  2. default 747, virgin livery, crosswind landing@KATL
  3. I know it's a free update but I think that the 1.5 update may attract some attention and that the full v10/64bit compatibility will cause some "new-to-x-planers" to buy this lovely aircraft now. It's worth it. Or does Cameron sack all the money? However, wish you and your moo all the best. Flo
  4. Thanks Tom, you made my day. Eventually waiting comes to an end, obviously a good one. I hope a lot of new happy customers will pay you off at least for some of the hard work and trouble involved with this update. Flo
  5. Cited from release notes: "Changes and Fixed Issues in Version 320.18 The following sections list the important changes and the most common issues resolved since version 320.14. This list is only a subset of the total number of changes made in this driver version. The NVIDIA bug number is provided for reference. Windows Vista/Windows 7 Fixed Issues [Fermi-class GPUs]: The maximum GPU clock is limited to 999MHz when overclocked. [1282233] [X-Plane 10]: The game hangs while loading. [1279387]" Cheers Flo
  6. It's been 7 weeks now, time for an update, isn't it?
  7. Great! Eventually we'll get hand on this legendary update .. unless something unexpected takes place ... Honestly, I can't wait to have the new moo back.
  8. Outstanding in every detail. Fantastic. Flo
  9. Let's sum it up: Ramzzess did a very good job on the exterior of the 757. I don't own a ramzzess plane yet but will have a closer look on this one. BTW: You have to keep in mind that with the given (small and not-used-to-70-bucks-payware) user base of XP you can't expect PMDG quality for 70 dollars. It's simple math. IXEG might deliver anyway but they are no real company and the income won't pay for the efforts. Flo
  10. You did it again. Now I'll have to stare at those pics the whole weekend! Damn you F.
  11. I never said you said...and I already agreed that a 650ti is a good choice for the said reasons. Is it true that in game credits are sold at ebay? If that's true a 650ti is the winner. Never heard about it - but never cared too. Now let's end this. F.
  12. Sigmoid was obviously looking for a cheap card (GT 640 is about 80 dollars). That was the reason I pointed him to a used GTX 560 - for less than 100 dollars. A GTX 650ti costs 120+ dollars and isn't more powerful than a GTX 560. A GTX 560ti is even faster. A 650ti should be considered a good choice nonetheless. 660ti and 670 are high-end gaming cards - and cost more than 250 dollars. However
  13. Power consumption is one point, others are size, noise, PCI 3.0 support, 2GB Ram. Even if new cards are slower than olders - they always have some advantages too. And of course a used card without guarantee can't be compared to a new one when it comes to prices... Flo
  14. Eventually I'll have my carenado fleet back on the runway, yipiih http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=65089&page=3#entry729368
  15. XP10 won't be fun with this card. Try to get a used GTX560 1 GB instead. It's a quite solid card and used ones are sold for around 100 dollars at ebay. Or go for the littel faster GTX560ti or GTX 560 448 for around 120 dollars. Flo
  16. I never used XP9 so I can't tell. Cheers Flo
  17. Hi Trevor, nvidia inspector is of no use at all with XP10 and causes trouble at best. I tested almost every setting you can think of. Just drop it. Helpful settings are all in the default NVIDIA driver software or XP itself. Only things for the driver setting to consider are: - set multi-threaded to: off (just wastes CPU, no performance gain) - set vsync to your liking (mine is set to 1/2 refresh rate = 30FPS) - set everything else to application controlled / default NVIDIA settings Now mess around with the rendering settings in XP10 Most likely your system will give you 30+FPS with AF: 16x / HDR: on / AA 2xSSAA+FXAA or even 4xSSAA+FXAA. You can't max out everything but most sliders should be about one notch from max. Happy flying Flo
  18. You're absolutely right, bring on the systems demo vid! Flo
  19. I know that it's not meant to be a "light" one system-wise, but is there any more detailed information about systems? Eyecandy is nice at the beginning...but systems are nicer the longer you fly a plane... Really looking forward to this Flo
  20. Great work, very useful. Thanks. Flo
  21. Are you serious? I find it hard to believe because 4xSSAA gives a huge performance hit by nature and I don't know what Laminar could do to make it faster than 4xMSAA. It might related to your specific system. Performance for HDR / non HDR on my system (GTX670-2GB, 2600k) is about the same as ola's and for me it's still an issue because even FXAAx4SSAA (which is expensive performance-wise) produces more shimmering at daytime and dusk/dawn than 4xMSAA. As Ben said, there are hopes that someone comes up with a new and fast solution for a high quality AA for HDR. But that is not for sure and it will take some time. TXAA is not very good either at this time. Regards Flo
  22. There will be the IXEG 737classic out soon and it will be PMDG quality at least. Not sure if there is a X-Plane market for two high quality (and expensive) 737s. And PMDG cannot expect to be first class for sure with their first X-Plane project. They have nothing like the expertise the IXEG team has. I think they are wise enough not to compete with the top notch XP Airliner right at the beginning. We'll see... Cheers
  23. My experience is that GPU DOES matter especially when it comes to HDR, AA settings and number of objects. To avoid VRAM and performance problems I suggest to set screen resolution to "very high" and world distance detail to "medium" (in HDR mode). Makes very little difference in visual quality and huge difference in performance on my system. 2600k@4.3, GTX670 2 GB, 16 GB Ram, 23'' screen. You said: slower than with my old laptop...running the same settings??? That would really mean your system is set up wrong. Flo PS: 2GB are sufficent for XP10 in my eyes and you shouldn't worry about this. Nobody can run XP10 with settings maxed out today and I myself never had trouble with the 2GB limit.
