  1. Cool idea, thanks for the suggestion:)
  2. I highly suspect you are pushing your system over its limits, the addition of SMP is just the final nail in the coffin.... SMP did not crash x-plane, additionally that small snippet from the log doesn't even indicate a crash...... Now that's not to say you do not have an issue but we need all information available in your log in order to give you some proper direction...
  3. That's correct, but by fine tuning the scene you should be able to adjust to your liking......the presets are cool but I highly recommend the "power user" option..... Only reason I suggest MaxxFX is because I love the effect it can have on the clouds and the overall scene...... You can actually save your power user presets and share them, if you find a good balance with it I encourage sharing the preset, it could help a few others that feel the same as you
  4. Let's not forget Maxx Fx is a great tool to further adjust visuals to your liking.....it works along with RTH for unlimited possibilities.... Reality(visual) in a simulator is the most subjective topic, that's why there are a ton of great options out there so individual users can tweak until they are happy....
  5. That's normal behavior, we couldn't get the cloud shadows to interact with the cockpit...... It's on our radar, but right now it isn't possible.....
  6. To be fair, it seems you found a solution to the problem. Although we are not big fans of users messing with the configuration. I actually fired up xp and I really didn't encounter anything that seemed far off the color spectrum. The distant clouds are billboards and do look slightly different....
  7. That's absolutely insane, with all the variations in hardware out there all x-plane users need to strike a balance with or without SMP.... You sir are trying to inflame something, not cool.......SMP is a solid plugin and your comment is completely false...
  8. Help us to help you, logs or it didn't happen
  9. The V1 low resolution clouds are still available in V3.1 just check them in the UI "Low Rez"

  11. Temporarily set your font scale to 100%, activate and set it back to your preferred setting..... Think that's a common issue on Windows for that installer software...
  12. Andras was my inspiration and a great guide.....
  13. Great work Colin, especially impressed with your knowledge of editing terrain mesh! Keep on keeping on brother....
  14. Nothing to fix, the shading changes depending on the time of day.....That "shine" is when the sun is low on the horizon....
  15. Yes.....cumulus congestus and cirrus are already well represented.....Storm fronts will be present with RWC.... But SMP will not take photographs, we haven't figured that out yet....
  16. Appears in both log.txt's you shut down x-plane there was no crash....??
  17. Yes always start with logs.....
  18. Yes that is the main focus of this product, to put it simply......It reads the METAR and places clouds according to the data, weather fronts will be properly displayed in the distance...
  19. Oh my watch your language, lying and cussing is no way to behave... Side note our hands are tied here at the moment, but aso always we are continually driving forward...
  20. Just offering my services Tom. You seem a bit acute, truly sorry if I offended you...
  21. I'd love to see some solid evidence to support your claim that SMP is a fps hog. I mean Im not a fan of broccoli because it is purple. Also I am truly sorry your dreams are crushed if you ever need to talk about it I'm a pm away.....I'd offer my best advice to help you move forward and continue to bloom. Shine on you crazy diamond!!!
