Im not certain but I think thats what u are seeing because they will go completely black under the right conditions ; )

Yes we are aware of that, are you aware: Another thing to keep in mind the clouds will be brighter at certain locations on earth depending on the angle of the sun and time of year. There are certain features present in Silver Lining that mimic real life cellestrial conditions......

Where I find SkyMaXX 1.3.3 version again?
JohnMAXX replied to dastyflysim@gmail.com's topic in SkyMaxx Pro v4
It will not work, there is no 32 bit plugin shipped with any version of SkyMAXX....... We made the decision to only support 64 bit since 32 does not utilize the full potential of modern systems and makes support much easier in the long run...... With a vast majority of people running 64bit X-plane nowadays there is no need to have 32 anymore, although I suspect someone will argue with me on that -

1.3.3 is 64 bit only also....... -
Im confused what caused that error? A complete rundown would be nice.... The sky color sets are complete in smp this looks as if you modified or tried adding your own....
-
Yes on hold for the time being, Im looking to explore this soon.....Honestly about 90-95% complete as far as textures are concerned, not generic either but specific to land usage ie: croplands, grass and rocks as an example.....Additionally we are injecting normal maps to the mix.... Problem is with regionilzation right now, I dont think a "winter world" is the way forward for a polished product.....

Great sim!

It is possible to tweak SM for more consistant performance but some options will need to be overlooked. You are 100% correct VRAM is the way to go with XPX in general for better performance. The older 512 VRAM macs out there need to understand that the hardware will not be able to hold up to the power of both the sim and SMP, fortunally on our end the user has the ability to scale it to fit the system. How many options do you have for the defaults? Thats right one.... Our system: http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/7093-adjusting-skymaxx-pro-for-better-performance/

Im trying to listen and look for any attempt at giving V2 a go but all I ever see from you is a rant about how horrible our free upgrade was and speculation as to why we released it free. FYI we decided to do this as a thank you to the community...... OK with that out of the way lets help you revert V2 back to V1 standards V1 still exsists inside V2 BTW..... First turn off the Hi Rez cloud puffs, lens flare, crepuscular rays, cloud shadows, water reflections and set your cloud details and draw distance to the minimal settings..... Give it a go, test it out then you can slowly add features back by slowly adjusting the draw distance and some cloud details....... You may even be able to use the cloud shadows and lens flare crepuscular rays and water reflections, but be cautious you will run out of VRAM if you get overzealous with the options......my suggestion is to pick and choose a feature you would like to have and see if it runs..... Sorry for coming off short with you but its frustrating reading your rants and sincerely I would like to work through your issues. I cannot help if you are going to scream and yell whilst kicking your feet in every post........I have 3 kids that do that and tyically I put them in time out.....

I just got through some recent life changing events, during that time I put a lot of things on hold. Fortunally I am back on track, but have nothing to announce at the moment. All I can say is hang tight Ill get there......

A couple of things to try..... If there is an alpha layer on the normal map delete it first or make it completly white..... Second and this is another shot in the dark try setting the transparency of the normal to like 20% Also use the superPNG plugin to save the file.... A few tricks I learned making urbanMAxx...I dont know if it will help but hey its worth a shot....

We developed a UI to give the end user tons of control in regards to performance and visual appeal in SMP. More options were added in V2 as a result users have almost complete access to the clouds to taylor it to their specific system. I am not trying to create a complete guide for using the UI but just a few pointers to help you out. If you are unhappy with the performance lets start by having you "reset" SMP to the default settings... Navigate to your plugins folder and then open the silver lining folder. Delete the settings.dat file, this will "reset" SMP.....Try flying using the default settings and make adjustments if needed..... OK now below is the UI: Most of these settings have an impact on performance some of the heavy hitters and areas to focus on are below.... Heavy hitters: Cloud Draw DistanceCrepuscular Rays Cloud ReflectionsOther options have impact on performance but I feel these 3 should really be looked at. Since our cloud engine is open ended I don't think there is a solid solution for everyone but if performance is really bad I do suggest turning off the crepuscular rays and cloud reflections first after that explore the cloud draw distance and further tweaks like cirrus resolution and overcast type will give more gains...... Additionally you can revert back to the old V1 clouds by un-ticking the High-Resolution Puffs radio button..... Other considerations: Obviously X-Plane as a whole is very open ended and resource hungry, you should consider the following: What kind of custom scenery are you flying over?X-Plane rendering options, how much optimization have you performed?Complexity of aircraft you are flying? How much AI do you have in the air?Again not a complete guide, just some basic considerations And, for instance, if you are flying a complex aircraft you may need to make further adjustments for performance...... X-Plane Rendering Options: A couple of heavy hitters in X-Plane you might want to look at: World Draw Distance-personally I set mine to high or mediumWater reflections-I usually have this off on my MBPHDR-I tend to have this on nowadays but some locations I cannot use itAutogen-since I use UrbanMAXX I set this to a lot or lower at timesShadows-generally I keep this at static Remember there is no such thing as a silver bullet in X-Plane, its a series of different systems that have to be adjusted properly to work in harmony. Our clouds are just another layer on top of a bunch of complex layers and its easy to blame us for performance losses because when you add our layer unoptimized ,for your system, performance can tank......V2 is different than V1 so adjustments are needed once you have it installed. We stand by our performance claims and we also stand by our customers. I hope you re-explore the UI and get the most out of SMP

Thank you for the update Nano..... Something odd is going on with a few users, most systems will probably have a slight increase over v1..... Sorry if I come off acute but we are trying to help figure out whats going on....
-
Both work together just fine Tom....
-
You have made a lot of inaccurate claims and have been very rude so sorry if you are going to have to wait until we can address Nano's problem. I didnt ask for your log file but was trying to address your issue also now yhis ridiculous reply....
-
Rest assured if it actually improves SM we will seek it out. But without permission we are only asking for more trouble.
-
I have no idea what your asking for Saynay.... And next time upload your log.txt please.....
-
Well lets see a log.txt before we make anymore suggestions.....

Saynday, And our clouds do perform well we will always stand by that, you inability to listen to some established people in the community is causing your frustrations right now. I suggest you take a breath and try and understand how to configure your X-Plane for better performance. It will help you enjoy overall and with SMP...... Both Frank and alpilotX have given great advice, there are no free rides and X-Plane along with any other program......it isn't plug and play....... SMP is an excellent system and you will not be getting anywhere stating otherwise, so I suggest to you to start being a bit more rational and looking at the awesome advice presented to you......

No I don't see you as being a problem, I am stumped though..... I wonder what your system specs are..... Thinking off the cuff here that resources are running low..... Maybe fire up X-Plane and get rid of any AI since its getting stuck on ATC.......
-
A few I wanted to share: Shadows shadows shadows! And a fantastic overcast layer 0_O
-
Awesome! Really happy you got it sorted Hope you enjoy SMP V2........
