  1. Cheers, it means alot I couldn't have done it without your Sketchup to x-plane tutorials. It is a very nice part of the world, I guess you are going to have to make a virtual flight round Portsea.
  2. It can be weird but it is definitely worth it in my opinion. The disadvantage is it takes longer to bring out a whole new line of products. Looks as though a GTX580 has similar performance to a GTX 660 Ti which is a much cheaper card.
  3. Progress is coming along nicely. All of the screenshots below have been taken with relatively low rendering settings so it could look a lot nicer than it is currently. Enjoy
  4. 2GB of ram is good but the card does not perform as well as it might seem. Have a look here: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GT+640 Also there is nothing wrong with starting a new topic...
  5. Nice work, the shadows look great in sim. Get ready to start painting, it takes me longer than the modelling itself.
  6. Fair enough, I had no idea McPhat had copyright issues. Copyright can be a real shame these days, I've heard that Gulfstream will sue the pants of anyone that simulates their aircraft.
  7. It started a discussion. Forums are a place for discussion?
  8. I also noticed that PMDG is working on a Dash 8. Yet another area of the x-plane payware market that has already been filled. Hehe I can only hope
  9. Peter makes a good point. As much as we might want them to be, developers are not machines. Remember that both these projects are freeware.
  10. If you have a Nividia graphics card you should see improved performance in Windows. This is because the drivers are superior. A good example of this can be seen here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/topic/4305-fps-testing-for-fun-and-profit/
  11. Add me to the 737NGX list... These FSX screenshots made up my mind. All I can think is how much better it could look in X-Plane.
  12. WOW. Thanks for those screenshots, I'm excited already! That NGX definitely looks a lot sweeter than PMDG's old 747.
  13. Good to hear you have the flight model down. Now lets see some more modelling!
  14. I agree with this. The only problem with this for PMDG is the quality of EADT's 737. To be completely honest, if its either the 737, 747 or 777 I will be a very happy person Interesting theory regarding Ramzzess 757
  15. Many of you may already be aware of this but, since October 2012 PMDG have been developing an aircraft for X-Plane 10! They have said that the aircraft will be announced close to the release date. They also say that they have plans to continue x-plane development after the first aircraft is released. You can read more about it here (at the bottom of the first post) http://forum.avsim.net/topic/394754-22dec12-development-cycle-updates/ Any guesses as to which aircraft will be the first conversion?
  16. My understanding is that the current bottleneck in most x-plane systems is the CPU. I have a feeling that your GPU is not working to its full potential because it is limited by the CPU. This is where I would recommend over-clocking but your CPU is not unlocked. Good luck, hope you can find a solution!
  17. Thanks Eport Aviation
  18. If you are fly around Florida the Realscenery package from X-Aviation is a must! You may also be interested in: http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/x-planestore/Detail?no=347 (I don't have it myself but it looks good).
  19. This might help: http://www.x-plane.com/?article=configuring-flight-controls And if things don't work out this is a very good joystick for a good price: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Extreme-Joystick-Silver-Black/dp/B00009OY9U
  20. Looks very good. I look forward to see how you texture it. My sketchup texturing is terrible. Be ready to "leg it"
  21. The Abacus 787 is the joke of the flight simulation world.
  22. And if you don't already have x-plane 9 you can download the demo which includes plane maker.
