  1. Didn't take too long, 10 mins maybe...
  2. Bought! Many thanks!
  3. And in the meantime you can fly to my lovely (but not quite as lovely as this one) MMML Mexicali. http://forums.x-pilot.com/files/file/428-mmml-general-rodolfo-s%C3%A1nchez-taboada-international-airport-mexicali-mexico/ Shameless plug!
  4. I am not sure but I think that at minimum you would have to reduce the texture sizes. Let me know how you get on.
  5. Haha! I'm like literally waiting on the website 'refreshing' every 10 mins or so like one of those crazy guys queuing up for an iPhone outside the the Apple store (I like iPhone but not that much). Could be a long and sleepless couple of days if I keep this up.
  6. Just wanted to say, in case it has ever been misinterpreted, that any comments I have made on the SAAB this week have been light hearted (and I hope that was clear) and are meant to express how much I am looking forward to the release and not anything else or nagging about the release date or anything. I think that that is probably true for the majority of comments that have been made on the project this week and over the past few years and I am sure that many may have been misinterpreted as criticism. Sure there are some 'frustrated' kids (or not so young kids) out there who have not yet realised that good things come to those who wait, there always will be but most people appreciate the hard work and blood, sweat and tears which is obviously going into this project to get it 'just so' and simply can't wait to get their hands on it. In terms of announcing the impending release this week and what might be announced when in the future. I think it was a good decision to announce it and it has got the community buzzing with anticipation, most reasonable people will understand and accept minor setbacks. In terms of the future it is important to realise that we live in and information age and people crave to know what is going on. In my view it is therefore best that developers spend some time, as they have on projects like this and the 737, keeping their customers up to date with progress, and delays, as the majority will greatly appreciate this information and feel more involved with the project as a whole. There will always be trolls out there on any internet forum, it’s a very sad state of affairs and I feel sorry for these people, but please do not let them spoil it for the rest of us. Thank you for your hard work and I look forward to flying the SAAB in due course! Andy
  7. Hmm perhaps they are having a well deserved sleep in. If they can have it ready for when I'm home from work just after I've had my tea that would be great!
  8. I'm ready for the SAAB now! What part of the world do Cameron and the rest of the team live on and what time do they generally get up so I can be ready?
  9. Logan Air - FlyBe model just made my day
  10. Yup on the ones I have tried they seem to manage to turn at the end and then speed off in a random direction (not along the runway heading)....
  11. The CPU is the bottle neck not the GPU?
  12. CRJ is way more fun to fly than the T7, however, the most fun plane I own is the FlyJ Sim 727 (I love to fly the Cargo one as it's still in service) so you might consider that? Only thing is that it doesn't really have an FMC with SIDS or STARS if that's what your after?
  13. I remember during one of the betas ages ago 10.1 betas or something there was a bug that made the 747 pull to the right or left and it turned out to be to do with something they had changed with the electrical systems but they got rid of that. There is also the weather veining effect that is overdone when you have a wind that is not stright from the front on the runway the plane tends to steer into it too much at low speed this effects both props and jets. Some twin props will still get the torq steer factor because I 'think' that not all types have counter rotating propellors. Andy
  14. Its the trim for sure. All the single engine props tend to roll to the left because of the rotation of the propellor. The effect is overdone a bit on the ground though at low speeds.
  15. Somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean on route between EGLL and KMIA
  16. It's the Realscenery State of Arizona orthophotos. http://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/state-arizona-p-46.html They are very good from 30,000ft but a bit blurry low down. Andy
  17. Above the Grand Canyon in my FedEx 727!
  18. First version done Get it here! Enjoy!
  19. File Name: MMML General Rodolfo Sánchez Taboada International Airport - Mexicali, Mexico File Submitter: andydckent File Submitted: 27 Feb 2013 File Category: DSF Scenery Packages X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 10 Hello, Here is my second new airport: MMML - General Rodolfo Sánchez Taboada International Airport - Mexicali, Mexico. The inspiration to make this came from a tv documentary that I saw 'The Plane Crash' where they used the airport as a base from which to see what happens to people in a survivable crash. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Boeing_727_crash_experiment http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-plane-crash/4od This is my first attempt at making some 3d models for terminal and other buildings which I have a good idea what they look like. There were few pictures of the 'air side' buildings so they may not be perfect. While the airport is much smaller than the much larger KEWR that I did on my first attempt at scenery, this gave me the opportunity to use and develop the skills I learned on that project and try and really impove the quality and end up with a small but interesting and detailed airport that should be fun to fly from. Nice location to learn to fly in the stable desert weather. Excellent location to crash your old used 727's. Buildings modeled include: Main terminal Small terminal Fire station Tower Aerococina Aeromexpress Volaris / Mexicana 3 Hangers This scenery also includes orthophotos for the airport. I'd try to blend them in more to the default but the desert in x-plane is the wrong colour at the moment. Orthophotos are courtesy of the U.S. Geological Survey. The USGS home page is http://www.usgs.gov To operate correctly OpensceneryX must be installed. I also highly recommend that you use Chris K's Wide Taxiway Markings and FlyJSims Enhanced HD Runways both of which this scenery was designed to work with. I hope you enjoy using this and look forward to hearing your feedback and suggestions! Andy Click here to download this file

  21. OK I've finished the buildings where I know roughly what they look like. Been working on one or two lit textures and the lighting. Should be ready for a first release later today! Andy
  22. Peters A380 is now 64 bit. Mainly looking forward to the A321 which seems the better aircraft of the two although no 3d cockpit yet.
  23. I've just done a quick test. In summary yes its a major drop from 57 fps to 24 fps using the 3d cockpit. Andy
  24. Did they not say that people would have to adjust rendering setting after recent updates because they had changed from before? I've found that I've had to reduce the world view distance recently with all the new autogen. Also I don't think that the bigger video card will effect framerate, only allow you to load more and bigger textures. There shouldn't be a difference in frame rate between 32 and 64 bit as laminar have explained on numerous occassions. Correct me if I'm wrong. Andy
  25. Just to chip in on Peters Aircraft, I have both the A380 and the A321. I really love the A321 MugHug above is correct that it is very much a procedural sim though but the systems are really well modeled and its very different than flying a boeing. It also sounds pretty authentic that weird airbus hum noise you get at flex speed. If you watch a video of an Airbus flight after learning the A321 it feels very much like you are doing the correct procedures and that you might be able to climb in and fly one. It has just received a big update but I'm waiting for 64 bit before using it again at the moment which Peter notes is on the way. I look forward to the 3d cockpit. Great airbus vid here that you should watch and makes me want to fly the A321 all day long. On another point the A380 is apparently at the 'final test stage' for 64 bit. Andy
