  1. beat me to it! Indii's last post indicated that it should be out round about....now. everybody chant: we want Norcal, we want Norcal, oi, oi, oi..
  2. looking just so real, dare I say 'analogue' Tom!
  3. Now just imagine details like this on Goran's 747 or the q400 or..or..plus with a 3d deck
  4. thanks for the tip Goran and Jason.I'll watch out for it next time, as I tend to play with the settings a bit
  5. XPFRs Arnaud interviewed. These guys are what the Xplane community should be about. http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/07/10/xpfrs-arnaud-interviewed/
  6. great update Tom, looks very nice. good to hear the night lightings getting better
  7. wow, thanks Wow! pity it doesn't cover the rest of the world. still snazzy.
  8. so can u connect to sim with skycharts?
  9. I'm guessing that 'moving map' means that it moves with your plane. it'd be useless if it didn't. as I'm in Australia, my challenge is to see if the map is any better than the one I see with xplane remote for iPhone/pad. we don't see the nav charts the us gets.
  10. check this out, new moving map (thanks to Gloworm for telling me') http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/igmap-fswidgets-moving-map/id379872511?mt=8 Frees up your screen, very good for US, but still uses openstreet map for rest of world. 12 bucks a bit steep though!
  11. thanks for the feedback lis, really nice. I'll forward to Chip my partner in rhyme, who writes most of the articles and formats those PDFs. that's what we wanted to do it for- to help spread the word (done, hundreds of views per day) and be a good repository of reviews or articles(almost done, getting bigger every day). oh, we are sort of official now, we have our very xplane link here! another good portal for xplane sites, some VERY good auspice sites in there :-) http://www.x-plane.com/pg_X-World.html
  12. posted yesterday. coverage of the QPAC is also included. pity the external features don't come up as well using cntrl-o, but then again it is donate-ware. http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/07/07/eadt-x737-review/ An interview with one of the key players in XPFR coming up this weekend..
  13. very good! even down to the green hands, proving that it was the wicked witch that was drunk
  14. my how quickly cards evolve. I bought a GEforce gtx 275 less than a year ago and swear by it, no probs running anything, but CPU is also important, I've got a Core i7 920. I found Toms hardware a great site to benchmark cards, the graphs and charts section let's you find the CURRENT sweetspot. even now I see no point in upgrading my own, spending another 500 for a 20 % improvement. I'll probably see as much improvement when I escape Vista to goto Win7
  15. A 747 might 'land', but I doubt it would stop at the end of that rwy! Autogate facilities are poor there too..
  16. Ha Goran, sorry about not crashing the Sundowner, I thought the hard landings were enough for today! seriously though, she was such a challenge to land just right in that strip, pretty unforgiving, really exposes any errors!
  17. Finally put this to the 'Tube after internet issues at home. G2XPL Scenery for Alpe d'Huez came up a treat. The steep nature of this strip makes a smooth landing a great challenge.
  18. like that yak picture Lis, well on your way to knitting a sweater! it's the type of plane where u say 'did I just spend THAT long flying just now?'
  19. please tell me the coathangers do move Maxime!
  20. Posting a video tomorrow, of the Sundowner and Falco, doing different approaches to the tiny, dangerous strip at the Alpe d'Huez. G2XPL has come up really well. A cameo from a larger plane, yes I am crazy! Tune in to find out which pieces of the 737 get to the end of the runway first.....
  21. glad u like it Maxime. I'll post a screenshot of my latest adventure n an hr or so
  22. Ditto Cameron, very nice, airspeed indicator looks great. We need a new competition (or first?), how's about a new x-aviation or x-pilot livery?! for all your planes.
  23. Hi Chaps, as promised by Chip, the interview's up here: http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/07/02/peter-hager-a380-dev-interviewed/ Just hangin out for the next X-Aviation release to feature, or is there a surprise coming soon.... In the meantime, Nils has been captured by our ops team and is spilling the beans right now, should be out in a few weeks :-) Simon
  24. Great songlist! can't miss "Learning to fly" by Tom Petty! A rare song not well known, but incredibly beautiful, is 'Fly' by Adrina Thorpe, a heavenly voice, I'll do a vid to that one day. so many flying songs.
  25. ta Jack, laughter is a great antidote for all evils. my best yet to come... nice pic of the week that overhead. get the night lighting right and it'll be sweet. http://www.flyjsim.com/pic-of-the-week.html
