Strange graphics in xplane - unexplained blotchiness
RealScenery replied to Nicola_M's topic in Help!?!
Great! How wide is the gold edging? If it's only a pixel or two, try widening your line work slightly. Could be the video drivers are working unsuccessfully to render extremely thin line work. -
Strange graphics in xplane - unexplained blotchiness
RealScenery replied to Nicola_M's topic in Help!?!
Try removing your other colored layers one at a time until you find the offending layer, then try adjusting the color slightly of the offender. It could be another color, like red, that is creating a problem for your video card. Have you tried this in other versions of X-Plane (10_32bit 10_64bit, 9)? Could be an X-Plane issue as well. How about your other black livery. Does it appear fine in the same version of X-Plane as your blotchy one? Just some more ideas to try... Good luck! -

Hi Nicola, Been a big admirer of your liveries for a long time. Have you created a full-black livery before? Just curious what the differences might be. One thing you might try, if you suspect it's the black giving you problems, is to not use the full RGB black value of 0 0 0, but try 1,1,1 (extremely dark gray - still visibly black) and see if it helps. There are times when using full values in a color model cause rendering issues, although it can be hard to diagnose these types of errors. Good luck! -

Thank you, Sopwith! -
Here is a short, fun video as I was flying over Sacramento Executive (KSAC) in the new NorCal scenery. Watch the airport below! Video is only a half-minute, no sound. X-Plane 10, 64bit. Enjoy!

Thanks for the nice comment! Don't forget about the Reno/Carson City scenery either. This borders seamlessly to NorCal and includes over 3,700 sq mi (9500 sq km) of amazing scenery of these two cities, as well as the beautiful Nevada desert. -

Yes. RealScenery is payware. You can find out more at realscenery.com or x-aviation.com. I'm not sure the underlying scenery matters for a VA though, as this is much different than your fleet. Kind of like custom sky colors; it has no affect on the actual flight or the aircraft I'm flying. As the owner/operator of your VA, you can certainly make these restrictions on your pilot staff though - your choice. -
NORCAL Scenery Preview - January 16th, 2013
RealScenery replied to Cameron's topic in Northern California
Hi Patrik, RealScenery products are supported in both v9 and v10. You might want to consider some NorCal airports as hubs for your new VA. -
Here are a couple of my favorite shots of the upcoming NorCal scenery. This is late afternoon near Mt. Shasta, one of the southern-most peaks in the Cascade Mountain range, which extends from Canada, through the states of Washington and Oregon, and into northern California. One of the unique features of Mt. Shasta, is the dramatic rise above the surrounding terrain - almost 10,000 feet! This, combined with the fact that there are no other large Cascade mountains in the area, make Mt. Shasta the dominant landmark in far northern California.

I'd have to agree - That is one of the coolest JS pics I've seen!

Beautiful shots, Jim!

For all of you waiting for the new NorCal photoscenery, make sure to read Cameron's latest blog post for a full update of this and all the great X-Aviation products in development. The final installer code and compatibility with our high-speed servers across the globe are the last major tasks to get completed now. Lots of great info in Cameron's latest blog.

We're working on it as I write this. We've had to let the dust settle on X-Plane 10, but we're trying to make this take advantage of both versions 9 and 10 as much as possible. Thanks for your continued interest. I know to many, this seems like a dead project, but I can assure you, it is alive an well! Thanks for your continued interest! Eric

Can't export scenery pack in WED1.2b
RealScenery replied to sichars1968's topic in Scenery Development
WED bugs should be posted here: http://dev.x-plane.c...ll_bug_page.php Create an account and you can submit and track your WED bugs. I have had several experiences similar to yours. I'm on Windows7, but know that many of these are Windows-only bugs and do not occur for our Apple friends. I have submitted several reports, but, like Mr. K said, I think the emphasis is not on WED right now. I have two major crash reports submitted related to Bézier curves and pavement types, along with some enhancement/usability requests. -
Sopwith, Creating scenery for the other islands really depends on customer demand and the availability of suitable imagery. This is an area I'd really like to produce, so I'll be looking into this as a future scenery package. Thanks for your interest in the other islands!

Looks like the apt.dat file is always created, but it will be empty, except for a small header, if you have no airport data in your WED project.
-
.Hi John, From the File menu, choose Export Scenery Pack. This will create a new dsf file, which you should copy into your Custom Scenery > --<Your scenery folder> ----Earth nav data folder > ------<Your lat/lon folder> If you have airport data as well, it will also create an apt.dat file. If you're only concerned about objects, then you don't need to worry about the apt.dat file. See if this works for you. I'm pretty new at this as well, but this is my workflow. Others may have different/more efficient workflows, or corrections. . Eric

Remember that Goran is not really human as we think of other humans. "He" and is co-machine, Theo, are really experiments that have gone beyond artificial intelligence into the realm of "artificial creativity." Unfortunately, they have also become self-aware, which means we have no idea what they will create next! I'm just glad I live half a world away from this monster. None of us should feel safe!

Congratulations! That's a great achievement - lots more landing choices now.
