I think the IXEG 737 will be the level of aircraft/systems fidelity against which all future planes will be compared ... the pièce de résistance ... for those who hunger for hi-fidelity (and I definitely do!). I'm really looking forward to experiencing how the IXEG 737 flies. Even though it's a totally different type of aircraft (and I know it's a team effort), but Tom has such a solid pedigree in how his aircraft feel IMO; the Moo and the default C90B ... simply the best feeling of flight ... they're just so bloomin' fluid!

LOL .. great!

Nice .. just bought it .. but will have to wait until I get home tonight to fly it ... I haven't flown any of my Carenado's for a while ... can anyone confirm if the updates to 64bit work? Edit: I REALLY hope that they release their KingAir's for X-Plane ...

The ding sound drives me nuts...
pryoski replied to arb65912's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
Hey AL ... you're misunderstanding what I'm trying to say . I reckon it's ONLY happening for you in the JS32 because it's sound set is unique to itself (other planes don't have that function mapped to a 'ding' sound). However, it still uses the universal command keys from X-Plane. So something you're doing is invoking the generic X-Plane key command that co-incidentally also invokes whatever causes the "ding" to happen in the JS32. I'd check my key settings in X-Plane .. specifically the continuous_reverse_thrust key mapping for starters and work back from there. -

pryoski replied to arb65912's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
Hi Javier I know this sounds presumptious of me (because you created the JS32) but, the Fire Warning sound is a ringing sound not a single "ding". The sound that happens when you first apply continuous reverse thrust is a single "ding" ... It's definitely not a "problem" for me as I hear it twice each time I fly the JS32. Once when I initialise the plane and the second time when I land and apply continuous reverse thrust. I think that AJ's issue might be something different, or it could be that he's got a key mapped that could be momentarily placing the continuous reverse thrust on ... this is plausible because it's an X-Plane key assignment setting. So for example if AJ had assigned the "B" key to continuous_reverse_thrust and he also has it for a plugin admin key (say he set it for PilotView for instance), he could be getting the ding sound quite frequently. I still think AJ has a conflict thingy happening. Cheers. -

.. and .. I get the bell sound when I press reverse thrust (I have it assigned as a button in x-plane) ... do you have a key assigned to reverse thrust mapped to your joystick that could be interfering with the JS32? Actually you're supposed to map a key to reverse_thrust_hold for the Jetstream ... and that'll ring the bell each time it's applied -

I only get that sound when I first fire up XP with the Jetstream .... actually not sure what it is! Which is a bit sad really as this plane has become a REAL favourite of mine ... I'll have another look when I get home tonight ... -
Irish coffee ... with a hefty dash of course!

Hey Beach! Welcome to the forums (assuming you're the same BeachAV8R from SimHQ .. and welome anyway even if you aren't )

Hi Alan, nice plane. Are you considering including a functional 3D panel in the future?

This will be my next step in my scenery creating journey .. thanks a million Chris for your very clear instructions! I've managed to do a fair rendition of my home airport while exploring WED, now this will be the next step for me. Cheers, Kris.

T50, that's one beautiful aircraft you're flying there!

Enroute to Sydney (YSSY) from Brisbane (YBBN) in the FlyJSim 727 .. beautiful aircraft to fly. My favourite heavy!

Saab 340A Preview and Announcement! - June 24th, 2013
pryoski replied to Cameron's topic in Saab 340 - Released!
"Fairly good" just doesn't cut it anymore imo, although I concede that for some it's a personal choice. On the higher end, X-Plane is moving into the realm of hi-fidelity systems and graphics ... the days of pandering to those who won't (or can't) upgrade their hardware are dead and buried. A decent bells and whistles flight-sim will require a bit of investment. We all make our own decisions to balance out the ratio between the hardware we're willing to spend on, likewise the software and the effort to maximise life of hardware. -
Copy that BWolf7! Thnx for the heads-up!

Europe will be cool .. any chance of Australia down the track?

Just thought I'd provide some closure to the topic as I was the one who raised it .. FSE is great! It's very immersive and has a lot of potential to become even more than it is now imo. I'd definitely recommend it ... might even try it in conjunction with PilotEdge once I get brave enough .

James, does the Reality XP GNS530 run in 64Bit X-Plane or only on the 32Bit? I've got the Reality XP GNS430 and it only runs in 32Bit X-Plane unfortunately, but yes I totally agree with you that those GPS' are very sophisticated addons (when I used to fly 32bit)! I've tried the KLN90B but I'm too used to the Garmins.

Looking forward to seeing this when I get home! Cheers

I'm using Tom's C90B almost exclusively in FSE at the moment and really getting to appreciate it's fine character. Tom has indeed done an outstanding job on getting this aircraft to feel right; indeed it outshines many payware planes in terms of flight dynamics (imo). I use X-FMC with the KingAir and it really elevates the whole experience beyond belief! Like you, I live in hope that this aircraft gets some special treatment in the near future .. IMO it should be treated as the flagship default aircraft in XP and accordingly lavished with extra attention to bring more of its systems into play .
-
Well, there's room for all ... note that FC3 isn't systems heavy either. XP has the advantage that you can take a 'lite' plane e.g the default KingAir .. and get a 'heavy' experience by utilising planning software (there's a few), FMS software (freeware and payware) and real world procedures via a number of resources ... all of which a missing in DCS (as an integrated experience). DCS excels in .. blowing things up ... but I'm not really interested in that anymore.
-
Agree that it's 2 different worlds (I use DCS as well), but I believe there's every reason to model civil aircraft to the same degree .. yes, including subsystems. Why does one have to be dealing with SAM launches to justify having hi-fidelity in depth systems at our disposal? I wouldn't be flying an A-10 in X-Plane as I already have the DCS version to play around with, I just want the systems depth available in DCS to also be available in X-Plane on a selection of civil aircraft. I's the philosophy of having hi-fidelity complex systems & sub-systems (plus awesome FM and environmental/weather & terrain) that I'm excited about, which is why I'm really looking forward to the SAAB and the IXEG ... and that PMDG are coming to the X-Plane table.

Anticipation .. truly delicious heheh! Thanks for the new screenshots too btw ... they keep me company @ work and even non simmers have commented on how fantastic the SAAB looks; bring it ON!
