X-Plane seems to have a lot of information out there and a lot of information for scenery development. So i will try to learn something about it and see if i can do some airports of my Country, i'll start doing small fields and then i'll move to bigger ones. In my oppinion X-Plane 10 is just new, like FSX at the start. Maybe in a year or 2 there will be a lot of scenery and airplanes to download. Only bad is that 95% of the good quality aircraft/scenery are paywares, and thats different of FSX, there was a lot of good quality freewares, but also much bigger number of users, so again, this will probably change in the next year. One thing im sure is that after i learn about making an airport scenery for XP10, then there is no comming back for me, i'll not go back to FSX. The flying experience (to me) is much better on X-Plane.
