  1. Ha, set my alarm for 5am here to watch the launch on NASA tv, but missed the alarm, and was relieved that it had been scrubbed! Sorry:-) But I saw Obama's airforce one take off, one pissed off president I'm sure. All that expense and carbon emissions for nothing. How many people were on his plane, 20 or so? He would get a CRJ, reduce his carbon footprint himself! I'd kill to see (and hear/feel) a live launch though. Me jealous, in the off-tornado and off-hurricane season at least!
  2. Hmm, this puppy might be doing the same. 700,000 users in Oz affected, the banks are gonna love Sony!
  3. I know there are a few fellow Sony Playstation users here, serious bummer about their hacking scandal eh! I'm pretty sure I can minimize any password issues at other sites, but risk of credit card fraud is worrying me, to put it politely. RIP Sony, with this and the just released copycat S1 and S2 tablets (seriously, one a giant DS lookalike!), these guys will be the first victims of Apple's dominance. I used to love Sony (made amazing short-wave radios too) but this is unforgivable. Won't be jumping ship to Microsoft though!
  4. Dont you hate that?! Pointless, these videos have probably contributed more to sales of Chicane albums than they'll ever know. I bought them..
  5. I've finally been able to download them. Holy cow! Over 50 pages just for the tutorial! I'm shaking in my boots. Just how I like it, total confusion before you start to master it. And a great thankyou to everyone for delaying release of her until my little trip away, so nice just for me! So Jav, little Teo is not born yet? 'A bun in the oven' as we say in Oz? Best of luck and congrats, my Dylan is 5 and the most amazing thing ever happen to us, so magical. I can lend you our tons of Lego to make more planes :-). Here he is after helping me make some muffins. Not much chance for the muffins to cool down! Very fast hands and mouth. Get used to it! All that is yours is theirs, and so be it.
  6. Hey Javier, you might want to change the intro text for your older videos of the CRJ like the light show, as it still says the project is on hold! Only just tried the video link from x-aviation as I'm finally back in wifi land (ha, on a tram with free, FAST wifi, mustn't be peak hr!)
  7. And we've just had a real life Q400 pilot 'Chiemi' say some nice things about her Jack, we'll try and get more info/assistance from him. http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2011/04/22/fly-j-sim-dash-8-q400-a-quick-look-around-and-some-first-impressions/#com-head Pity it's spring/summer up there, at least I'll have crappy winter weather as an excuse to fly the swarms of new regional planes coming out.. Come on bad weather, come!
  8. Let's see how the manual goes before we lose that great humour Javier! I've always been to understand your writing of funniness!
  9. Ah, I've worked out why the documentation loading is taking so long- Cameron can't stop flying it and taking screenshots! Over 400mb- is that 380mb of liveries, 10 of manual and 10 for plane?! ;D
  10. Ooh yeah baby, tease me, tease me! That's a dream-team, the CRJ and that scenery ;D
  11. Thinking of you all http://occip.it/pt4ostlx A typical autumn day in Oz
  12. Argggh, all this action and I'm away from my pc for a few days! So take your time Cameron, wait 4 days. Hehe, just joking. Sounds like you are having 'fun' up there. I might be able to download the PDF, will have to drive to a 3G area though.
  13. Thanks to Jack and Joe for providing us with a gratis copy of their first plane, see our preliminary review here We stand firm by our belief that the price of $40 is still too high, but we won't let that stop you getting it if you are a fan of this very nice looking plane! The aircraft is a great first effort, I'm sure you guys learnt a lot from it. I for one could never attempt such a large and complex project. Great to see Ben's Gizmo being used for the first time in a payware project, so congrats to Ben too!
  14. Love these topics. Old motto, only upgrade when u need to. Every month you wait, something better is released, often cheaper! My pc is almost 2yrs old, one of the first i7 systems and I don't see a need to upgrade my gtx275 gpu until early 2012, 560 or better is looking nice! When I bought the i7, I was concerned at paying the 300 premium for it, but guessed it would last me longer. Best decision I made. So pay a little more for the i7 (new one) if u can. Have fun with your new toy!
  15. LOL! Maybe it's your phone that needs to 'get with the times'. Flash is everywhere. ? Where? I can't see it? ;D ;D
  16. Congrats Jack and Joe. I was a little shocked by the price, $50! Since it's your first and an unknown quantity, any chance of an early adopter discount?
  17. I agree with Ola, I do most of my browsing on the iphone/pad, many sites still use flash and I think 'get with the times guys'. I can always check it out on my desktop, IF I remember. But yeah, the xpilot crew look a little distracted right now. Better give them some radio silence while they land these birds in one piece!
  18. Beautiful vid as always from Javier. The only bird that looks gorgeous just taxiing! Those windscreen effects look cool, that icing!
  19. Rest assured, when the Saab is done, you'll find me here... ...with no computers in sight. Sure, bet you'll get wwwithdrawal symptoms after 2 days! ;D
  20. Thanks to YOU Goran and team, a good update for those waiting. No panic, just get it out when you know it's right. Then go on that holiday!
  21. Warm, seems like 6-10 is the average for Australia. I think I've fluked a close connection (we didn't shop for houses on basis of Ping!). 10 was pretty good actually
  22. Ola, I'm paying about $100 per month for unlimited national calls, including to mobiles, & the net, about the same I was paying with my last provider. It's not cheap, but a good bundle - you haven't seen my wife in action on the phone! We were easily paying over 50 a month just for the landline. Plus my work use makes a proportion deductible. I'll also be paying $43 billion as our gov't is rolling out 100 mb/s to 93% of our country. I can opt out of the superfast option, which should bring me 'down' to about 20, which I may do after the novelty wears off. If it wears off. I still laugh when I load up a youtube vid. Youtube uploads are noticeably faster. I think 20 is the sweetspot, this is over the top! Ha, frame that, let's laugh at what I just said in 5 yrs time when I start blowing my 500gig limit! To think I first started on a 512mb/s plan with a (I think) 200mb limit, only 7 yrs ago.
  23. Ok, this'll be fun! I just posted an article to the blog. Here's the video that went with it. I just contracted with a new internet provider, Optus Internet, their superfast cable modem service. I'm pleased ;D ;D ;D Any one better? Anyone (Ben R??) slower? Edit: I was at 10mbps before.
  24. Ha, maybe it's a new hip way of expressing excitement, like 'phat plane that, its so sick I'll rind it over every airport i can find, dude' Cul8r
  25. Brilliant work Phillipp!! This really might be the first application that uses my i7 to it's full potential! Just make sure your marketer crows about this feature! Seriously, doing this is game changing, freeing up resources for scenery etc. Well done.
