Hi there, Thanks for downloading this file, I hope you will find it as useful as I hope to as I generally cannot cope that well in the Jetstream 32 without following the checklists - I always miss something and then: BANG! There goes an engine.. again. The intention behind creating this series of (24!) checklists was to help people have an easy way of staying on top of the Jetstream 32 before it gets carried away or you get lost in what it's doing. I've also seen a lot of people having problems that have been reported as bugs to JRollon when 95% of the time it's down to pilot error. Hopefully this series of checklists will serve to negate some of these errors. Please read the "Installation Instructions" - I've taken the time to try and cover most issues/questions, so please check there for any pointers! If you want some visual pointers, I have created the following accompaying YouTube videos, which shows these checklists in action! 2. Hi Cameron, Can do - didn't see that this was possible - will do it now. (Still getting used to XP world!) And BTW: I made a mistake in posting this thread - could you please move it to the Jetstream32 subforum which is where I intended to put it? Cheers James
  3. Hi there, Just to let you know that I have been working on creating a Checklister plugin checklist in clist format - Version 0.1 - it is now available for download here if you can't download it from this post: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=18360 All the relevant details are contained in the .zip file - enjoy, I hope it helps! 4. Hi Colin, Indeed, Recuva's ability to detect "deleted" files depends on what it sees in the partition table - which in your case has been overwritten / blown away / edited. But it's free, and is ok for simple recoveries of accidentally deleted data. The tool I have in mind on Hiren's CD isn't Recuva AFAIK. The CD has evolved over the years with some tools being dropped and some being added. I'll check tomorrow when I get in the office as to the name and version of the tool in question, and I'll have alook around at home, I might have it handy. I've looked through the app listing of the current Hiren offering, I am not 100% convinced I see the app I have in mind. I'll dig it out and confirm either way for you. Cheers James
  5. Hi Colin, The Windows-based tool for quick and easy discovery of "deleted" files is called "Recuva" - this is quite a simple tool to use but it does rely somewhat on the partition table and what state it is in - which in your case depends on the type of format used and how similar to the previous structure it is now. This tool is handy for a first hit, and certainly does the job for those careless "oops" moments when cleaning up files! As for the deeper scan, there is a fantastic tool known as "Hiren's CD" - this is an .iso burn-to-CD-R effort which when booted gives you access to a collection of tools that will run out of a RAM disk and therefore doesn't write *anything* to your (sick) disk. One of those tools on that CD in particular I have used many times before that will quite literally scan every sector (including doing its best with bad sectors) and working out what files are there and what it can bring back from the dead onto another medium that you've got plugged in (external USB HD for example) I have restored literally terabytes of data that have been presumed lost forever.... I won't go into any further detail due to the sort of work I do but trust me, it can be done. External recovery companies can cost an absolute fortune (£1K per day!) depending on how sophisticated they are, and it can take weeks to get your data back. I am not saying for one minute that nobody should not use them, I am merely stating that people don't realise how much it can cost sometimes, especially as time goes on. If you get to the stage of booting Hiren's CD and have a number of tools to choose from let me know and I'll point you in the right direction if you still need help getting your data back from your drive. No charge. :-) Cheers James
  6. Colin, I work in IT Security. If your drive has been formatted then you have lost the partition table, but most likely not the data on the sectors on the rest of the drive. There are a few tools you can use that are not intrusive on the drive that you can use to "scan" the sectors and essentially reconstitute files that are still there..... So.... Don't do anything rash, I can recommend a couple of tools for you to try and use, one is quite simple and can be used directly from Windows (I am assuming that this drive is an external, I think you said that in your OP) and another is a boot-from-CD tool that can do a much deeper scan of the sectors. The moral of the story is, it's amazing what you can recover, especially when you know where to look - and you do - its your data. The first thing to ask is: did you do a "quick" format, or did you do a 7x forensic format? (I am assuming the former, especially if it was an accident?) So don't panic too much just yet, you've got the drive, and it hasn't been crushed by a press - so you've still got your data, most likely. Cheers James
  7. Thanks very much guys, I'll give this a try! Cheers James
  8. Thanks Chris, I'll check it out! Kind regards, James
  9. Hi there, Is it possible to "exit" the aircraft you have loaded and "walk" around the outside of the aircraft whilst controlling your view - as if doing a walkabout and inspecting your aircraft, without losing the aircraft you loaded? This was something you could do in (dare I say it!) MS Flight that was a really novel feature that added a lot more immersion than I first gave it credit for. The fact that you were a "human" with head-bobbing in between steps and even footsteps I seem to recall. Thanks for any advice! Kind regards, James
  10. Hi there, It would seem that Navigraph are indeed persueing dedicated support for XP10 also. Here is the reply I had from Ian at Navigraph just the other day: "Hi James, We are progressing well with the X-Plane support development. We have the details and the data needed. We are working on the format conversion. We hope to make an announcement in the next few cycles. Cheers Ian" http://forum.navigra...?g=posts&t=3456 So both the CRJ and XP will be in sync at some point over the next few months, great! Kind regards, James EGJJ
  11. Hi there cessna729 and docromano, Thank you both very much for your replies, I am grateful. It would seem that Navigraph are indeed persueing the support for XP10. Here is the reply I had from Ian at Navigraph just the other day: "Hi James, We are progressing well with the X-Plane support development. We have the details and the data needed. We are working on the format conversion. We hope to make an announcement in the next few cycles. Cheers Ian" http://forum.navigraph.com/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=3456 So this encouraging indeed, at least from a waypoint/airways perspective! I have been doing some more reading on XP10 the past few days and watching some YouTube videos of IVAO/Vatsim in action, I think I will look into going online soon once I have a better understanding of the CRJ's systems and am able to improve my airmanship with the manual control of the throttles. It's very enjoyable now that I have got used to working out my ToD and descent rate etc, great fun! (I spent a morning watching Javiers videos and reading his "fat" manual to write out my study notes in a notepad to accompany my EGJJ - EDDH flight which I am practising at the moment!) (Incidentally: I can confirm that I was having the same pitch oscillation issue reported by several other people with v1.5.2 and XP10.11 with out-of-the-box settings, and I can also confirm that the customised CRJ has worked a treat, so there does indeed appear to be something wierd with the default aircraft.) As for my broken route, there were two issues I was having: 1.) ATC would not accept my route when filing my flight plan due to a missing navaid - there is (at least) one missing airway in my planned route that is in AIRAC 2012.12 - what I wasn't aware of however is that apparently you can add single waypoints to your ATC route, rather than the abbreviated "route version" - so I am going to try that method to see if that works. (I'll post the results here.) 2.) After printing out my charts for EGJJ SID I found that I couldn't even tune in my radio properly as the published frequencies didn't appear to match! And could I find the frequencies in XP? No. Was I really frustrated and have up in the end? Yes. Did I have a "face palm" moment when I saw how to get the frequencies on YouTube by zooming in and actually clicking on the airport in question? Most certainly! So now I know how to tune in my radios properly I will have another go (more for sanity's sake than anything) at least getting my flight plan in and clearance from ATC. I take heed of good advice, so thanks again to both of you - no doubt I'll be part of the online community soon, but I have some practise to do first before I'm sat at a ramp listening in to the ATC chatter! Thanks very much. Kind regards, James EGJJ
  12. Hi there, I am using the CRJ-200 v1.5.2 with AIRAC 2012.12 from Navigraph and XP10.11 - and I'm loving it! Thanks very much guys for some brilliant work, but I have a question with regards to any advice you could give me, thank you. I have been reading several threads that relate to this topic, I am sure one of them said that Navigraph might have native X-Plane support by the end of this year. I have asked Ian the moderator at Navigraph for any update but I've had no reply yet. Now that Navigraph are starting to publish FMS data for JRollon's CRJ-200 surely it's just a matter of time before they support the XP10 internal FMS? I've got the latest AIRAC 2012.12 but of course now my XP10 ATC won't accept my route when filing my flight plan due to unknown "navaids" - a missing airway in earth_awy.dat - and I don't have the knowledge to fix it unfortunately. Given that vroute (where I got the route from in the first place) and JRollon are up to date and align perfectly it seems, it's a shame that in essence I can't use the XP ATC until the native Navigraph support for XP10 is in place and I can get XP on the same (current) AIRAC. Can't I fix this myself? So, I've sent an email to Robin Peel with regards to how to get the XP FMS data updated as the latest offering is 2012.08 - surely other people must be having the same problem as me? But I understand he's a busy man and may not reply to me for some time. I don't yet have the confidence to go online, to be honest I am still finding my feet with XP/CRJ being a converter from MFS - so I'd REALLY like to be able to use the native XP ATC, but if I can't even file my flight plan what are my options please? Is the "native" file used by the CRJ on Navigraph's website so different to the XP apt.dat/earth_awy.dat etc that there can't be a conversion/data feed that can be performed? I am sure you can understand the frustration! Thanks vey much. Kind regards, James
  13. Hi Philipp, Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. It looks like the binaries to xjoymap are no longer on the server for download, so I might try out the Button2Dataref utility. I've also looked at the SerialFP software, it *seems* that you can only apply keyboard strokes to buttons.... The was "nothing" that I could see with regards to "deferred initialisation" - but I haven't been to the VRInsight forums yet to discuss. So in short, are you saying that using Button2Dataref you can import your CRJ-200 datarefs file, somehow create a keyboard command to fire it, which I will then map in SerialFP? Thanks again. Kind regards, James
  14. Hi there, I am not 100% sure if this question has been answered by Philipp with regards to the publishing of the datarefs for the CRJ-200 but I am wondering about the best technique to enhance my VRInsight MCP Combo with additional (keyboard commands) so that I can have the best experience? I am new to XP, having only about 4 days at it so far and I'm loving it for the most part! (converting from MFS) So I have installed the latest SerialFP from VRInsight and this is working well, I can get the plugin to "connect" in XP10 - and I can get some of the knobs to work such as CRS, Speed, HDG and VS etc. But I'd like to get other functions programmed such as the radio tuning and MCP range, that sort of thing. I can see where to create keyboard commands using the SerialFP program, but I have no idea how to get to the actual keyboard commands for the CRJ. I've read Philipp's post about the datarefs and I've downloaded the file, but please can someone explain the steps "in between" - is it simply a case of installing one of the two plugins he mentions, importing the CRJ datarefs file "somehow" and then being able to create a keyboard command from there, which I then use SerialFP to assign to a button/knob/switch - a bit like FSUIPC in FS land? Or...... Is this totally wrong and I should use a different technique entirely? Thanks very much for the advice. Kind regards, James Gillies
